  1. When you are enjoying that bliss on the 25KWH charger approximately what actual charge rate shows on your Seal/charger app?
  2. Thanks....as mentioned it wouldn't accept my Bangkok Bank "Mastercard" debit card....and as you said it would not accept your Bangkok Bank "UnionPay" debit card either. Guess ReverSharger and Bangkok Bank don't get along. As as you know where you add a payment option it specifically says "credit/debit" card which means it would be happy with either a credit or debit card. But this is another good example of while a person may be able to registerwith a charging app no problem they may have problems in setting up a payment option which then makes the registration a waste of time and can make a person feel like they wish they had never registered/given any personal info.
  3. And today/31 Dec I had another less than satisfying experience with a PTT EV Station Pluz charger....or, maybe I should say the EV Station Pluz "app." Today the wife and I decided to go on a trip to Bang Chan (getting fairly close Rayong), to Utapao, and Pattaya. Total round trip was 428Km...with around 70% of that trip on the Bangkok-Chonburi Motor/Tollway (free tolls today) where I zipped along in the 100-120KmH hour ballpark. First went to Bang Chan to visit where the wife and I use to live a thousand years ago (oh, how it has changed). When arriving I wanted to top-up the battery charge to ensure we had plenty of electric fuel to get back to Bangkok. Stopped at a PTT station in Bang Chan and when trying to use the DC Fast Charger the app, repeat, the app simply couldn't make a connection to the app servers to talk to the charging station...I just got a little queue wheel going around and around like a youtube video that will not start playing. After watching the little queue wheel for approx 2 minutes I restarted the app....tried again....still had same problem. Then I decided to restart the phone and although the charging app queue wheel still occurred it "finally" make a connection to it's servers after about 1 minute which is like an eternity when staring at a screen. Then I continued to use the app as normal and did a 15 minute charger to add a 22% charge top-up. I have used the PTT charging app numerous times over the last few months and done 4 to 5 actual charges with the app and I never experienced this kind of problem....like the app simply couldn't make the proper connection to it's control sever so it could in turn start talking to the charging station. Fortunately it finally did and all went well after that....added approx 80 baht top-up charge over 15 minutes and then we continued our trip/drive around the Bang Chan area, Utapao Naval Base, Satthip, and Pattaya area. Saw lots of farangs on the sois of Pattaya warming up for New Years partying. Yeap...good trip in the Atto with it doing a majority of the trip speeding along smoothly at 100-120KmH. I notice when in the 100-120KmH ballpark it uses significantly more power (i.e., drains the battery faster) than if maintaining a speed say in the 80-100KmH ballpark. But this is typical for all EVs....if your want the electric motor to go faster it will eat more power. Genius I am. Happy New Year. Our trip today....428Km worth from western Bangkok down around the Bang Chan/Utapao/Pattaya part of Thailand.
  4. Have you guys tried to add a "payment option" yet? I too registered for the ReverSharger app no problem but I can not add my Bangkok Bank Mastercard debit card which four other charging apps gladly accepted (i.e., PTT EV Station Pluz, Elexa by Egat, PEA, and EA Everywhere apps). I also tried a 2nd Bangkok Bank debit card with no joy. I haven't tried to see if the ReverSharger might accept one of my US credit/debit cards.
  5. TG, Yea....I expect the taxi driver knows of every charging station in his drive/work area and I expect taxis also have access to chargers made only available to the taxi company they rent their taxi from (for those that rent vs own). But when a person, like you or me, might go on a long trip in their personal EV and must rely on charging apps to find operational "DC Fast Chargers" (i.e., fully charge your EV in 1 hr or less) along a several hundreds kilometers trip then that's when it can stressful especially if you are in a province that does not have any large city (i.e., in the country, sticks, etc).....the further you get from the Metro Bangkok area, Pattaya, places like that which have plenty of DC Fast Chargers the number of Fast Chargers go way down and the distance between them can start getting up to the 50Km ballpark before the next "one each" DC Fast Charger is located---and you just hope it works or is not being used when you arrive. Some people often post ""zoomed-out maps of Thailand showing it covered with chargers....makes it look like there is a charger on every soi...every few kilometers....but as you zoom-in in many rural areas/off major roadways then the number of chargers goes way, way down...and many of then are 7 to 22KWH slow chargers (i.e., fully charging an EV could take 10 hours which no traveler is going to use unless having no other choice) vs DC Fast Chargers (50-150KWH ballpark which can fully charge a EV in 1 hour or less. 7-22KWH are more for home/local area use, hotel overnight use, etc. But with above being said, there seems to be enough DC Fast Chargers available for any long trip "as long as a person plans ahead to say recharge with at least 25% charge remaining and that plan having scoped out more than one DC Fast Charger in the general area where a person plans to recharge since some chargers may be inop/in use when you arrive. Depending on where a person trip goes he may have access to many DC Fast Chargers along the way....but if the trip involves travel in the more rural areas of Thailand then more careful planning may be required due to fewer DC Fast Chargers. Right now I've registered with 4 charging apps that gives me access to around 87% of the DC Fast Chargers in Thailand but if none or few of those chargers are along your particular trip or you let your charge get too low it can create the "EV range anxiety" that we hear about all the time. In some countries that EV Range Anxiety can be worst than others....like it common in the U.S. which is a BIG country with lots of rural communities......l......o.......n.......g rural roads where chargers are few. BUT here in Thailand...a much smaller country when compared to the U.S. mainland... for those of us who live in cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, etc., and mainly travel to other cities then with just a little planning then range anxiety should be minimal to non-existent for your trip of a few hundred kilometers. And Thailand is adding more and more DC Fast Chargers everyday...at a very healthy clip....I just hope Thailand does a good job of keeping them operational 24 hours a day/7 days a week. And yea....the ride in an EV can definitely be nice compared to a typical ICE vehicle. I have a 2009 Toyota Fortuner 3.0L diesel and now a BYD Atto 3 EV. Since I've got the EV I only drive the Fortuner every few weeks to exercise it a little, top-up the ol' 12V lead acid battery. Today was one of those days I only drove the Fortuner and after driving my BYD Atto 3 driving the Fortuner was definitely NOT as nice of a ride as compared to the Atto. The Atto is a smoother/quieter ride....the Atto has more get-up-and-go....and the Atto electric fuel cost is 78%/less cheaper per kilometer compared to the Fortuner diesel fuel cost per kilometer. But I still like the Fortuner in numerous ways that I won't go into. Assuming my BYD Atto doesn't give me any problems down the road/over the coming years at this point in time I don't see myself ever buying another ICE vehicle like my 15 years old Fortuner which still runs great and looks great...I have taken good care of it since day 1....but now I only drive it every few weeks. Now don't get me wrong, ICE vehicles will still be with us for decades to come but they have probably reached a peak in total sales as EVs sales are growing fast in many countries like Thailand. Sales growth in every country will vary and I expect BIG countries like the U.S. that sales growth will be slower when compared to other countries like Thailand especially since Thailand is offering very good EV subsidies/tax reductions for at least several more years. Oh yea, there are also a lot of videos on Youtube which try to make EV appear as a fad, say EV sales are tanking, EV batteries fail all the time, etc., but I think the great, great majority of such videos are made my folks/lobby groups who want to keep ICE vehicles sales and fossil fuel sales as high as possible as long as they can as EVs is the main factor which is causing a reduction in ICEV, gas sales. Just my opinion...everyone has one among other things. Cheers and Happy Holidays
  6. I hope PTT does a better job of keeping their EV charging stations operational at above fancy/flagship PTT station. Last week the wife and I did a "sight seeing" trip from our Bangkok home to Surphan Buri City over to Ayutthaya City and then back to our Bangkok home.....see the picture below with the blue marks showing our trip route...major highways for the whole trip. The trip was only around 230Km with no need to recharge with my BYD Atto which has a 480Km range; however, we did stop at three PTT stations along the way to take a bathroom/snack break/etc., and during these stops I wanted to do some DC Fast Charging "tests"....see if the charging stations worked. I'm already signed up with the charging app and have used it successfully 3 or 4 times as several PTT charging stations....however, on this trip there would be zero success at three charging stations. All three stations had PTT EV Station Pluz charging stations with all charging stations being inop/broke/closed. At one PTT charging station someone had taped a torn piece of cardboard with the words of "broke" in Thai and at the other PTT station when I tried to use the charger I would get an "invalid QR code message" when scanning the QR code on the charging station and in the app the station didn't even appear...a PTT employee came over and told me the charging station is broke. I only wanted to use these chargers for a few minutes just as a "test" while we did our bathroom/snack break. And just before we got home (within the Bangkok area again) we stopped at a PTT station to buy some stuff at a restaurant before going home which was just a few kilometers away...I decided to charge for a few minutes as a test while the wife got the food but couldn't because in the PTT app the charger was identified as Closed (not booked...just identified as Closed in the app)....I have used this charger several times in my charging tests and it worked fine...but on this day it was coded as "closed." I checked the app the next day and that charging station was no longer identified a closed but available/operations. Yeap, on our trip the three PTT charging stations I wanted to use just for a few minutes as a test I couldn't because they were inop.
  7. Whoops....I meant to say, "So if your can "not" find the Transport Mode icon in your BYD it most likely has been turned off and then immediately went MIA."
  8. And it very well may not be there. A few days after I got my Atto in late Oct 2023 and I was playing around in the Infotainment screens/menus I saw an Icon that said Transport Mode. And if I remember right I also saw the words Transport Mode appearing in the Infotainment screen like a Notification which is what triggered me to start looking for a Transport Mode icon/setting...eventually I found the Transport Mode icon. I could not find anything/info about Transport Mode in the Atto manual. When googling Transport Mode I found quite a few links explaining what it was and it varied from car to car....it's not just a BYD thing. But basically in limits available power in certain situations like when parking the car for a weeks/etc., but normally it has no impact when the car is running. And depending on the car it can be turned on and off in different ways. I would guess that when BYD ships a car from the China factory all their cars are set to where the Transport Mode is turned on...and then it gets turned off by the dealership when delivering to the customer...and apparently the dealership may forget to turn it off sometimes. Anyway, in my Atto it showed the Transport Mode was on, but when trying to turn it off it would always ask for a password which I didn't know. Some more googling revealed the password was 1111 (i.e., four ones). When I entered the password Transport Mode got turned off. I then left the area/menu were that icon was and when I went back to that area/menu a few minutes later that Transport Mode icon was gone...nothing there...it had disappeared...MIA....and it's been gone ever since. I haven't found from my googling in how to get it back but based on that googling it all depends on the particular car as to what sequence of button/menu pushing you need to go thru to turn transport mode back on (or off). So, if you can find the Transport Mode icon in your BYD it most likely has been turned off and then immediately went MIA.
  9. A case of not being able to take possession of the car on/before 31 Dec (not your fault but since BYD can't deliver by 31 Dec) AND register the car by end of Jan 2024 to get the full Bt150K govt incentive from the govt. An incentive that changes to Bt100K beginning 1 Jan 2024. I've been wondering how EV dealerships would handle the lower incentive....just raise prices to offset the lower incentive which allows them to make the same profit....OR, just keep the prices the same by absorbing the lower incentive. I expect that decision has already been made by the car manufacturers/dealerships but they will keep that decision close-hold/top secret until they have to show their cards. But Merry Christmas and glad to hear you are getting a Seal.
  10. Update regarding the ReverSharger app: while I had registered with ReverSharger I had "not" setup a payment option...that is, enter a credit/debit card to pay for charging. I tried this morning (multiple times) with two of my Bangkok Bank Mastercard Debit cards for two different accounts and the app does not accept them....I simply get a "Your card is not supported" message. Now the card entry area does say "Add credit/debit" so that means it should be happy with a debit card...a lot of apps simply say "credit" but they still accept debit cards. The ReverSharger add credit/debit card area "does" apparently allow entry of a "non-Thailand" credit/debit card as you have to select the country of the card is from in a pull down menu when entering the card info. I may attempt entering my Krungsri Visa debit card or one of my "U.S." credit/debit cards in the future (the US is in their pull down menu) if I really need to start using the ReverSharger app/chargers....but until I need to start using ReverSharger I probably will not attempt to add my Krungsri debit card or one of my US credit/debit cards as a payment option. The app does not offer any other payment option such as QR payment. As mentioned earlier the PTT EV Station Pluz, PEA Volta, Elexa by Egat, and EA Anywhere charging apps happily accepted my Bangkok Bank debit card. Yeap...this is an example of where a person may be able to register with an app....think they are home free now and decided to leave loading a payment option till later as you don't want your card info in the app system until you really need to use the app...but when trying to setup a payment option they run into a brick wall. Goes to show until you register, set-up a payment option in the app, and do an actual charging test you just don't know if a charging app will work out for you.
  11. Misty, Thanks....and Wow!!!!...quite an obstacle course you successfully ran....all because of having the 1st LTR issued via the evisa process. And if you had had your 1st LTR visa issued in Thailand vs via evisa there wouldn't had been any "switch LTR visa type" obstacle course to run--or at least an easier and shorter one. Happy Holidays.
  12. Update: Ok, to date I have registered "and successfully used" the following chargers/charging apps which gives me access to approx 3,089 DC Fast Chargers (CCS2 connector) out of 3540 DC Fast Chargers (CCS2) in Thailand. Or said another way, I have access to 87% of the DC Fast Chargers in Thailand. And when I say "used" I mean just for a few minutes each time to ensure the app, me, chargers, and EV get along--real world 100% operational tests. Just getting registered and payment option setup with an app does not confirm it will work for you until you do an operational test. And during those operational tests you learn about the small differences in how the apps operate, how long they take to make a connection/to start charging, and also how long to disconnect/close out the charging session. All my uses were with DC Fast Chargers...I didn't use any Level Two 7-22KWH chargers also offered by the apps/charging stations. You use the apps the same way with the slower Level Two chargers...I was only interested in using/testing DC Fast Chargers to "quickly" charge. I only plan to occasionally use DC Fast Chargers when/if making a long trip which will require me to recharger before I can get back home here in Bangkok. My day-to-day charging is covered by my home 7KWH wall chargers. As a payment option in the apps I use my Bangkok Bank "debit" card (Mastercard) to pay directly with the debit card or top-up my wallet in each app....and a few of the apps also allow direct payment via QR payment or QR top-up of your wallet.. And in those case where an app required an ID/passport to registered I used my Thai Pink ID card. Charging Apps I have registered with "and used to Fast Charge" 1. - PTT EV Station Pluz (have used multiple times) 2. - PEA Volta (have used multiple times) 3. - Elexa by Egat (used first time today) 4. - EA Anywhere (used first time today) I have also registered with the ReverSharger app but haven't tried actually using it yet. I only registered for it since Revers Automotive is the official distributor of BYD EVs in Thailand and thought access to their chargers usually at BYD dealerships for my BYD Atto 3 might come in handy some day. I also may register with the Altervim which has burst onto the scene over the last year primarily in partnership with EV charging parks at select Lotus's malls....and Atervim seems to be expanding pretty fast. List of EV chargers in Thailand as of 30 Sep 2023.
  13. Misty, In switching to a different type of LTR visa was you required to exit Thailand on the current LTR and then reenter Thailand on a visa exempt entry in order to get your new LTR HSP visa? That is, you could not just let BOI/Immigration cancel your current LTR and issue the new LTR just like when a person switches from a Non-immigrant type visa (say a Non O/OA) to an LTR visa by visiting BOI/Immigration at Chamchuri Sq in Bangkok. Also, how could a person enter on a visa exempt since your passport has a active/current LTR visa showing in it? I'm somewhat confused in what BoI requires to switch from one type of LTR visa to another LTR type. Thanks.
  14. By the way, your new ABB charger is probably going to change your love life (if PEA agrees). The girl in below video is probably going to come visit you very soon....she's really into men with ABB chargers.
  15. How did they power it up to check it out if the meter is not installed yet? My BYD charger....a Zieda model...came with a cable hanger. You could buy a water hose hanger for about a Bt100 most anywhere or buy a charging cable hanger online like the one below on lazada. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.OjdBj
  16. He meant at least 20%...a SOC greater than 20%. He acknowledged his error earlier. Notification of having at least a 20% charge is shown on the initial OTA screen(s). Like the below image I googled-up for a BYD OTA.
  17. Regarding turning off the Lane Support System (LSS) maybe the Seal is different from the Atto (which I have)...or maybe it the same/practically the same. In my Atto I "can" turn off the LSS--and that's what I have done as I got tired of the frequent warnings. I got my Atto in late Oct when it was running software ver 1.61 and last week it updated to V1.7...both versions allow LSS to be turned off. "If", repeat, if the Seal LSS is same-same as the Atto then go to ADAS, Driving Assist, Lane Support System where you can turn off (or on) the LSS....and it will stay off until you turn it back on vs only staying off the current ignition cycle. Yea, the LSS just gives too many warnings on Thailand roads which have all kinds of road markings, narrow lanes, etc.
  18. A slight possibility exists it could be the seat belt connector. Check the seat belt connector (the part anchored to the seat....where you plug in the seat belt...the part that you use to release the seat beat). Look to see if anything like dirt, paper, sand, etc., might have got into the connector causing a funky connection/weird warning when combined with the seat sensor circuity. Insert and remove the seat belt around a half dozen times which might clear in funky connection.
  19. The magic of dew (condensation) and how small difference in air temperature and a surface temperature can result in condensation on the surface (or not). Expect there is a "small" difference in surface temperature between the round spot and the rest of the hood with the underlying brake fluid container/cap causing the small round area to be a slightly different temperature (probably slightly warmer) than the rest of the hood. Probably just a little more heat from the engine/drive area is probably funneled/migrated along the brake field container/cap causing a very slight heat difference on the hood. And doesn't the Seal have a frunk with certain openings like for the brake fluid container that would focus heat under the frunk to escape upwards out those openings onto the hood? Nothing to worry about.
  20. Do you have "anything" laying in that seat? Any weight like maybe caused by a granny charger, shoes, bag of something, etc., would trigger the sensor in the seat making it think someone is seating in it.
  21. If it's such a great idea why don't the govt just fund and build the land bridge. Oh, I forgot, Thailand does not have the funding or expertise to do so...nor do they want to take the risk of going it alone.
  22. Went to BOI Chamchuri Square immigration this morning to do my LTR one year address reporting. I live in western Bangkok so I just did it in person. A drive that normally takes 30 minutes from my home to Chamchuri Sq took a little over an hour...typical bad Bangkok traffic. Now my return trip was a normal 30 minute drive. Once arriving immigration I walked up to the Info/Queue ticket issuing window....said I'm here to do my LTR visa 1 year address reporting....the rep gave me a queue ticket and pointed me toward the 90 day address reporting area down the hall. I go to the room which can probably queue around 50 people however there is only one person waiting....my queue is immediately called. I hand the officer my passport and completed TM95 (no copies of anything needed)....the rep looks at my passport and TM95 for about 15 seconds and then starts doing something in the computer. A few seconds later a Receipt of Notification prints out (same receipt as given for a 90 day address reporting...not the little matchbook sized receipt initially given when getting your LTR visa issued at BoI) except the receipt shows my next address report is due 365 days from now. The rep also removedthe old receipt from my passport. Passport and new receipt handed to me. Done. I then ask the rep if I can report on online (they even have an online reporting sign right at the counter) but the rep says that's only for BoI type Visas which require 90 day address reporting. LTR 1 year address reporting can not do online. I then ask can I report my mail like how the BOI SMART Visa website says SMART visa holders can report....that is, either in person or by mail. The rep said she didn't know....and I didn't press the issue. Out the door I go. Basically once entering immigration I got the reporting done in about 5 minutes. My round trip drive time was about 1.5 hours. Done for another year.
  23. Got nothing to do with TOU meter...it simply applies to "any type" of 15 (45)A meter....standard meter, TOU meter, etc. PEA/MEA requires 16mm2 copper wire from a 15 (45)A meter to the first breaker (or you can use 25mm2 aluminum wire)
  24. I expect your 2nd meter, your TOU meter, is a 15(45)A meter? If so, the PEA required minimum wire size from meter to residence is 16mm2 "regardless of the type of meter (i.e., regular, TOU, etc)....wire size based on meter load amperage rating and not meter type. Required for any meter with a max rating from 35A to 50A....if your meter is 15(45)A then its max rating is 45A which will require 16mm2 wire from meter to wherever the circuit breaker. I think the free wall charger installation packages are price out to provide 10mm2 wire since most installations are from the residence main circuit panel which already has the required meter to panel wiring (i.e., not 2nd meter required)...and then the installer just needs to run 10mm2 wire from that panel to the charger to handle the 32A max charger current and there is no 2nd ground rod required. Expect your increase costs are related to the 16mm2 wire size, 2nd ground rod, PVC piping, etc.
  25. Exactly what do you mean by two separate TOU circuits are not allowed? Do you mean a person can't have two TOU meters for his residence...that is one meter feeding his residence (everything but his EV charger) and another on a separate circuit only feeding his EV charger? If so that seems very odd.
