Yes, that post is a real truthful post and has merit, where the statement he made about earth movers piling dirt in front of villages has no facts in essence one can find anywhere, is the point I was making.

I posted another link on an edit that showed a pile of earth on a road

Yes, he must be, because if what he says is true, that "Earthmovers used to pile dirt on the lanes at highway checkpoints. People unable to even leave their villages", then I am 100% sure that it would be all over social media with the title of "We have been trapped in our village please help us" I think people would be all over it if this was true.....so another fake news story.

How about this one to start with  https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1158944-police-speak-with-german-expats-accused-of-demolishing-coronavirus-barrier-in-chiang-mai/

And this one from yesterday https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1158805-now-thats-a-checkpoint-thou-shalt-not-enter-trat/

Exactly right and also is it a coincidence that most of the announced deaths recently are foreigners. Where did all the Thai deaths disappear to?

I saw a graph showing nationality split of people with covid recently and Thais were the obvious majority.

Foreigners were the minority few hospitalised, but most deaths announced recently seem to be foreigners.

    Go figure!

last 2 days deaths were 3 foreigners 2 Thai

If ICU beds aren't running at capacity, then a 10% increase in business might still be within their normal capacity. I wouldn't assume that they were running at 100% full prior to this.

I still say that a 10-12% increase would not be "visually obvious and impossible to paper over." I think that kind of fluctuation happens all the time and we don't see it. I get that you and others are convinced you would (and, so I'm going to stop trying to make the opposite point). I just don't think we would.

But you forget that over half of the infections are in BKK so I would think if the figures are not true BKK hospitals ICUs would be over loaded by now

Depends on how many test are actually being performed daily... for around a 100 cases every day the measures in place seem harsh, unless the government know the figures are higher as people are not being tested.

Should you wait till the numbers get high before you do anything, also not sure I believe the numbers but just hope they are correct

    Cheap shot.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for Thailand or any other country to have any idea of actual numbers of infected people either current or past without massive testing including antibody testing to detect the number of previously infected.

I cannot understand why all this fuzz about testing, how much time is going to be wasted in testing when all that time and services can be use for normally sick people

Quoting figures from the BBC 163194 people have been tested there and 33718 were positive that mean about 130000 were wasted and could have been used to test health workers

Did he give an inkling of why?

All I see on this thread are number of cases, but not number of tests? Without tests (positive AND negative) who knows what real damage is out there or when it will be safe to go out.

We only need to see how many people are sick in hospital why do we need to see how many people that only slightly sick

That type of testing is only needed after the worst is over you see how dangerous it is
