  1. Yes, I did not think of Lazada. Thanks. I just looked and they do have a couple of choices that will hold 4 AA batteries. Too bad they don't have the cash on delivery option. It's a shame to have to use a foreign credit card and pay the fees for a 100 Baht item. But it's better driving around and looking.

  2. Until I saw this thread I thought the email was real. I was curious about the origin of the email so I did a trace. Its the 1st time I've tried this.

It appears to have originated in the USA not Lithuania. That does not mean a company in Lithuania could not have used this IP address.

    Source:

The source host name is "dedicated12.large.bmsend.com" and the source IP address is 12.110.193.62.

    Whois:

The IP address 12.110.193.62 appears to have been assigned by the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN). ARIN is the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the United States, Canada, and several islands in the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean.

  3. Try checking with these guys.

    I'm guessing your in Phuket?

If not you might want to consider flying to Singapore or KL and back. I recommend Tiger Air to Singapore myself. Fly late morning then take the train to town have lunch and be back for the late afternoon flight to Phuket. That's what I used to do but I don't know if Tiger's flight schedule has changed. But its a lot less stressful and takes less time than a mini-van to Ranong and back.

  4. Yes ymou can only choose between the setvices offeted unless you fladh the touter to an open source firmware such as DDWRT or similar. I wiuld not recommend this unless you feel comfortable with networking configurations.

Again I have no hestitation tecommending no-ip

Sorry about the numerous typos in the above. I got dragged in to an urgent meeting in the middle of my responce and anybody who knows me will know the troube I have with my eyesight causing extensive garbage in my typing unless carefully checked,

    Soory

I thought you were focusing to much. burp.gif

  5. I use No-IP.com as said its free and works well. Though, I do get weekly emails asking if I want to upgrade to a paid version. Every email says its my last chance to upgrade at this special price.

  6. Many years ago some friends of mine had a get together at one of the mothers house. One of they guy's girlfriend called the house and the mother went to find him to take the call. She found him peeing in the dishwasher. The mother went back to the phone and told the GF that her BF could not come to the phone cause he was rinsing the dishes. She was a pretty kewl lady.

  7. Maybe the jeweler was scammed and the diamond was a fake to begin with. Trying to recoup the money via insurance. I wonder if it was insured. Hell, it could have been real and still trying to collect. Nah, the Chinese couple did it. Thai jewelers are known the world over for their high moral fiber, not scams.

Armchair detective here. Indubitably my dear Watson.

  8. Are you killing them with a sharpened toothpick?

    I was making shush-kabobs.

    Do you have gekkos (jinjoks)?

If not try introducing a few, whilst they do poop quite a lot they eat bugs of all sorts and the poop is bigger and easy to clean up.

Lots, I'm from Hawaii where they are considered to be good luck to have in your house. Never kill a gecko. But I think these things are too small to even make a gecko's mouth water.

  9. We have had ticks in the house. And I mean a lot. They don't crawl along upside down on the ceiling. They go up to find a place to moult / lay eggs.

    I agree, they aren't ticks.

In my 11 years here I have never, in several locations, been WITHOUT tiny bugs, ants ?, scurrying

about many rooms but, long ago, agreed to stop spraying if they acted respecful & didn't consume

much. Often right in my hot pot which I used to empty and refill so now I just incinerate those

disrectful of my morning coffee !

I wish the best for you and your extended family cheesy.gif Bugger off biggrin.png Sorry, I couldn't resist laugh.png

On the ceiling? I don't think so facepalm.gif

  10. A photograph might help.

Perhaps with a Match-head or Cotton Tip alongside for size comparison?

I'll charge the camera and try but they're small. I think I would need a macro lens to get a decent shot.

Knowing which room(s) would also possibly add a clue or two to solving the mystery.

They can be found in all rooms but one bedroom has more than the others. I had these in an apartment I lived before, I'm in a house now. I live in Phuket by the way.

These are ticks in their infant state. If you have dogs or cats, check them and treat them.

You can use a soft broom to remove them from the ceiling and cellotape works great on the walls.

Buy Bayticol and use that to spray, not so heavy as Chaindrite and renders the female ticks infertile.

Spray the pets as well if you have them.

They don't have the shape of a tick. They are more oblong not the round spider shape a tick has. No pets here either. I've used the broom when I'm lazy but I don't like them ending up on the beds and furniture. That's why I use a wet rag.

Buy a smoke bomb, it is a bug bomb that fills everything crawly. Set it off and leave the house for 6 hours and wipe all surfaces when you come back.

I've never seen those here. Where can I get some. I'd try that if I could get it.

    Thanks for the replies.
