I'm just spitballing here, but you ever considered asking your wife? You can get back to us with her thoughts.

The only people who might reply in the affirmative would be tourists...who aren't expats at all. Why not just say "Hello fellow whitey!" Since you've already excluded all non-white expats.

ATM card malfunction
Berkshire replied to Hoppyone's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Perhaps I've been lucky, but I've never had any problems with Thailand ATMs....zero problems in 15+ years. And this after making hundreds of withdrawals using both Thai bank cards and US bank cards. You were unlucky. I do wonder about the difficulty of convincing your bank that no cash was dispense even though their transaction records indicate otherwise. I suppose machine records can indicate the imbalance, but I'd imagine that would take some time. Good luck with that. -
All the golf coverage that I watch on True Visions is in English. Usually the tournaments are on the Golf Channel, but sometimes it's on another channel....still in English. Not sure yet what channel will be televising the Ryder Cup.
-
Noted. Golf Channel Thailand would typically televise an east coast final round on Monday morning 2-5 am. But for the Ryder Cup, they may extend coverage. I can't see staying up all night to watch. Might get up early to see final matches Monday morning.

Your times may be a bit off. If contested in the USA, Thailand will see it live in the early mornings.

I've actually gone through 6 pages of this thread and I'm still not sure if the OP is just jerking our chain. I'd love to see the photo of this woman....but I'm pretty certain that she'll be average looking. I haven't been "in love" since I was in my 20's. Not sure if I could ever fall in love again. Honestly, once I've done a girl a few times, I start to lose interest. Even if I thought she was "the one." That's what 15+ years in Thailand will do to you. So to the OP, if you really are hopelessly in love with a married woman, my advice is to head to the nearest bar, get shtfaced drunk, grab the nearest bargirl, and <deleted> her brains out. That should cure your ills. If not, keep at it. If still not, join the monkhood.

Are you in Pattaya? The rest of Thailand is nothing like Pattaya....so not sure what the heck you're talking about. -
It's required in a democracy. Politicians are elected leaders who--in theory--represent the people who elected them. I'd imagine you wouldn't have politicians in a dictatorship as the dictator would appoint anyone he/she sees fit. Having said that, a democracy can be a real mess if the citizenry can't even agree on basic facts. Which is what we currently have in America.

National Football League (American) NFL 2021-2022
Berkshire replied to mtls2005's topic in Sports, Hobbies & Activities
It's great to be in Thailand and still able to watch live NFL games. I was up early watching games non-stop on Monday morning. Got the Gold package, which just means channel 666 and not 672. Good enough. -
If one has received the Pfizer vaccine at the Promenada recently, wouldn't one receive a "vaccine passport" or something resembling proof of vaccination after receiving the 2nd shot? I'll be getting my 2nd shot in a couple of weeks and just wondering what documentation they will provide.

That was the fun part! I miss busting on those Trump-worshipping dudes.

Legal for employer to force workers to vaccinate?
Berkshire replied to Trujillo's topic in Chiang Mai
True statement..... [Many major corporations have announced employee requirements around the COVID-19 vaccine. Delta announced that employees who aren't vaccinated will need to pay $200 more a month for health insurance, and Uber required that corporate workers get a jab before returning to the office.] [More than half of US companies plan to require some or all of their employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the year, found a survey first reported by Reuters.] https://www.yahoo.com/news/majority-us-companies-theyre-planning-174216969.html
