LGBTQ+ groups and supporters rally in Bangkok to demand equal rights
alyx replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
In an earlier post you are referring tot he high court ruling against same sex marriage: the decision was not made against, but in accordance with the Constitution. Amending, or better, as suggested by some groups, creating a new bill will be a difficult path but it is not utopian. I might add that although not officially recognised, it is "accepted" as I have had a few experiences and I was able to exercise my "right" to get official documentation. Mind you, I will keep you posted later on as we are supposed to go to the bank this afternoon to try to open a joint bank account. This was declined a few months ago as a relationship must be established in order to do so : ) -

Senior Thai officials to get taxpayer funded iPhones
alyx replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But unaccessible to 111 regular Thai Nationals (at least) This is why some are not happy. This being said , you are correct but I guess that the 111 senior officials can definitely afford more than one whereas the rest of the official might need one as well -
I am not Thai and I do not watch porn but the "majority" of my Thai circle do watch porn and would love to see it legalised This being said, I do not see how a husband, wife, son, father or mother would answer positively to these questions especially if they are not alone when polled 555 My personal poll shows an overwhelming 95% in favour 5% not against...the rest strongly opposing

TM30 reporting for visa extension
alyx replied to Dennis133's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes they are: You should check with the immigration. Aliens are to report within 24 hours. If the immigration office is closed (holidays or weekends) the report must be made at the nearest police station. (sorry no time to research the link...I let you do it, and I have done it three times. How else would one report on a bank holiday or on a weekend ? -
Hey I am having difficulties opening the immigration website to declare the TM30 https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/menu.jsp Maybe I am using an old site as the last time I did register was in February 2020 Thanks for any help

TM30 reporting for visa extension
alyx replied to Dennis133's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
One way around it is, if you arrive on a Friday or a Saturday, is to turn up at the local police station, and (insist) that they register you. They are obliged, by law to do it, even though it might be difficult. I did it thrice in the past and the last time the record of me doing it with them was quite helpful but you still need the required documents -

Thai Charter court rules that only heterosexual marriages are constitutional
alyx replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But marriage has nothing to do with religion. It is a contract between two human beings. It is only recently, in terms of humanity existence, that the Roman Catholic church held up the concept. along with other religions -

Kindly make sure that the title is corrected as it seems that this video is related to the recent floods, not tourism ! But, then again, I might be wrong
