  1. I think the use and acceptance of could of/should of/would of and the like plus a general inability to spell is a greater threat to the English language.

I had always taken Jail to be an example of Americanised babying down of the language. Right or wrong I do not know but seemingly inevitable.

Anyone seen a correctly used apostrophe lately? Anyone know anyone who would know the difference?

  2. Dawn breaks over Norway, Merseyside and some places that nobody has ever heard of near the M6, to the sounds and smells of kopites cacking themselves at the thought of the big event today.

This came to me after more Leo than I am used to and I thought it would be useful as an opener for my next novel. Any thoughts?

Anyway heavy snow is forecast for the area, starting around about now, and may lead to it being called off. Must check up.

Absolutely outstanding nearly 4 goals a game.

Everton can't be looking forward to this game; they have little chance.

I want the Reds to scare them; crush them; humiliate them; batter them and smash them. And that's just the warm up!

<deleted> what do you know about it.

And as for this lot on here if Skelmersdale/Wigan/Bolton had Liverpool's record they would be supporting them instead.

HaHa next thing they will be accusing me of sour grapes.

  4. The above has been lurkingin some digital dark corner for a while. Forget what went wrong. And this is my second attempt at this post, the first was replaced by an insurance ad then lost.

I think TVF and my samsung no longer wish to have a working relationship. Have lost interest in what I originally came on to post - something about the thread being quiet for the time of year. Bye for now.

  5. I see a headline to the effect of "Pattaya moans about rude Indians and Chinese" which got me wondering whether Fred took his Panto Aladdin and Twanky outfits with him. Possibly rehearsing for a long season.

Then again perhaps they were cunning disguises. A hit for the mob? The Agency? Or possibly just to fool the CCTV at the bottom of Soi Honey. It is doubtful that we will ever get the full story.

Worth keeping an eye on, that fellow.

You may have missed the tongue in cheek and "friendly" rivalry with that lot to the south of us.

Actually I thought it was my post that had the tongue in cheek humour, but then again it is probably in the eye of the beholder.

As for the lot to the south I have not consulted a map but as I am the only resident of NS I thought that was me. Must look at Google maps.

  7. I only came back on to add a smiley to my previous post andI am faced with this.  What a world we live in.

I suppose it helps keep my mind off Big Sam. At least he never played for celtic.(should have double-checked that before posting).

Don't try and crack on you did not get the bit about the perfect fit. Anyway enough, I am sure you have better things to do than bandy words with the likes of me. And the mod will be getting fidgety.

I do enough spell checking and proofing at work, I can't be arsed through a cracked iPhone screen for you peasants.

Unless it's a complete pig's ear, I don't wish to make anyone strain to comprehend.

I thought the appointment of Big Sam the saviour would have helped wash that irritation right out of your vagina rott, maybe you should try this...

    Note to all:-

Bobby only wants positive, appreciative and admiring responses today.

Don't know why proofreading gets him so tetchy, presumablyhe got knocked back when he applied for the post of advising indigenous females on personal hygiene. With his personality I would have thought he would be a perfect fit.

I disagree. He handles quality players well. At Bolton he rejuvenated Okocha, Djorkaeff, Anelka and plenty others.

He's only in the job a matter of hours and Rooney gets a hat trick.?

Was he actually in the job? Thought Unsworth was still the man for last night. In my experience all supporters would prefer boring football plus staying up to flair and relegation. Anyway I always said they should have given Koeman more time, he said they would come right.

Life must be a real blast !!!... Troll somewhere else... this thread is not for sad depressing puritans...

Sorry to be pedantic, but puritan was an early word for Protestant. Nothing sad or depressing about us.

Puritan meant purifying the C of E of popish practices, not necessarily of leading a totally pure life. Though I am sure that many of them did.

  11. Strange posts, please explain. Not sure what the three bears have got to do with it. And please "bear" in mind that the OP was related to reasonably priced gear.

Has anyone posting on here ever had a serious session i.e. eight pints or more? If you haven't.........

  12. I always return from BKK on the big bus, it is always going on to some nameless, faceless clog-wearers hovel further north so possibly if you can alight in NS you can travel in the opposite direction.

Yesterday I saw a bus marked BANGKOK - CHAINAT. But nowt direct to here. It is like seeing Celtic top of the table in Scotland, the world seems to be turned upside down.

According to the "other EL newspaper" Robinsons plan to open the 800-million-baht Robinson Lifestyle Kamphaengphet on Dec 8.

No need to fight your way down to N/S any more for better shopping but I do hope that the Immigration police will be opening a checkpoint on the southern border betweem KPP and N/S.

I always thought you were the sensible one on here.

Now you're starting to sound like 'im upstairs. :)

Just returned from a brief visit to Pattaya (on the way there I swung by the British Club for an hour) more details when I have more energy.
