Every order I have placed, from a 58 baht item and up to thousands of baht has had a tracking number, many were free shipping, probably 40+ items this year. So while it is certainly possible that there are items shipped without tracking I’ve not seen any for over a year, if that and probably a couple of hundred items ordered. I have never had an order go missing. You are correct 3,500mAh There are so many possibilities of LiFePO4 18650s it is pointless. I know of at least 5 different physical configurations so if you multiply those by the possible maximum charge along with the number of brands etc you are probably looking at well over 100 possibilities so it’s totally pointless to give links that are unlikely to assist
-
Didn’t you notice that it was free shipping? So the shipping is included in the price and the shipping cost is virtually the same for 2 as for 10 And why restrict yourself to 1800 mAh? There are believable capacities of 350mAh available.

No point really, as they were only examples of the fact that the items you want are easily available. If you actually want to order them then you have to do a bit more research to find the exact configurations of the batteries you want. My experience is that once I know of the availability of a product I can refine the search. I don’t expect others to do my work because only know exactly what I want. But as you seem to be challenged in the search terms, the rocket science I used was (lifepo4 18650). Good enough?
-
Your search terms are probably wrong, it took me about 5 seconds, these are button top, flattop are equally easy to find You misunderstand the meaning of tape. It is not adhesive tape. See the above video. It is metal tape that you weld. you would weld on metal tape that you can then solder to. trying to solder directly onto a battery without doing damage due to overheating is a skill that I haven’t attempted and may not be achievable without serious equipment. Soldering onto tape is the way virtually all home battery packs are made.
-
I don’t do Shopee however you can see the power jack so you need a power supply to power it. Better to uses a self powered version. The standard is to have them side by side, it is virtually impossible to solder or weld end to end directly. You would have to weld on tags then solder/weld the tags (very Heath Robinson) to each other. For inline use just get batteries that aren’t flat, no welding required. It is for connecting the batteries to each other. No you don’t you will get a far better connection with tape along with better electrical power between batteries, just use thicker tape. This is how to construct a battery pack. Don’t buy cheap, you won’t get fake Don’t buy cheap, buy from AliExpress and not the cheapest

Battery spot welders are freely available on both Lazada and AliExpress. Without a power supply they are under ฿300 with an integrated battery they run from about ฿500 to ฿900. The connection metal tape is also easy to find, along with the required Kapton tape I would not advise soldering as the heat required can easily do nasty things to the batteries or charging circuits

Taxfree gift to spouse
sometimewoodworker replied to Lamphen's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Independently of the suspected nature of the gift, you are doing a disservice by posting faulty information. There is no need to have legal training to go to the actual source of the rules, had you done so you would have found that the website you quoted, without making clear it wasn’t your own information, was giving bad information. That you didn’t bother to check and are even now not accepting that your post gave bad information is just compounding your errors. TLDR don’t believe/quote websites without checking -
Taxfree gift to spouse
sometimewoodworker replied to Lamphen's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Your statement, even though it’s actually a quote, is wrong as it is incomplete. it is only gifts above the limits that are taxable. It is quite likely that the majority of gifts are under the quite generous limits so are both untaxable and undeclarable. There are few people who cannot receive gifts. -
Taxfree gift to spouse
sometimewoodworker replied to Lamphen's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
It is assessable income as you have received it. After getting it and declaring it on your return (if you need to due to total remitted) you can do anything you want as it has been assessed. The advice I have received is that it is untaxable and undeclarable Caveat: There are opinions, that are not supported by professional advice (or that the poster refuses or declines to independently substantiate), that the giver has a tax liability even though the gift is not remitted to them originally or through their Thai account. The rules for gifts are on the TRD website, in some circumstances gifts to anyone are allowed, details on the TRD website. The rules are not the most simple so very careful reading and professional advice are a good idea. TIT YMMV -

A correctly documented gift, under the limits, is I untaxable and undeclarable by the recipient. the rules are well documented on the TRD website so there is little point in repeating them. There are opinions, that are not supported by professional advice (or that the poster refuses or declines to independently substantiate), that the giver has a tax liability even though the gift is not remitted to them originally or through their Thai account. The uses that the recipient makes of the gift has limitations that can be established by referring to a professional adviser, as I did. The advice was from one of the director of one of the big 4 accountancy firms. TIT YMMV -
Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
sometimewoodworker replied to impulse's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
They may well work for as long as the iPhones but they only get system updates for half the time that iPhones do, so as long as your banking apps continue to work and don’t need the current or last system updates then you are OK. But the banking apps usually will stop working if you can’t update the OS so you are stuck. If you are happy making calls and taking pictures the android obsolescence is no problem. -
To get a reasonable quality one you need to start at something like the HT-19 Handheld IR Digital Thermal Imager, I paid a little over ฿12,000 you can pay a little as ⅓ the price or upwards from 3 times the price. The reviews I read said that for a non professional or semiprofessional that the HT-19 was the best value for money.

Water tank empty daily, no visible water leaking anywhere
sometimewoodworker replied to how241's topic in DIY Forum
Only 8 months 😉 -
The reason for not using a random circuit neutral is that the recommended practice is to use an RCBO for each circuit and grabbing a neutral from a wall socket will virtually guarantee that at least 2 of your RCBO’s will instantly trip. That Thailand is just getting round to a single house RCBO doesn’t change the recommendation for multiple RCBOs just that few do it

The factory is near/just off the main R4 road and is where the make all the wood frames and benches for the tools on the main page of the site, the shop is close to/in the town centre not far from the Chedi and is quite small. I got my router table from the factory.

It is certainly possible that the OP has no knowledge of the normal terms, it is equally possible that Charlie doesn’t either. However nobody who is involved in woodworking will use the word jointer to mean a biscuit jointer. The OP doesn’t visit the forum on any regular basis, is in an area with excellent tool shops and hasn’t contributed anything to clarify what was meant, so it’s just speculation. BTW which of the premises did you visit? The shop or the production warehouse/workshop?

There are a few things, apart from the CPU, that the MbP can do that the MbA can not, or does better. So the benefits and value for money depends on your need, or want, for those. But of course the same is true for the Air. So only you can know which is best overall for you.
-
True. However it also has problems with UV damage and can become rather brittle. My preferred material is PP-R as I have had leaks with PVC. With PP-R once welded there is no possibility of a leak. I now only use PVC for waste water which means that any leak will cause virtually no problem .

Is It worth Paying NI Top-up?
sometimewoodworker replied to LuckyLucas's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Though I don’t know the meaning of SPA, I would be interested to know why exactly would paying for years between 2006 and 2016 (assuming that you would need some of those years to get the required number for a full pension) would not increase your entitlement. Again why do you say that. I certainly needed 35 years according to the DWP to qualify for a full pension and I can assure you I started working in the last century. This is of course a minimum and contracted out years will be excluded or extend the number required as in your case. -

People generally have a reasonable idea of their health, while I certainly can’t predict the future I ams planning projects and activities for quite a number of years and have been a pensioner for coming up on a decade. I can’t predict my life expectancy but barring accidents and medical issues I will probably have 2+ decades of pension before starring at the local temple -

sometimewoodworker replied to LuckyLucas's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
It rather depends on when the option to take a lump sum arrives. It is extremely likely to be at the point you can claim the pension. Thus at that point you don’t have a pension far less a frozen one. If that option were available from April this year it represents just over six and a half years of pension payments. Given that the U.K. life expectancy is a bit over 82 years you would be throwing away about £100k, (if the pension age were 70) much more than that if you exceed the average lifespan by a number of years and it will take quite a few years to raise the pension age to 70. It is irrelevant if you have other income you will be loosing over ฿500,000 per year. I don’t know anyone who has the slightest grasp of math, however much income they may have, who would think that doing that is a good idea. Also if they are independently wealthy then the £80k will be insignificant and they certainly didn’t become independently wealthy by having no math ability or being unable to employ those who are not mathematically challenged. The only people for whom it could make sense are those who are virtually certain that they will die in less than 6 years from being able to claim their pension -

For the majority of recipients a lump some equal to about 9 years is probably a bad deal -

The state pension is an incredibly generous (for the amount you pay and get) investment usually you break even with 4 years of pension. Is the general guidance from gov.uk However you maybe able to top up previous years that are incomplete DWP will be able to advise. You need 35 years of contributions to get a full pension. you haven’t mentioned how many years you currently have but from the information in your post it is only 5! Is that correct? you should get a written statement from the pensions office, that will give you your exact position and the years that you can top up or pay in full. The online statement is only an approximate one and you need the written one to be sure despite the naysayers you would be incredibly badly advised not to make sure you have 35 years of contributions before you retire. I was able to pay incomplete and missing years, I have already got back 2½ times the amount I paid
