How fast do you receive your EUR transfers with Wise?
For many years I have relied on Xendpay to transfer my pensions from Europe to Thailand. Transfers were relatively quick. I usually received my money the same day in the evening in my Thai bank account. Xendpay also had good conversion rates and very low transfer fees. But now that Xendpay is in receivership I had to look for an alternative and today I made my first transfer with Wise. They promised that I would receive my transfer within 6 hours in my Thai bank account. So far, after 7 hours no money has arrived. My I ask my co-members how long it usually takes for you to receive your EUR transfers? Some answers might give me some insight. Your help is much appreciated.

Anyone got an email from Wise asking for more info
Here is an important update for members who can't get their selfie approved. I had sent Wise many selfies of which I thought they were good. Every time Wise said they could not read my passport. Two days ago my daughter said that she understood why Wise did not approve my selfies. On the information Wise sends us they show a picture of how the selfie should be made. On that picture the passport takes at least half of the page and the head the other half. My daughter helped me to make a selfie according to those requirements, I uploaded it and it was approved, Voilà!

Seems as Xendpay bit the dust
I just read an article in the Financial Conduct Authority. They state that Rational Foreign Exchange Ltd. (Xendpay) has entered special administration. The directors of the firm concluded that the firm was insolvent and applied to court for a special administration order. In other words: Xendpay will not return. They are insolvent. Now I have to find another way to transfer my pension from Europe every month.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
Woaw, already 145 pages for this problem. I'm a Swiss national and after some research it appears that Switzerland has a Double Taxation Agreement with Thailand. Thailand cannot tax us again. Matter resolved.

Seems as Xendpay bit the dust
The problem is that Wise also starts to screen customers in Thailand and don't accept their selfies with passport. So, which company now to take for Euro transfers to Thailand?

Anyone got an email from Wise asking for more info
Since Xendpay stopped two or three days ago, I tried to log in to Wise and they sent me an email to my old mobile number. Finally, I found a link how to change my mobile number. Now they ask me a selfie holding my passport. I sent them already 7 times and seven times they tell me that cannot read my upload. Sev en times! I sent them clear photos, exactly the way they want. It's like Bitkub, same problems. I'm at the end of my Latin, how we say in Switzerland.

Seems as Xendpay bit the dust
Yesterday Monday, NOV 28 I wasn't able to access Xendpay, in fact, the whole day long. This morning the same. When I delved in more I got this message: Dear visitor. Xendpay Limited are currently not accepting new customers or accepting new funds. We are also currently not able to return customer funds with Xendpay Limited. We will continue to keep customers updated. Well, that's disappointing. I have been a customer of Xendpay for many years.

Anyone with a small drone in Surin province or vicinity?
This drone was actually meant to hover above our home and get a view from above. The idea to see the harvester move over my wife's land came later. For me this is not worth to spend 7000 Baht.

Anyone with a small drone in Surin province or vicinity?
Hi everyone, a few years ago drones were expensive, several ten thousands for one. Today you can buy a drone with a 8K camera for around 1'000 Baht. So, I bought one from Aliexpress, this one. I wanted to video tape when the harvester cut my wife's rice. But I wasn't able to connect the wifi. I live in northern Surin province, somewhere between Tha Tum and Rattanaburi, Is there somewhere not too far somebody with a drone (I would also go to Buriram if necessary) who could show me how to connect the wifi correctly. I add the instruction sheet. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Beware of this streaming provider
For the last 15 months I have been a subscriber of Motion TV, a provider of streaming IPTV. I became a subscriber on the recommendation of one of our fellow members here. I am a tennis afficionado. So, last year I was on the lookout for a service which included the famous Tennis Channel. MT offered just that for $15 a month. On 28/10/22 they charged me $150 for a 1-year subscription. They had my credit card details, so they felt free to push a 1-year subscription on me. As I knew that Motion Tv would push for a renewal of this subscription this month, I looked closer at my subscription and noticed that I was given a 1-year 6 connections subscription. I don't need 6 connections, as we have only 2 TVs in our home. I found out that they do offer a 1-year 2 connections subscription for $120. I opened a support ticket on OCT 10 with the request to change my subscription to 2 connections. As by OCT 18 the support ticket had not been answered, I opened a 2nd ticket with the same request. Also that one was never answered or followed up. So, yesterday was the due day to pay. This situation turned in my head last night and at around 02:00 I called my credit card company to cancel the card Motion TV has on their file. Luckily they still had not attempted to charge me, but it is obvious that they would have charged me later the same day. I wrote this message to inform my fellow members not to use this service because of no customer support at all.

Whole wheat bread from Makro
You can order yeast from Lazada, not more expensive than from your local supermarket. I use this one, Mauripan from Australia 95 Baht for 500 g, you won't be ruined and have good dry yeast.

Thailand just chose a prime minister. He’s not the one people voted for
For me this situation leaves open 2 questions: 1 What is the role of Prawit Wongsuwon now ? Does he still have any say in in this upcoming government? 2 When will the parties choose their ministers? Is there a time set already or is there a set timeline?

Rent a pressure washer?
The best investment in small time money was definitely a pressure water. I use it every two, three days. It's never in its box. Many brands available and probably equally good. I have mine since about 12 years.

General Prawit may emerge next week to clinch Prime Minister’s job due to a polarised parliament
What baffled me the most is that during the July 14 vote, all Democrat party members did not support the Pita democratic alliance.

General Prawit may emerge next week to clinch Prime Minister’s job due to a polarised parliament
What will follow is that Prawit will do everything in his power to eliminate Pita and his party. Not showcasing §112 when Pita was campaigning would have most possibly secured him the premiership. Think about it.

Thailand: Pita’s loss is Thaksin’s gain
Another scenario is likely to emerge. On the July 13 vote Pita was the only contender for the post of prime minister. Since Pita has no possible chances to succeed on July 19 or 20, that could change. Another possible prime minister candidate is likely to emerge: Prawit Wongsuwan. With all the allies he has, he could amass as many as 188 votes, Of course, all the senators would back him, so he would end up with possibly 250 additional votes, if all the senators would vote this time. Anyway, far over the required 376 votes necessary to win. This scenario is very likely and would satisfy many people who don't support Pita. The whole "coalition" of Move Forward, Pheu Thai & Co. would end up in the opposition. In my humble meaning, this is what is going to happen very soon. I might be wrong, only time will tell.

Thailand: Pita’s loss is Thaksin’s gain
It is sure that Pita made two unforgiveable mistakes before entering the elections. No. 1 was not to get rid of his shares in iTV. No. 2 was to announce as an election promise to amend §112. He could have worked on that once he would have been installed in office and the time was right. The millions of people who voted for him did not vote because of §112. Just my humble opinion.

Live Update : Will it be Pita?
So far Pita got 10 votes from the senators. But still many have to vote.
