69.5 MIL. inhabitants. 20 MIL. doses. Math never was my strong point. What am I missing here?
Well, kids don't need it and, by the time it gets here, a lot of older people will have died already. Maybe the math works. ????

"Give it to the Americans". How many Americans are there in-country? Will any be left over?

How can they speed up? The vaccines don't exist and most future production is sold already.

Personally I use a browser plugin called Stylus to alleviate site issues, if you have the knowledge or willing to learn it's worth having a play. Just about got it back to the way I like it:
Thanks, that fixed it for me.

More Pie in the Sky !
Unfortunately, if China wants this, they'll throw money at the project and likely end up owning the facilities. It's how they secure their trade routes.

Hasn't Moderna already said that all expected production for the rest of this year has already been ordered & paid for?

"develop all jetties in Phuket as "smart piers""
As the Sandbox opens in a day and a half, they'd better get cracking on that developing. ????

So;
Fact, 4.7m delivered.
Speculation; more expected.
Wake me up when it's actually delivered.

Would it be wrong to think that this was a cynical attempt to make Bangkok safer by letting the infected leave? To some, the capital is all that really matters in this country.

Makes sense.
IF you can trust asymptomatic people to stay home.
As Thais routinely ignore all rules, regulations, and laws, unless they think they might get caught, I doubt they'll isolate properly.

My reading is that, while Sinovac isn't the best at stopping you from getting the virus at all, it is good at stopping it from affecting you badly or killing you. So, my take is that it's worth having if it's all you can get.
We may well end up safer if we take more than one vaccine to cover a greater spread of variants once they are readily available.

Strange to just disappear. I'd wonder if she had some serious trouble or died.

I received my AZ vaccine today courtesy of the Thai Gov't. Of course I would and still prefer to pay for a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, via any private or public organisation. So thanks Thailand (of course I have contributed 15 years of social security, plus paid taxes). The British Embassy has done sweet FA as they always. They simply seem to be a road block to anything pragmatic or useful. I really don't understand what they do to help their overseas citizens frankly.
Agreed, I got my first dose of AZ last week, second is in 12 weeks (11 now). But if I can buy Pfizer or Moderna, I'll take that too.
I'm well aware that this is vaccine that someone else could use, seems that I'm not as nice person as I thought I was when my own life is at stake.

I'm firmly in the "get vaccinated" camp.
In a non-medical vein, I think that it is likely that, at some point, you'll need a vaccine passport to get into a lot of places. Though I know a couple of anti-vaxxers who are pinning their hopes on black-market copies. ????

The workers in the camps, are they feeding them? Water?
These people work day to day, if they don't work, they don't earn and they don't eat.

I have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca and I guess I am one of the lucky ones who had no side effects whatsoever. Many of my friends kept saying it was probably saline solution or a placebo. I laughed it off, but you guys are putting more and more doubt in my mind. Haha
I had AZ on Thursday and did have a minor short-term effect - swimming head for a couple of minutes - so I believe it was real.

How so? The Chinese are the highest spending tourists in the world. Thailand desperately needs them back. Pre-COVID they made up about 25% of total Thailand tourists.
China does nothing that doesn't benefit China. In drips and drops, by loans and purchases, they're taking over countries. They aren't an overt threat like a certain middle eastern cult is, but they will end up running the world unless other countries wake up.

I already go ( again started last week ) 2 times a week ..
im puzzled as to how ‘ international’ arrivals will get there … fly to BKK , coached to Bali Hai .. somehow smuggled onto their own individual ferry’s
then on arrival ( at either Pier ) bussed to their little hotels ?
will the ‘ piers ‘ be partitioned off for the standard person living in Pattaya and have to board another ferry ( like me ) ?What is open there please? I'm in Pats and a day out might be nice - if I can persuade my wife to get on a boat, she's not a fan at all.

Thailand has enough trouble with Chinese who come in by air. Numbers will rise greatly if these trains start. This will benefit China, not Thailand.

As a taxi user, great. As an ex-taxi owner/driver, I would have been up in arms about this in the UK.

It isn't Panama or Suez. It'll cut off around 1,000Km of sea travel, not 10's of thousands. Would the shipping companies even think the slower transit, extra admin, and charges, were worth the shorter distance?
Not to mention the possibility of the type of screwups we see whenever a traffic light is under manual control.

So, a little icon on the screen for each tourist. Click to drill down to details; name, etc, & money spent. Look after the high spenders, sod the cheap Charlies. Gone to room alone; deploy bar girl immediately.
