  1. Retired people here have a plan????? I just ended up here and now I don't have a job to do. That wasn't really a plan more a happenstance. I missed the Indonesian train and the next one that came was going to Thailand. (Ref. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120148/ )
  2. No. If given a choice I would go for AZ first. Because I read that AZ>Phizer gives better protection than Phizer>AZ. What is missing from my logic is AZ>AZ or Phizer>Phizer I will have to have a look But they are using different science to achieve the same thing. I don't think I will be given a choice though.
  3. Interesting. Based on my limited knowledge I would take AZ if my second could be Phizer.
  4. Don't tell everyone. It is nice and quiet here.
  5. I believe he said solar works locally for housing. Inferred not regionally or nationally for industry.
  6. This like 98.8% of problems expats have driving in Thailand, expectation. Drop all you imported expectations and life/driving will be fine. As for zebra crossings, I believe the instructions from my youth said step onto the crossing and wait for the traffic to stop before crossing. This is also dangerous here. The first car that stops is driven by an expat/tourist, following cars may not.
  7. Of course not. If you registered and are on the list you are OK. But you need to heed every phone call you get especially ones from unknow numbers. I missed my call and am only going tomorrow because I was in a restaurant with a guy when he got his call and I asked for the number. The next day I realized i had missed a call from that number late the previous day. My wife eventually called the local health authority, said I had missed a call and she was told send him on 25th.
  8. Yes. Going tomorrow. It may depend on your age and where you live. Patience?
  9. Is it coincidental that both the manufacturer and the approval body are both in the USA? AZ not yet approved by USA. ????
  10. This works for most things, in any foreign countries. How would you react if in , say, Vancouver BC standing right on the kerb on a normal street and a car stopped because they thought you wanted to cross?
  11. Was it AZ or Sinovac in a fake AZ bottle. You see the dilemma for the UK authorities. Be sure to travel with your genuine Louis Vuitton luggage
  12. ^^ I thought we all knew this . Being vaccinated does not stop a person catching the disease, it simply lessens the symptoms. Even if 100% were vaccinated....
  13. From what I understand it is like measels/flu etc. eventually we will all get it. Just the severity will vary. The vaccine is not about individual protection it is more about not requiring hospitalization and overloading the medial facilities. If one is vaccinated there is little chance of requiring hospitalization. Similar to be vaccinated against , say, Yellow Fever.
  14. How about this one? https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/23/delta-variant-pfizer-covid-vaccine-39percent-effective-in-israel-prevents-severe-illness.html I only posted to highlight the idiocy of picking vaccines like picking cars based on brand. Phizer must be best because... et al. AZ followed by Phizer is supposed to be better than Phizer followed by AZ.
  15. Yes of course. Sit the exam, in English, and take the test. Same as the locals. Except they don't select English. Two different licenses, so two different practical tests. They will have a car you can, "cough", borrow. Which sometimes helps.
