    You'll find this interesting:

    From http://www.boe.moph.go.th/boedb/surdata/disease.php?ds=31

Seems like the R506 source and it doesn't seem to match with HDC data.

In any case, here's 2019 R506 for comparison:

Source: http://www.boe.moph.go.th/boedb/surdata/y62/mcd_Pneumonia_62.rtf (Just replace 62 with another year for more)

So what is that telling you

To give a baseline figure, the count was 11,170 on May 6th, I recorded it in the evening. It's now 12,044, so 874 people in the provinces have been reported to die of pneumonia in about 8 days, on average 109/d. IIRC the 2019 average was about 60/d.

In Thaweesin's chart above, looks like about 700 cases a week and those are not even deaths. It stinks to high heaven.

You sure the figures on May the 6th were not for the end of

April which would seem to be normal

Actually what I do after each month is download the bank statement (Kasikorn has an Excel downloadable) for that month for my own records.

So I could print 12 months worth at moments notice, except it won't be bank-certified.

Kbank can give you a 12 month of statements on the same day you get your letter from them

I know, right? And here we are in the middle of May with no mounds of dead bodies and no apparent social media posts about mounds of dead bodies. And, yet some people want to keep thinking critically about the numbers we are being given in these summary reports. Perplexing.

We're lucky to get stuck here before the rest of the world got taken by Covid-19. Only better place than here might be China if you look at the numbers. They pretty much dropped their new infections to zero per day for a country of a billion people. Good job, China!

I was visiting my brother in law in ICU in BKK the unit was not over run when I got there was 6 empty units out of 20 when I left 2 patients went to a normal room so there was 8 beds available, nobody was wearing virus protection other than masks

"However, there are four more infected people from the resort island of Phuket, who will be included in figures to be reported on Monday, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, spokesman for the government's Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration."

So 9 cases today, not five. How can they say with a straight face that there are 5 cases but and additional four will be reported on Monday? Those cases didn't surface on Monday, they surfaced today.

    What a crock of S***

They will have a cut off time when they stop taking new cases if those 4 come after that time they will not be included that is the only way to keep the figures meaningful

Does it really matter when the cases are shown as long as they are shown

Just 1 positive out of a population of 70 million....... the daily flatulence from the ministry!

Magical Thailand, next illusion feeding their own people.?

Maybe tomorrow they can go for zero positive from a total of 3 tested nationwide!! with a crowd of generals all back slapping pointing at a huge zero in congratulations.

What a photo op that would be along with some photos of the queueing Thais waiting for a food handout from a group of farangs!!

Why all this about not testing, the UK have quadruple there testing over the last few days I would have thought we would see increase of cases from there but no increase only a decrease in cases and deaths so maybe testing is not everything

They now have a problem in that the test kits, whatever they are, have finally reached the provinces (at least Phuket and Yala, a good thing in itself), but the local labs are leaking the results to the public, instead of MoPH backing them up in the backlog in Bangkok.

Hard to keep the propaganda intact.

Only the people that are in hospital are called confirmed cases any that not require being in hospital are not counted so maybe the 40 are not hospital cases yet so now they not know how to count them

Never a word about Chiang Mai, for all we know the last case was 40 days ago. Yet we are still on lockdown supposedly until the end of May. Most restaurants are closed, anything resembling a park is closed but wow the lines for free food are l-o-n-g. So, the secrecy of China and who can believe those numbers? And still locked up. There must be a lot of secret covid-19 virus seeking around.

Chiang Mai last case was on the 9th April

There are 20,000 temples in Thailand so there won't be any need to queue. The hospitals don't overload because they just send people home to die a natural death then get cremated at one of the aforementioned 20,000 temples.Cover up  complete!

That would be true if the cases were spread around the country but there are about only 10 provinces that have most of the cases so that is where the overload would take place

Same comments over and over and over again. We all know there should be far more tests and traces. The numbers given for the past two days have been single digits. We don't believe that of course, but I just want some restrictions to be lifted now. Shops, hair salons, restaurants etc with 'safety' measures in place. If you want to stay home then stay home.

BKK have ask government if they can open on a smallish scale

I do not know why we need to wear masks too, especially if they check temperature everywhere. If my temperature is ok, that means I am healthy and have no virus, if i have no virus why they enforce us to wear mask. I personally cannot stand a mask. Breathing very difficult, very uncomfortable. Very, very bad experience. The thing that make me sad i cannot see smiles on other people. I feel like someone deliberately wants to damage mental health of population. They want us feel sick, fear everything and be alone. Also this social distancing you know how bad it is this feeling. We humans are social creatures being social for us is essential. Touch someone, make a handshake - this is essential. I would prefer live free or die trying rather than accept all that quarantine enforcements.

I think you miss understand me i think everybody should wear masks I am 75 years old with a son to look after. The WHO. says only people infected should wear mask but with this virus who knows if they have the virus many people not have systems and have had the virus without knowing but they still can infect others that is why mask should be worn

The WHO. says that mask not help protect against the virus but say that it helps protect health works that seems strange to me

I also think that Thailands use of masks as helped get the figures down what ever they are

"Seven other new cases were reported from the southern province of Yala, where authorities are aggressively testing the population because of high infection rates there, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for the government’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration."

High infection rates? If there were high infection rates, why haven't they been tallied in the daily numbers? I have to say there is definitely some B.S. and chicanery going on. They keep talking about the high numbers of cases but then they report few cases. Just like with the treatment situation in BKK. They report few cases and then say the hospital system is having a hard time keeping.

    Anyone else smell something fishy?

Yala is in the top 6 for infections in Thailand
