  1. Hi,

OK so Im on a marriage visa and coming up to needing to do my first ever 90 days report, not sure exactly when the date is and if I should do it by post, in person or online.

these are the stamps and the dates I have in my passport:

Entered Thailand on non O visa - 4th Feb to May 4th

    Under consideration stamp - April 24th - May 22nd

Notice of 90 day reporting stapled to departure card - 24th April - July 23rd (Im guessing this is it right?)

Thai wife permitted to stay stamp - 22nd May - 4th May 2016

So July 23rd is my 90 day date?

Im in samut prakan area and it says this on the site about doing it by post:

PLEASE NOTE: Send the mail before the renewal date 15 days to Immigration office

is it too late for me to do it by post then? Surely EMS is delivered in 24hrs to them?

Whats the situation with online reporting? Should I just give it a a go? How do I know if it works?

Whats it like reporting in person at samutprakan?

    thanks!

  2. OK so we got it, I guess the comprehensive application worked.

    So a few questions now:

As we have received the visa a lot quicker than I expected Im thinking we should go there a bit earlier than we stated in the application (I said approx Aug 7th) we will still only stay for 2 months though as specified in the application, is this ok to do?

Ive seen some threads that have mentioned people getting questioned by the IOs at UK when they arrive, am I ok to go in the non-EU passport queue with my wife just in case of this?

Anything else I need to be aware of?

    thanks for all the help!

  3. Superal obvs. right now I dont know the outcome of our application just yet and also this is my first ever one but I really went out of my way to make sure I had as much evidence of our life and relationship as my wife has zero assets this is the sort version of what I included:

    Marriage cert + translations

Her surname change doc after she took my name plus translations

My 1 year marriage visa in Thailand

My 1 year house contract here in Bkk plus a utility bill at the same address in wifes name

Letter of invitation from father that we would stay with him plus his council tax bills as evidence of ownership of property

6+ months bank statements for both my accounts in Thailand plus the same for my hsbc UK account, one of the Thai accounts is used for the marriage visa funds and combined they had plenty of money in

Finally a detailed letter from me as the sponsor explaining all briefly and about our relationship and life in Thailand and how we would be going and returning together.

Id say overall it was pretty damn comprehensive!

I think though that with us being married, my surname taken plus living in Thailand it might be looked at a lot differently though than just a bf/gf couple...

  4. Ok so just applied for the first Uk visitor visa for my wife on Monday at Trendy and she has just received an email saying that a decision has already been made!!

This is so fast, is this good or bad??

It says the passport will be available to pick up the 2nd working day after receiving the email which I guess would be Monday but she paid for EMS delivery so when would we get it?

Totally blown away by this, hope its good news...

  5. As Upnotover and 7by7 have said your circumstances are quite different. I did a successful visit application last year and my GF as was, now wife had about 3 bhat in her bank account so her finances are irrelevant. Reason to return is the big one but as you live together in Thailand it is much easier. Your passport will show your visa history but I would elaborate on that in your sponsor letter to ram home the fact that you are settled in Thailand with your wife and therefore you both have reasons to return. Make sure your father's letter includes details of the accommodation available to show that there is sufficient accommodation. Good luck.

thanks, yes just been writing the letter now and its pretty long as Im explaining how I basically live her etc etc along with all the evidence and docs included

  6. OK so here's my checklist:

    Accommodation

Invitation letter from father regarding accomodation with house address on and all his contact details
    Fathers mortgage payment copy
    My financials (Im the sponsor)
SCB bank book updated and copies for 6+ months
Krungsi bank book updated and copies for 6+ months
    HSBC UK 6 months statement
    My sponsor letter
    My passport docs
My passport stamped & visa pages copied
    Wifes passport docs
Copy of wifes passoprt (new passport)
Wifes financials (just for something to show, I will explain that Im paying for everything)
Wifes Kasikorn bank book + certified translation of name + copies
    Proof of our life together
Marriage certificate original + certified translation + copy
Marriage document Khor ror 2 original + certified translation + copy
Wifes name change to my surame doc original + certified translation + copy
Copy of my 1 year house rental agreement in Bangkok in English and deposit receipt
AIS internet bill in wifes name but to my rented Bangkok address in thai + certified translation + copy
A few photos from Facebook printed out so that they show the date stamps including important events like getting engaged etc etc.
Finally there will be the online application document that we will print out.
    Have I missed anything?
Am I supposed to sign some of these docs btw eg my passport pages? Does she need to sign anything too?
    thanks
  7. Just been filling in the online application with my wife for her first UK visitor visa and confused by some parts:

I chose family 1 year longstay visitor visa, but I thought they had all been changed to standard now? That wasnt a choice anyway so I went with the 1 yr family one, is this correct?

Near the end there were a lot of financial questions for her about dependants which she answered no to but then a lot about the cost of the trip and the flight, we selected that someone else would be paying for everything (me) and the total amount that I would spend/give to her but what should she put for all the other questions like how much money will she use on the trip? Put zero for each question?

  8. Thanks guys.

Just looking at the 'sponsorship undertaking' SU07/12 form online now and Im a bit confused and worried about this part:

'Note 1: The sponsor should provide evidence that he/she lives at the address given above...' And then it lists the documents they accept.

I will be the sponsor but we will stay at my fathers house in the UK with an invitation letter from him. I guess that means I should put down my address of the house I rent in Bangkok then? I have no official document for this address that has my name on it only the rental contract, what should I do?
