  1. Wow...I didn't know Havel had a PHEV with that much range/that big of a battery (34KWH). Paired with a 1.5L engine. I'd been so use to seeing PHEV's spec'ed at less than 100Km electric-only.
  2. What PHEV do you have with an electric only range 160-180?
  3. Isn't there a button on the end of the turn signal lever which when you press it switches between total kilometers/ODO, Trip A, and Trip B.....and to clear Trip A or B kilometers back to zero you press and hold the button for a few seconds when already switched to Trip A or B.. That how it works on the Atto.
  4. You are probably good-to-go....I would think any 2nd mailing would have arrived by now. As to how fast SSA mailings arrive I've been hand-walking a person thru his SSA pension application which was approved a few weeks ago (took around 5 months taking in account trying to setup a telephone interview with Manila, SSA review, doc mailings, etc) and during that process they required the person to complete a new SSA card form....that is, where you request a new SSA card. Anyway he got that new card in snail mail the other day here in Bangkok and the regular airmail mailing from the U.S. to Bangkok took only 11 days.
  5. It's not until the 3 Feb 2024 payday for Jan benefits that non-receipt of a 7162 mailed back to Wilkes Barre would cause suspension of benefits.
  6. Best Selling Vehicles daily tally at the ongoing Motor Expo 29 Nov-11 Dec 2023 in Bangkok. And the top selling manufacturers are not Toyota or Honda but as of 30 Nov it's Changun and BYD. https://www.motorexpo.co.th/bestselling/
  7. Plus, keeping eyes on the road is better than looking down at the steering wheel.
  8. Yes...as you say the car must maintain cell/Wifi connection when turned off otherwise the BYD app wouldn't be able to work/talk to the car. Just one of those things that is always working in the background whether the car is on or off. And yes, I would assume Wifi takes priority over mobile connection just like how it operates on a smartphone.
  9. Headlines in Bangkok Post this morning/1 Dec that the PM was shocked to hear about the proposed price increase. From reading the article I would say the increase will be reduced or delayed again.
  10. Like when your remote dies (or gets loss) or the remote battery goes dead while the wife or I are away from home in car...or even at home. Pull the NFC card out of your wallet, start/stop the car just like if the remote was working. And probably some other uses I just have thought about yet And I know you might say just use the app, well, I haven't even loaded that app yet and since it only works if your car and your smartphone can make an internet connection to the server in China if you are parked in a building and the car isn't receiving any mobile signal (or your phone)/no connection to the server you can use the NFC card to start the car if the remote stops working.
  11. Yeap....new EV models/bigger batteries, price reductions, promotions, etc., are popping up very frequently especially from the Chinese manufacturers. But at some point you just have to grab one of those pop-ups fully knowing a future promotion "might" (probably) offer a better deal.
  12. When I was at my Bangkok dealership this morning getting a NFC card made, I asked two different sales reps in the dealership about above promotion....talked to the two reps about 15 minutes apart. They both said since I picked up my car on 25 Oct although the DLT registration process is still not complete/I haven't gotten my white tags yet I could not get the Bt100K rebate. It's all referenced to when you took possession of the vehicle. Oh well, that was the answer I was expecting but still had to ask. And the part about a "Limited Number of Cars Available" will vary from dealership to dealership. At my dealership the reps said they had 12 white Atto's and 20 grey Atto's for a total of 32 cars that were eligible for a Bt100K rebate. If you wanted say a red, green, or blue Atto at their dealership with the rebate you were just out of luck. Now when I think about it after leaving the dealership maybe another dealership may have red/green/blue Atto's eligible for the rebate OR maybe it will be limited to white and grey Atto's at all dealerships if BYD is overstocked with those colors. A person just needs to stop at a dealership and ask.
  13. Yeap...all normal with it climbing up to 1.7KW as that will be the max (give or take a tenth of a KW) the 10A (2.2KWH) granny charger can provide. Although the granny charger has a 2.2KWH/10A rating you'll have about 0.5KWH in charging losses in this car-charger combination since the car's electronics/rectifier/fans will eat around 0.5KW of the 2.2KW with the remaining going into the battery. When my 10A granny charger is hooked to my Atto the car starts off by showing around 1.1KWH for a second or two and then climbs to 1.7KWH. With a 7KWH/30A wall charger you'll still have that approx 0.5KW charging loss...as mentioned that 0.5KW is being used by the car's onboard rectifier/electronics/fans/etc., with the remaining actually going into the battery. With your Seal Premium 82.56KWH battery charging at 1.7KWH it will take a mere 48 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100%, 12 hours from 75% to 100%, etc. Granny is slow but still gets the job done.
  14. Speaking of landing Seals, at around 1pm today I drove by my BYD dealership here in western Bangkok and there were two 8 vehicle carriers parked in front. The 1st carrier had already began unloading and only had two vehicles left on it....an Atto and a Dolphin....don't know what the other 6 already unloaded might have been assuming it came fully loaded with 8 vehicles. And the 2nd carrier hadn't begun unloading yet and it had 7 Seals of various colors and 1 Atto on it. I was also at my dealership from 9:30am to 10am this morning getting a 2nd NFC card made and they must had had a dozen Seals parked around/in the facility. The Seal is definitely hot stuff right now.
  15. I have an Atto and it don't have any of that seat memory stuff that I'm aware of and like the Seal has.
  16. Update: in mid November when my BYD sales girl and her fellow sales girl took the wife and I to the Dept of Land Transport (DLT) in the Chatuchak area of Bangkok so the DLT could see/toouch my passport (a copy was not good enough) we asked our sales girl again about cost of a extra/replacement NFC card and this time after a brief discussion with her fellow sales girl the answer was it "use" to be approx Bt9,000 a couple of years ago, but it's much lower price now. My sales girl who previously quoted approx Bt10,000 was going off what it use to cost approx 2 years ago and no one she had dealt with/sold cars to had ever actually requested one through her so that's why she initially gave that high quote. But her fellow sales girl said the price is much lower now and will check the current price once we finish at DLT and go back to the dealership. My sales girl then apologized to the wife and I about the earlier inaccurate price she quoted and she would confirm the "current" cost once we get back to the dealership. Once back at the dealership and checking with the Service Dept the estimated cost was Bt900 and a person needed to make a service appt to get the NFC card as they actually hook devices up to the car while making the second card, coding the card to the car, etc. OK, I made an appt for 30 Nov. This morning went in for the appt. They take the car into the service bay. About 20 minutes later they come ask for the original card...I give it to them...it's taken to the service bay where my car is. Maybe they just duplicated the original card and then updated the car computer to also work with the 2nd card being made...or maybe they just wanted to ensure the original card still worked. After about a total of 30 minutes the process is complete....I'm done...out the door....I now have a 2nd NFC card which I confirmed worked before leaving. The actual cost was: Labor: Bt650 The NFC card: Bt190 Tax: Bt58.80 Total: Bt898.80. Summary: a second/extra NFC costs approx Bt900.
  17. That's what handsome causes.
  18. The PBS article is badly written...confusing as heck...at least to me. I think what they are really saying is the Ft portion is going to increase from the current 20.48 stang per KWH for the Sep-Dec period (this gets added to the basic rate per KWH)...then add on tax, meter fee, etc. Assuming I'm right say a person uses 1000KWH per month which at the current Ft rate of 20.48 stang would result in an electric bill of approx Bt4,734 which includes tax, fees, everything according to the MEA (Bangkok electric company) online bill calculator for 1.2 Residential service like my standalone house. Now, if using the "previous Ft rate for Aug which was 91.19 stang per KWH then 1000KWH would cost Bt5,491. Yes, I know that not the 89.55 stang Ft rate quoted in the news article beginning Jan 2024 but I had to use the 91.19 rate (which is a little higher than the upcoming Ft rate) since it's hard coded in the Ft pull down menu and a person can't manually enter a Ft rate. https://www.mea.or.th/en/our-services/mea-service/e-service/electric-monthly-calculate
  19. Yea...it sure does says a Bt100K rebate/cash back. I expect there is some fine print. The AutoLifeThailand article below has a line ( I marked with an arrow) saying that translates to: "There is a limited number of cars." I don't know if this is just typical sales talk to pressure a quick buy decision OR maybe they are indeed only offering some many which they are keeping close hold regarding how many....OR maybe only in a certain color.....OR maybe only showroom models....OR maybe who knows what the fine print may say until going to a dealership and asking for all the details. https://autolifethailand.tv/cash-back-100000-byd-atto-3-ev-rever-thailand/
  20. I'll check again over the next week or so to confirm it draws a high number of amps right up to the very end but I think it does...but I'll check again. The reason I say it does draws full power of my 7KWH wall charger up to the very end (i..e, 100% charge, charging cut off) is because when the wall charger is pumping out approx 225V/30A/6.85KWH the Atto displays approx a 6.2 to 6.3KWH right up to the very end of charging (i.e., 100% SOC/charge cut off)....I've seen this numerous time which checking the power draw of the Atto when it was reporting at least 99%. OK, OK, what about between 99% to 100%. Well, one time I just set in the car to watch it go from 99% to 100%/charge cut off and it was displaying 6.3KWH and just for approx 5 seconds before going to 100%/charge cut off the Atto jumped up to a 6.4KWH charge rate---then the charge was complete/cut off and the display no longer displays any charging rate and when looking at the wall charger it's charging light has went off as charging has stopped/completed. I also installed a AC watt/volt/amp meter on the input to my wall charger which allows to see how much power the wall charger it using/pumping into the Atto. This has allowed me to determine charging efficiency of the Atto battery is 91%....this done by comparing what the wattmeter says it sending to the Atto and then what the Atto displays as the charging rate. The missing 9% is charging losses from the Onboard Rectifier/Charger and other electronics, fans, etc., the car uses during charging. I've checked this charging efficiency around a half dozen times and it varies from 90% to 92% which average out to 91%. Below is a snapshot of my wattmeter while charging...when 6.85KWH is showing on the meter the Atto is displaying 6.2-6.3KWH. When the Atto displays 6.2KWH with the wattmeter showing 6.85KWH that calculates out to a 90.5% charging efficiency....when the Atto displays 6.3KWH with the wattmeter displaying 6.85KWH that calculates out to 92% charging efficiency. Since the Atto only displays KWH to one decimal point while the wattmeter displays to 2 decimal points that causes some minor variations in how the calculations work out. And when the vehicle charging is completed/stopped the wattmeter shows less than 2 watts being used by the wall charger to keep it's own electronics/lights working. Bottom line the charging efficiency is approx 91% which is pretty good. Wattmeter while Atto is charging....bought off Lazada for a couple hundred baht.
  21. I don't know if BYD vehicle batteries do active or passive charging (still googling/researching such out of curiosity ...would like to find something from BYD on the subject), but page 82 of my Atto manual says "balancing is enabled before charging is completed to improve service life." See 1st snapshot below. And on page 93 the manual it recommends regularly charging the vehicle to 100% at least once a week and also once every three to six months to do a full charge starting below 10% SOC. I don't know if this also plays a part in balancing or just recalibrates the range guess-o-meter....laptop computers also recommend a periodic full recharge to recalibrate the percent of charge remaining reading. See 2nd snapshot below. Snapshot from page 82 Snapshot from page 93
  22. To ensure I understand where you say, "...you can use the app to delete an "old" phone profile...," do you mean deleting the old profile by doing this on the old phone OR doing it from the new phone? Of course this assumes you still have the old phone and app installed on it. In the app under gear icon setting there is a menu titled Application, Device Management which currently shows my phone....I only have the app installed on one phone. And there is a Delete button next to it which apparently would allow you to delete the device which would probably at the same time stop the ability to log onto the app until you set it up again like with a new phone.
  23. This might be pretty interesting to some....especially BYD Atto 3 owners like myself. Below article shows a BYD Yuan Plus (a.k.a.,) BYD Atto 3 broken down into its major components with many pictures. Google Translate is your friend with this article and the pictures have annotation/descriptions in Chinese so I used my computer to display/translate the core article while at the same time using using my smartphone to view & google translate the wording on the pictures. https://m.geeknev.com/article/749846874004938788?ad=164
