Good morning to you lovely people.

Just off to see Francine whose string broke yesterday causing her onions to fall.

And got an email from Marion in Spain, who tells me it is very could and wants me to warm her.

    Mr Owl is back tomorrow.

I wonder if he will be looking a little pale after all that time without sunlight on the inside?

I take it there's no quarantine required between the shed and the house?

People arriving in Phuket placed under a mandatory 14-day quarantine are allowed to roam the hotel where they are staying, and are not confined to their room, the Phuket health chief has confirmed.

He obviously doesn't grasp what "cross contamination" means...

I'm sure  he does. It means a person getting angry with the first one who passed on covid to them.

However, there will be harsh penalties for any people under quarantine found outside their hotel area,

    Talk about mixed messages.

(from the link above)  The same guy  [Dr Thanit] said:
"Please do not go outside the hotel. That would be a good preventative measure in Phuket province," he added.

What a pathetic statement. "Harsh penalties", followed by "please".

No physical enforcement means people will do what they like.

The Immigration Bureau has announced it will prosecute, to the fullest extent, Thai nationals making illegal crossings to and from Myanmar, while tightening border protection.

the thai definition of 'action' ; 'talking of action'

Have I remembered this correctly regarding the first Thais with covid who crossed back to Thailand illegally:

Didn't our glorious leader put the prosecution of them on hold?

  5. I see it doesn't specify whether the 50 returnees had originally left Thailand officially (as opposed to sneaking out over the border).

I do notice the TNA article says:

"Of the 157 new cases, 90 were locally infected, 42 were confirmed through active case finding, 21 sneaked in and four were quarantined arrivals."

It appears that after tightening the border for some time now, people are still able to 'sneak in'.

The wife was on the loo and couldn't give rice to the monk the other day. She asked me to give it. No problem! But I didn't get on my knees; just called him over and tipped it into his pot. I got the 'thank you' verse all the same. Later, when the wife found out that I'd not even bowed my head she was not best amused. "You must not be higher than monk," said she.

Surely, the reply should have been, "I wasn't higher than the monk. He was standing on the pavement, I was in the road."
