  1. Thanks for your input, clokwise, very much appreciate it!
  2. I am convinced there must be some afficionados of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 here in Thailand. Is there anybody who could tell me where I can buy a legit CD version of MSFS 2024? Which is the best version? Not the xbox version? I used to use FSX for many years, but the newer versions of 2020 and 2024 are way, way better than FSX. Thank you in advance for any help.
  3. Thumbs up for the two stranded astronauts Williams and Wilmore! It is to hope that their rehab is going smoothly.
  4. I googled "glycemic index fruit". Reading the whole list is very, very interesting. I made for me a little list of the fruit with the lowest GI and GL. I see that all berries are the once with the lowest. Thank you, Sheryl! Grapefruit is also very low on the list. One of my favorites, but don't find any nowadays, probably can get in Bangkok city, but I live out in the sticks.
  5. I want to give this a try. Yesterday I wend fruit shopping at Lotus. I got bananas, kiwi, oranges, pomelo, pineapple, dragon fruit and Nam Dogmai mangoes. I already had some grapes at home. This morning I had a dragon fruit, an extra long banana, a kiwi and grapes, altogether half a kilo. I ha now a supply for several days, maybe a week.
  6. I think you shouldn't worry at all about having 1/2 a kg of fruit every morning if your hb1ac is around 6.0! Mine is still 9.0 which is much too high. I have been having diabetes type 2 for nearly 20 years.
  7. How about good bread and pastries like in France, Switzerland and Germany? Any people missing those? Christmas cookies when year end is in sight? I for myself bake a lot.
  8. Yes, I remember very well. I lived in Zurich, Switzerland at that time and bough a light blue Fiat 1500 1961 model like on this picture, but it had a very different soft blue.
  9. Dear Rimmer, what you forgot to mention is that during cold weather (like we have now in the North east, 11º in the early morning) everybody pee much more than usual.
  10. I had the same problem with a WD Elements 2TB external HD. I bought a new connecting cable at Shopee and my HD works again.
  11. Update: well, in the end I was able to open the statement, I did not read the message with which the statement was sent. The password goes like this: your birthday XX Day XXX month xxxx year add your last 4 digits of your mobile number registered with UOB, so that could look like: 01Feb19601234, I went to my Bangkok Bank branch at Robinson Surin and the lady who served me was extremely helpful. She was able to put UOB again back into my BBL account. After an initial trial payment of 10 Baht the lady asked me to do, UOB confirmed that they had received the transfer, after that I made the full transfer to UOB and that worked! Voila, this really saved my day!
  12. When I tried to pay from my Bangkok Bank account to UOB a couple of days ago, I wasn't able to transfer, Last month it worked. Why that happened, is beyond me. I called UOB three times within the last 24 hours. Every time I was told they would send me a statement to my email address, but so far today at 09:35 I still have not received anything. I will go now to my local Bangkok Bank in Surin province and ask them to help. I will update later again. Update: the statement just arrived, but I'm unable to open it.
  13. And nobody will object that a 38-year old young woman will become the next Prime Minister! There is absolutely no question that she will be coached by her father Taksin Shinawatra. And nobody will object to this? Just amazing! Just beyond me.
  14. What I could absolutely not live without are tissues. When I left Europe 39 years ago I used handkerchiefs. I believe that anyone on this forum couldn't live without paper tissues.
  15. The only good solution is a coup d'etat. Anyone from the Pheu Thai will definitely not help the foreigners, the ones who are debating in this forum.
  16. Yes, dear George, a coup would be the only good solution.
  17. The powers to be don't want to spend money for a digital wallet.
  18. Woaw! Here we go again. Now, who is going to be the new Prime minister? Anutin or Wongsuwon? I guess, it'll be be Prawit Wongsuwon.
  19. Well, apparently the Move Forward party has been disbanded and its members banned from political activities for 10 (ten) years. I'm completely speechless.
  20. Sounds to be an expensive setup and not even for an artisan well in the middle of nowhere. That's where I am.
  21. My wife has two lots of rice farmland next to each other totaling 7 rais. Her rice is now planted and looks nice, We are like most of the other farmers who have to depend on mother nature to get water from the sky to get the rice to grow. I ask myself if it would be possible for her to have a water well drilled and pump the water up to her rice fields via a solar powered pump. If this is possible and would cost not too much money, she would be able to plant rice twice a year. Is there anyone in the know who could enlighten us?
  22. I'm in the same league as my fellow members here. Yesterday I went to my local Tesco-Lotus to pay 10'000 Baht for my Citibank credit card bill. But the Lotus cashier was unable to transfer my money. No barcode nor QR code would work. Apparently, UOB had blocked everything. The Lotus staff told me to try at a 7/11 store. I did that, but same story. So, last night I scoured this topic and found the apparently only recently released phone number 02 285 1555. I called this morning at 06:50 and my call was quite fast answered by a UOB representative. Please note: that number might be open 24 hours. He told me that for the beginning I could make a payment to UOB with my preferred banking app which is in my case BBL. Then he said that someone from his team would call me back later to help me register on the UOB TMRW app. Actually, I had tried several times already yesterday to register, but every time I was rejected. Now I know why. I asked the UOB rep if I could check which passport number they have on file. It appeared they have my former passport number. That pp was replaced last year. I just tried to register with my old pp number and that worked. So now I have a UOB user name and password. I can at least now log in at the UOB TMRW app. I still have to create a pin code, I haven't done this yet. This post may help others who are in distress. One more thing: during the registering process you are asked for your date of birth. To put that in is a pain in the arm. I'm born in 1946, so it took me about 5 minutes and a sore arm to get there. I was told by the UOB rep that they had received many complaints about this issue and told me that UOB will soon address this problem. Good Luck everyone!
