Good morning from me. And good wishes to all the posters says me and Mr Owl.
He has many pictures to share with you once his holiday has ended in a couple of days; at 32 minutes past five in the afternoon I believe.
Mr Owl has asked me to post a picture for him. The note with the email said that he had finished cleaning out the furnace. I have no idea what became of the rubbish. But as Mr Owl would put it; 'watch this space.'.
I'm glad he's due to be out on parole at last.

Rather like the queen in the UK then. She has two birthdays.

My wife has just informed me that the village "wise woman" has died. She was 93 or thereabouts as elderly Thai people are somewhat hazy as to birthdays.
You say elderly Thai people are vague about birthdays.
I remember thirty years ago hardly any Thais could remember their birthday, as so few people celebrated them. They just weren't important.
It occurs to me (being cynical) birthday parties might be a foreign concept which have become popular in more recent years, especially when there's a 'sponsor' willing to pay.

Did she sign her own death certificate?

I've just realised this is an anagram of, "Public undertaking job police paid for but too lazy to do"

“After receiving the vaccine, DDC and FDA will follow up by injecting patients for four weeks to ensure they don’t have side-effects.
How does injecting patients for four weeks ensure they don't have side effects?
I was more worried about the size of the needle required, needing that long just for one injection -'injecting patients for four weeks'

Makes you wonder why there would be 500 onboard when its alongside?
IIRC, isn't this (non-)aircraft carrier also missing an engine?
The 500 must there on permanent standby, ready to row to the nearest war zone.

I'm sure he means it was the first tip they were forced to act upon, given the circumstances.
How many times over the years have we read reports of people calling/visiting the police, only to be told there was nothing they could do?
50 minutes ago, webfact said:He also praised the media.
He said that the police could only do their job with the help of the public.
Even more laughter.
Instant 'spin doctor' - just add water.
Yet another face saving exercise, having been forced to act. Now trying to put a brave (but red) face on the situation.

(from the link above)
"However, local residents also reported that a homeless man had been seen regularly using the back of the building as a shelter, where he was protected from wind and rain on three sides.
It is believed that the man, estimated to be 55-60 years old, may have inadvertently started the fire by leaving a candle or lit incense unattended."
Seems fairly unlikely to me that a single candle outside a shophouse (presumably concrete) could ignite the building so easily?
Perhaps he's an easy scapegoat.

Unfortunately, his outburst will not change anything, and his criticism of the "corrupt officials" connected to the military government will not go down well at all.
A worrying point could be that the more publicity he gets regarding this, the more chance he might 'not' live to regret it.

Perhaps he did, but they could have ignored him. This might be a second, more public attempt?

(from the link to Phuket News article)
"Quarantine at home (Home Quarantine) or a hotel (Hotel Quarantine) under the supervision of the communicable disease control officer for a period of 14 days."
Those required to quarantine appear to have the option to do so at home. There's no way this can be monitored 24/7.
As we have seen so many people disregard the rules for their own personal interests, this appears to be a really weak link if Phuket is seriously trying to prevent a covid outbreak.
