Safety concerns prompt people to dump their fire extinguishers
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
What you could do after all that time, find a store where they test and can do refills, ask for price. Then have the old bottle and use it, so you can see what is does after such a period and you worked with it, experience. Be aware, where you point it too. Then bring it to the store and have it tested and refilled. My car is now 20 years old, but still not on km for changing driving belt. However decided to do so. There is a mileage for it but no time. I saw the "old" belt, it looked fine, also the ball bearing for the right tension. They also recommend the water pump, as it was on the same place. And that one showed damage, however never had high temperatures. It costed me, but think worthwhile. Of course the garage "let you decide", as i asked first if it was needed. They didnt "know". -
Safety concerns prompt people to dump their fire extinguishers
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Fact is you dont put a pressurized vessel or object in heat/sun, so it could pressure up. But depends on what extinguisher, as you have ones pressurized all the time (it has a manometer) or the ones with a separate tank inside. Never the less the tanks are tested on 1.5 the working pressure, but that is when all is regulated. If you have cheap extinguisher (non regulated), maybe they are not tested at all. Does Thailand has rules about them or just anyone can sell bs extinguishers? Tanks also have destruction test (just a pick of 1/2 tank in a batch), to see how strong they are. That test is way higher in pressure. There should be a breaking plate in the system, which breaks if pressure is too high. But all in a regulated system. Now you had one exploding, so is the right breaking plate in it? As it differs from kind of extinguisher. powder has a max working pressure of 16 bar, CO2 300 bar, but breaking at 200 bar, halon do around 20-25 bar (not really commercial anymore) However if see you this movie, nothing is said about breaking plate and i dont see. The guy is doing a hydro test , demanded in 12 year age. 3X the working pressure. Also dont understand why the mechanic isnt using the proper tools, Fitting wrenches. or a safety goggle, probably dont care for getting some chemical dust in eyes, USA rules? But people now also throw away there gas tanks? It is the same, you put it in heat, pressure goes up. Where is the safety valve on a gas tank? There is only a hand valve on it and that is it. Put it in the sun and wait. Put your deodorant bus in the sun, see what happens(DONT for both matters) Or for that matter throw away the car? Tires get hotter by sun, when driving then also the pressure goes up, you could blow up your tire(s). Ridiculous they throw away their fire extinguishers. Still Thai people drive without drivers license, more then 2 people on motorbike, no light, reversed direction, drunk. -
Tourist visa via www.thaievisa.go.th

OK, didnt know that, rarely use cc and up till then, all went well when with card. But the Thai site stated, not good, money gone. And with email contact they also say, pai. Your fault. But thank you for letting me know, next time I will do so, see where it leads too. Though i hope never to encounter it again. The Thai visa system is a trap, I think. Many things questionable of what they really want. Like the question, where did you travel last 2 years, You cant do it with text, only by jpg. At first i did so txt in jpg, but changed my mind about that and did all pages to show. As in the past you had to go to embassy, they browsed through your passport to see. And Thai stamping begins with me at page 7 for first time in passport, so it is random where they put stamps, they havent used ever page 4 as begining. Was thinking about how to get all those pages in one jpg file. Irvanview and phone cam. Thai immigration is real pestering you with all that. I wonder how people will do it without computer and so. In the beginning of the application there is also a question, which is stupid , but red star. Just doubled answer from previous question, it was about nationality, I believe and I put in my main page passport copy again. Was accepted, as what are they thinking? They want you to hold your passport in a specific way and make a picture of that, that time my selfie stick(came with a promotion), which i had never used, came in handy. Most of the answers you have to give is all in jpg pics. -
Student Killed in Gas Explosion During Fire Drill
xtrnuno41 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
My company, not a small one, also did fire drills with bottles which had to be refilled/tested and sometimes you had one, it didnt do a thing. You took another and continued. It shows you cant always rely on the bottles. The bottles were taken, tested, checked, refilled on regulations for those bottles. But used for fire drill. All said in this story, in sun building up pressure and non or broken safety device. We had powder and CO2. powder you had to be "careful" with, as you could had some troubles (or not) in going to the toilet, doing number 2 the easy way. Also the powder isnt that well to use in electronic fires, as for instance in car fires. As the powder is very fluffy and gets everywhere. Not only heat can have explosion. Some weeks ago i put in a cola bottle in freezer, to make it cool in an hour. I do regulair. However i forgot, also happend before but then all is frozen. So got it out in time. But now 8 hours later, heard a bang, freezer door was open and the bottle had exploded, blasting off the cap and that one was pointed to drawer side, leaving a hole in the drawer! So quite a force. I was flabbergasted. Dont forget to take it out ! -

The "red star"questions are a must. It is weird with the questioning you cant put in text, you must put it in a jpg file. I had a photo taken by a photo shop, which had in program the demands for such a pic. Then he sent it to me in email and I used it. As in the visa application they dont say anything for what kind of pic, yha it couldnt be cropped. However how do they know? Took photo's of all my passport pages and put them in MUST be ONE file, jpg. As they also ask for that, of course with in the limit of file size, 3 mB. I used Irvanview to do so, free program to download and use. First a made a jpg with text "no traveling for 2 years, due to covid" However changed that, as it is Thailand, so guessed I had to show and otherwise could be again rejected. Also they ask bankaccount showing half year ago amount on account and recent amount and showing you didnt get under, i believe, 3000 euro Also a pain in the butt to put it again in ONE file. As per question you can only put in ONE file and that is jpg up to 3 mB tops. Be aware if you use auto-fill in your document. I used that for my adres, but then also my name was changed in the first section. There where the info is red from your passport. I wasnt aware and stupidly , I didnt double check it anymore and costed me. No visa and money gone. Though the system gives a warning for middle name, but it doesnt give a warning , your name changed. That one is very important, name red and the one on passport MUST be the same. Had though a warning from system about middle name, but I dont have. I have emailed about that, but they dont care and take your money, to be paid with only way creditcard. -

I think I got scammed by a girl from a dating website!
xtrnuno41 replied to kaleyho's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yup there was a scam going on and you should know it. IF they start talking about money for seems like innocent things. There are scams and they are way more worse, you can end up beaten or even dead. And they can be in all countries and not only by women. You know the jetski scam in Thailand?! You take the jetski, come back later and then they say you damaged the jetski, as you didnt check the jetski. But they want you to pay. But there are also longterm scams. You marry a woman, they live on you and after some years (maybe even 20 years) they divorce from you, get the money and pension and leave. Heard this story, 2 Philippines sisters, married with same nation guys. After being married long time and the guys working , the guys went for pension and they were planning on what to do as for travelling. However the sisters had other plans, they divorced, got all money out and went back to Philippines to have good live, single. NAh, just red some further in Asian now https://aseannow.com/topic/1298297-go-go-bar-guards-on-pattaya-walking-street-allegedly-attack-russian-man-who-refused-to-pay-his-bill/ That also could be a scam, you go and drink there. You get the bill presented, which is real high comparing to what you drank. If you dont pay then some guys will come and beat you up. The bill maybe would be $20, but you end up with bill of $800. It is also a world running scam. -

Yes you are right, the global economics is based on more, a big Ponzi scheme. They will never bring down population as it effects big businesses and thats a fault for our home in that system. The Chinese did once (less people), but was said to be a failure. However if you see the movie "10 billion" on youtube. Every one should agree we are with too many. Things also doesnt help much if you put oil wells on fire as in Iraki war. Very long time those wells were burning and there were a lot of them. In USA, for decades (since 1962) there is a coal mine burning. https://www.treehugger.com/the-centralia-fire-has-been-burning-underground-for-over-50-years-5204217 They dant want to do anything, afraid of what might happen and more important it is expensive. It also doenst help when you make trips for wealthy people just out of earth. To gaze out the window on (yet) a blue planet. Every launch cost a lot of fuel and material, but it seems profitable and therefor no one cares about climate change. We cut down many trees and still, all for growing population, not good. And I say it again 9000000 TONS/year of plastic dumped in the oceans !! Plankton as O2 producer, getting killed. No trees, no plankton, no oxygen, we die. But no one is really doing anything about that. Of course it is profitable to bring up climate change, by tax raising on petrol and gas from government. They dont tell you to stop, but increase tax until you cant pay anymore and driving a car is only for elite rich people. Hydrogen cars are already on the road, only not combustible ones. Cell membrane application, converting H2 to electricity, but expensive. Toyota now made such a combustible engine. Well they came out as first, but guess all other car companies have done the same and still not ready? In "my"country there are so many solar panels and most of them feed back to the grid. At one point they can not feed back anymore, as the grid is full. Now they made some apps and when it is not possible anymore to deliver to the grid, they get an "alarm". Saying, use more power, start your washing machine. It is the time for those people to think about an energy storage (battery). OK I stop as I can go on for more.

Just checked some prices on Nissan leaf, currently 735 "occasions" The oldest was 2011 156000 km, so thats old and batteries still there, costing €6195 But only 24 kWh, can not compare with the new ones, 40 kWh or even models with 59 kWh. But new one as high as just over €43000. But thats a brand new one. Depending on what you choose. Nissan has more models on electric, the newest is the qashqai and that is new, but ok starting price. Though im amazed so many leafs in younger age (2-3 years) are occasion already. A Polestar 2 from 2022, 32000 km costing €46000 and thats one of the cheapest You have some more money? Then what about this one Polestar 2 Long Range|Performance Pack 467PK|Plus Pack|Demo € 65.450 2021 1.465 km, As you read 467 PK. Or even this one? €76000 at the moment at auction. Normally new it cost €110000. 14000 km, 2021.

5 kg H2 for 300 mile radios. It s good, but then you have to fill up again. Who is going to do so? Storage of H2 is on pressure of 200-700 bar. Thats why you have the big tank. I wonder what are the connections from fuel station to car. So checked on internet and it shows this. Looks like ordinary fuel handles. So am a bit puzzled. We already have busses on H2, non combustion types. However those busses are 200000 euro/bus more expensive then an only battery driven and can drive less km, 375 km to 450 km. Well done ! 132.400 euro only for H2 cell and 130000 euro for maintenance in the cell live of 30000 hours, 1 million km. What you come up to when you start checking. IM not surprised my government is doing such things. They also bought F35's with 700 hard & software failures. So is Renault already delivering H2 vans, non combustion types. You read on and then Hyundai and Iveco also deliver and then: 6 tanks 12 kg H2, pressure 350 bar and it takes 15 minutes to fill !! But again non combustion engines. The Toyota then would take about 5 minutes? Then you also have white, blue, green, purple, gray H2. you also have at pump then, with different prices? Lithium is quite a rare metal on earth, yes it is found but never the less rare. In Chili in the desert, they are extracting Li, by injecting 20000 ltr/SEC water in the soil. Of course the water has to be real clean, no other minerals, as that gives more problems with electrolysis. More waste, as there will be waste, or maybe not, as you can use the other minerals as well. But then you need additional processes. However I think H2 is the new petrol. They can change CO2 back into fuel again, but all depends on ..money.

Marvelous those jazz big bands. I picked this one, the one in my memory. Live @ Carnegie hall! A version which took indeed about 12 minutes it really impressed me. The ritme, the beat of Gene Krupa. It took quite some time to find it on youtube. When I saw live @ Carnegie then it rang a bell, popped my brain. Stupid i didnt collect my fathers lp's. When we were sick or vacation my mum put on radio, so we could listen to "working vitamines" and he was there a lot. -
NO wouldnt and didnt. It is a strange waking up, you come down and see things, you wonder what did i do last night? But it wasnt me, someone else. The area I live in "my" country had/have many cases of breaking in. All those people also didnt move. It took me at least a half year to feel relaxed again. Going to sleep not that easy, every little sound you think wtf. Now i have pvc doors and windows with a 3 point lock. Not because of breaking in but i wanted to change anyhow to pvc

ITER 2025 expected to experiment, as JET showed it could be done. However many nations in the project and so is Russia. It costs money and Russia is doing, another and stupid thing, at the same time. So 2025? no way Jose. If China and USA, also in ITER, get some dispute over sea area's and Taiwan, then wait for next century. There has been already many delays. Maybe Thailand will be the first.

Ah there is the 11 year old rusty vios again, hahaha. Well my wife's 20 year old vios had also that problem 2 times when i was there. Doing nothing, well just switching the knob on/of several times, but didnt work. it came back after 15-45 minutes or so, but random. As switching didnt work (bad connection in switch), I was thinking about a bad wiring in the system. Somewhere it would disconnect and by bumps get together again and working then. So wiring or maybe the cable connectors on compressor or switch, oxidized? Maybe the valve (choosing normal air or airco air) is not working (also bad wiring to it, cable connector) Not in my case, as when running idle and airco switched on, I noticed there was not a drop in the electric power. And engine is more loaded then when compressor turns on. But only noticeable when stationair running. You could check that. Just sit in your car, start, put airco first off, wait until the auto choke has gone and it is in normal working mode listen and watch your rpm meter. Then put airco on and wait, listen if you can "hear" the powerdip. Also look at your rpm meter. IF you dont hear and see change in rpm meter and the car is just going steady in stationair and rpm, then the compressor is not activated and you have warm air. You can make it bit harder for the engine if you put on your lights as well, more load. Maybe you can notice it better then.
