  1. Is it working for you today [lease? Last time no issues but cannot get beyond log in, same password , I have tried Chrome is it compatible or is another browser always better IE Safari FF etc? Chrome I read is the most popular. Or would the app be a better bet, I am not sure I want my passport details on a phone that could be lost or stolen. Also what is the window is it same as in person weeks early up to one week late please? They are trying like SRT to use latest technology which should save us all time but I have the feeling like so much that software contracts are not always on proven merit?
  2. I assume you do not have a Thai or Myanmar ID, the old footbridge crossing in town centre was closed to foreigners last month due I believe to internal factors in Burma. The new out of town crossing is for border freight only I was told not foot crossing for foreigners certainly. To save a wasted journey I would await reports here or why not call Thai immigration, Of course they cannot control what the other side does, but will know on the day ? Good luck Address: 117 Wiang Phang Kham, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai 57130 Hours: Closes soon ⋅ 4:30 PM ⋅ Opens 8:30 AM Fri Phone: 053 731 008
  3. Thanks so much for your calm informed helpful advice over many years. I am sure I am not alone in benefitting from your posts that save time fuss and anxiety Many Happy returns
  4. Good luck as Joe says 60 days will give you some breathing space. Perhaps you may wish to take family to your native country ? You give scant info but do the kids have foreign passports, this may be something you wish to consider and whether rex wife consents etc. There are many other types of visa via employment , vacation , our experts here may have other ideas for you. believe being a parent if your child is under 18? Then depend n your age you could possibly try for retirement if over 50? I have wondered what happens if Thai wife dies, do they allow enough time to season the 800k , even if imported day 1 it won't allow a 60 day extension 2 months required. Would I be better as an insurance and not wishing to leave the country deposit an extra 400k on top of the 400k in my Thai bank used only for non O marriage route please?
  5. Mine will expire a about 3 months after earliest date my office will accept renewals, they took 7 weeks las time.
  6. Not done since Covid, is it still essential for weekend, as they will be gone before Immi Office reopens Mondays. I wish to do everything correctly however inconvenient as wife fined 800 baht for not re reporting me. 1 Czech citizen invited couple to visit, my Thai partner's house, Chanote etc in her name, she is away. 2 My guests are Czech man and Thai woman My Questions 1.Do I have to register both or only foreigner, form I 2. I see has TM6 request but I did not receive one on my last entry, I thought they have been abolished but I entered by air, Are they still issued at land/river crossings please? 3. Can I do this online, a link to an app be very helpful please anyone? 4.Can I do by post as far easier than drive to Office and can be done within 24 hours of arrival. Also is there a list of entry point codes .His last by land from Laos Friendship Bridge.I once had a list of entry points maybe provided here or an Immigration website Thank you in advance for May help, my guests due weekend
  7. You must be a time traveller? The long awaited railway to C Rai is still after many years at the construction stage, perhaps your iced ale was to Chiang Mai. Only a Johnny WALKER can get to C Rai from Den Chai at present due to the old buffers and sleepers at SRT planning.
  8. I have been dealing with same office for a while, the requirements size , how many per page seem to vary, as they send off to C Mai for approval. Luckily I am close to their office , print shop so no big deal. I realize for some less mobile or a long over night trip in some areas you wish to be prepped for anything so call and ask them what size they wish. I always arrive with a few spares a "Pritt glue stick" and plenty of time. Last renewal applied 55 minutes , collection 6 weeks later 10m so just over an hour of my year 1900 baht DIY 200 for the bank letter same day, 120 for the pix at print shop so 6 baht a day to live in LOS Since Covid I've avoided being first in morning and try t be first after lunch about 20m as I know they all wish to knock off early at 4, there is now a pleasant waiting area aircon, free drinks wi-fi , comfy sofas so no stress compared to hot dusty queues I recall when employed by the state and expenses paid journeys to Soi Suan Phlu?
  9. Re the 20k to show There were large signs in English right at the foreign entry desks at Mae Sai last time I looked .That border is closed. I sometimes have that amount in Thai or $ but always carry my bank book and a few visa cards. If push came to shove my wife could walk the 5m to teh ATM to "top me up" I have a non O and in 25 years have never been asked to show cash/onward tickets nor questioned by any immigration entry officer. I have been asked by Australian airlines to show visa/onward etc but that is another issue to the OPs concern. I may not be Saville Row but I do not wear flip flops shorts or similar 'casual' attire sported by many older gentlemen who wish to appear youthful or as once used "with it". I very much doubt a person with a valid visa who reasonably dressed, calm , polite will have any issues. I do always carry a cell phone with wife and lawyers number as not fluent Thai speaker yet!
  10. Thailand post seems to have got slower and more expensive, poor tracking. Any other ideas, UPS EMS , Kerry etc? Apologise if in the wrong thread , mods feel free to move as you think fit. I will be sending small unbreakable gifts , silk, books etc with values around 4000 baht $100 to France Czechia and Ireland
  11. Can anyone update this please. Can a Thai card be used to book the high speed trains?
