That really depends on the country that you do the transfer in and the method used for the transfer. In the U.K. there is a faster bank transfer option that is virtually instantaneous. There is also another bank transfer option that takes some time that can be days. Also as I have access to both my accounts (bank and wise) online I can see that the transfer is actually required instant. You may not have the same kind of Wise account, so may not be able to see the transfer in virtually real time.

Unlikely, he almost certainly used a hacksaw blade to cut a relief slot in the cheap pot metal stub that was in the housing so releasing pressure in the threads, a method I know of but hadn’t remembered when writing before, it is also not very easy to do and if the broken section is quality SS almost impossible.

Neither superrichthailand (green) nor superrich1965 (orange) list a branch in Phuket so it looks as if it’s not one of those two (and it’s only the HQ branches that have the best rate, so it’s virtually certain that Wise is going to have a better exchange rate

Bored (Drilled Piles) in Khon Kaen, Udorn, Kalasin Area
sometimewoodworker replied to GarryP's topic in DIY Forum
That is probably going to be the answer from the local government civil engineers as well. In our case the fill was in for over 9 years and the university engineering department did a soil bearing test so we were able to use the fill in our footings as it was sufficiently compacted. A general guide is that if the fill level has not dropped to a little under 70% of its original hight you need to dig through the fill and into what was the original soil level. Also if you dig too deep do not put earth back in, aggregates and sand if compacted are OK -
Bored (Drilled Piles) in Khon Kaen, Udorn, Kalasin Area

It is a common misconception that piles are required for building, specially for anyone who watches any kind of construction in Bangkok or other river delta areas where piles are required since you can go through 30 metres or more of ooze and still not reach load bearing depth. Here with less than 1 metre footings there is plenty of support, but nearby something more substantial is needed. -
Bored (Drilled Piles) in Khon Kaen, Udorn, Kalasin Area

The first action should actually be to contact the local government offices that are involved, the OrBorTor. They will know the soil substructure and recommended support structure. In our case piles of any kind would have been redundant and a soil weight bearing test substantiated this. Naturally you can drill piles and any pile drilling companies will agree with your choice. -
The threads are stuck. Acetone is a solvent for PVC. It will also act as an extremely short term lubricant. The preservation of threads is totally dependent on the amount of force needed to remove the stuck metal, it is quite possible that the threads are preserved. as to heat. Make a few experimental joints (almost any kind will do) heat them up, you will soon find out the temperature at which you get plastic deformation, Also since both the heat level and air flow are adjustable on all decent hot air guns your question is virtually impossible to answer without being there. Also it is really useful to provide all the possibly relevant information early rather than dripping it out as the dialogue goes on.

In that case the way I would approach the problem is to, using the reverse thread eazy-out, first try adding acetone around the threads using something like a pipette plastic if the acetone doesn’t eat it or glass if it does. the danger there is that acetone vapour is not exactly safe to breath https://www.merckmillipore.com/Web-GB-Site/en_US/-/GBP/ShowDocument-File?ProductSKU=MDA_CHEM-100013&DocumentType=MSD&DocumentId=100013_SDS_GB_EN.PDF&DocumentUID=283119&Language=EN&Country=GB&Origin=null so a respirator with an organic vapour cartridge is advised If/when that doesn’t work then use your heat gun on the easy-out to transfer heat directly to the tap threads, being careful not to get it too hot. If/when that doesn’t work then try adding acetone as well. But respirator with an organic vapour cartridge along with eye protection is compulsory with hot acetone. respirators with an organic vapour cartridge are available in every big supply store, acetone is available in all pharmacies and probably pipettes as well

Having brought in well over 1 million baht in value of new goods over the years. I have never bothered to either discard original packaging nor make things look used. I have had my suitcases checked a couple of times and never been charged on any accompanied goods, the IOs were just interested in what the tools were used for. However I have also never brought in designer label fashion bags, accessories or large quantities of alcohol or tobacco except for 1 occasion when I had 10 litres of cheap Japanese whisky

The vast majority of people coming to Thailand never submit a TM30 as they are either staying in a hotel/guesthouse or returning to their usual address (if on a re-entry permit or not). As I said nobody fills in a TM30 on entry, also very few, apart from those staying long term here, even know of the existence of it. So your point is?

You don’t. All three big exchange companies have Head Quarters in Bangkok. So it is virtually certain that Wise will give the best exchange rate. I have no information on exchange rates on any islands.

Wrong product for the job until the thread is moving.

What I and others mean is that there are a verity of tap and screw threaded pipe fittings. Until now there has been no way to tell what you have, so no it was not at all obvious that the 2 parts were not PVC. It is still not obvious if the outlet part has a metal insert (they are usually brass) or if it is a completely PVC fitting, some judicious application of sandpaper is quite likely be able to determine that. The left handed thread easy out is quite likely to be a good part of the solution together with the heat gun. Since you have already found that the section of the tap that broke off it is clear that the pot metal is fragile once it is clear if there is a metal insert in the pipe or not then the method that has a chance of success can be suggested. This may involve acetone and heat but a mask with an organic gas filter will be helpful, these are widely available and not expensive. Not with any chance of success. your best option, if you can get the bits out is to replace the cheap taps with good ones

The answers to your question are maybe, yes or no. Also that extractor is almost exactly the wrong thing to use depending on the bit that is still stuck. As has been repeated without pictures the correct method is difficult to decide. If the 2 parts are PVC I can guarantee that your extractor together with heat will not work or will distort the outer part enough that it is useless. There is no point in detailing the different correct methods without seeing the problem. Since you can post pictures, take some and post them. that extractor is designed for metal threaded parts like steel pipe.

Having just visited the U.K. where I have a reasonably large sum for my next years living expenses I researched this carefully. superrich green HQ has a better exchange rate for cash £50 notes than Wise (it is also better than the other 2 big players) however it is minimal (as in ฿1,700 extra in about ฿1,000,000) so it is not worth the bother of carrying about 460 notes to Thailand then 1,000 Thai notes to the bank, along with the expense of getting to the HQ in Bangkok. For much smaller amounts then large denomination notes are an easier way

90 day online report problem.
sometimewoodworker replied to CFCjeff's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How are you penalised? Is it such an imposition to take another 5 minutes (if you are really really slow) to submit an online report? the requirement is to report for any period of 90 days, if you report on day 76 of course your next report period is 90 days from then! Otherwise the report could be 111 days after that report assuming you reported in person. you really should think things through, or get some nice cheese to go with your whine. ???? -
