  1. The booking system is indeed now for 27 minute sessions....starts on the hour/half hour and will end 27 minutes later "if", repeat, if there is a booking for the upcoming next time slot. But if there is no booking for the upcoming booking time slot the charging session will not be interrupted/stopped like it supposedly use to be, but will continue on. This according to the google translated webpage below....and also by my experience yesterday. This makes sense as it allows the charging station to continue to make money during that 3 minute period and also makes the current customer happier as they don't have to restart the session. Yesterday when I lost my DC Fast Charger use cherry when I used a PTT EV Station Pluz charger for the first time (as a brief test) as a "walk-in," the EV Station Pluz transaction history/receipt shows I started the charging session at 9:27:49 and ended it a 9:31:50 hours....right during that 3 minutes down session between booking. But since there was no booking for the 9:30 to 9:57 session and also no booking for the previous 9:00-9:27 session the charger let me charge during the down period between any bookings. And I remember when the charging started a "brief" message appeared at the bottom of the phone screen indicating I could continue my charging for 2 hours and something....and then within a few seconds the message faded away. I should have looked at the booking schedule to see if that 2 hours and something period was due to maybe the next booking being 2 hours and something down the road....but I didn't look because I was too busy figuring out first time use of the app/charging station. But this did make me think a person's charging session will not automatically be interrupted every 30 minutes "if" there is no booking for the next time slot. Now my brief test was purely just a test to see that my EV Plus registration and payment option really worked. Yea, apparently whether there are any upcoming bookings determines if a person's charging session would be interrupted after 27 minutes and how long it could continue uninterrupted. And if there was a booking for the next session "if", repeat, if you had that session booked would the EV Station Pluz recognized the vehicle currently being charged and is also the same vehicle booked for the next session and "maybe" would not interrupt the session for 3 minutes---I don't know. See Notes at bottom of below snapshot. https://www.ev-roads.com/content/33712/แอปฯ-ev-station-pluz-เวอร์ชั่นใหม่เพิ่ม-3-ฟีเจอร์-ระบบชาร์จต่อเนื่อง-ระบบ-booking-และอัพเกรด-map-ใหม่-
  2. What/how many payment options does the app offer? Just debit/credit card or others like maybe also QR code, etc.? Thanks.
  3. The BYD Dolphin manual says charge to 100% at least once a week which to me it means it's OK to charge to 100% everyday if you desire especially since the Dolphin uses a "LFP" battery which can regularly be charged to 100% no problem; not the same for a lithium NCA/NMC type battery where it's not recommend charging to 100% all the time to extend the battery's life and to save on charging time...just charge to 100% occasionally or when going on a long trip and want maximum range by utilizing 100%. And BYD also recommends you charge to 100% from a low SOC of less than 10% every 3 to 6 months....this is recommended to help balance the charge of all the individual cells in the battery pack and improve the accuracy of the range guess-o-meter. Regarding charging by KWH and/or time, below Sep 2023 article gives a pretty good overview of how different charging companies in Thailand charge by KWH and/or time. Generally it's by KWH used, but EA Anywhere and On-ion is time based for their AC chargers, but EA Anywhere does use KWH for it's DC Fast Chargers. Best to look at the charges shown in each companies charging app. https://propertyscout.co.th/en/lifestyle/ev-charging-station-and-fees/#:~:text=App%3A EleXA-,EA Anywhere,150 baht for 4 hours. And finally, below is the charge curve for a BYD Atto 3 with 60KWH extended range battery on a DC Fast Charger capable of at least 100KWH....expect the Dolphin 60KWH battery is the same or durn near the same. As you'll see it can maintain a rate of charge of around 60KWH all the way up to around 85% SOC...then it will drop off to around 35KWH up to around 98% and then drop around 15-20KW to 100%. This morning when I did my test at the PTT EV Pluz charging station my Atto had starting 58% SOC and began charging at 66KWH....as mentioned in my earlier post I only charged for a few minutes as a test....I then came home to plug it into my 7KW wall charger. Now if my SOC had been around 45% or less then the DC Fast charge rate would have probably been in the 80-88KW range which is the max the Atto can charge at (ditto for a Dolphin extended range...around 60-66KWH for a standard Dolphin/Atto). If you go with a Dolphin I don't think you can go wrong or be dissatisfied by going with the extended range battery of 60KWH vs the standard range batter of 45KWH. AND DEFINITELY get a home 7KWH wall charger if your residence can support as it makes keeping your EV charged easy (and about half the price of using a commercial charger)...just like keeping your smartphone charged by plugging it into a 5V charger at home....easy. https://ev-database.org/car/1782/BYD-ATTO-3
  4. I was curious about your question and sent an inquiry to EV Pluz Customer Service asking about the price...I included a snapshot of above. They called me within a few hours saying that some EV Pluz charging stations are "commercial" charging stations where a higher price may apply versus a EV Pluz charging station "right at a PTT Station." The EV Pluz rep then said they were a couple of PTT Stations nearby where the price would be Bt7.5/KWH. It appears EV Pluz does charge a little higher price when using their charging station which are located at places such as malls (i.e., a commercial location), just somewhere other than right at a PTT station. Expect PTT has to pay the owner of that "commercial" property a slice of the charging profit....rent for the charging location, etc. I've contacted the EV Pluz Customers Service a few times and they have always responded very fast by phone or email. And just this morning I used an EV Pluz DC Fast Charger at a PTT station for the first time just to ensure it worked for me. I had registered on the app and setup a payment option a month or so ago using my Thai bank debit card and just wanted to see if I could successfully use "and pay" for using an EV Pluz charger. It's one thing to have everything setup to where it appears it "should" work but you don't know for sure until you do an a real world, operational test and the test was successful. I only charged my Atto 3 for a few minutes as a test....4.3KWH worth which cost Bt32.25 which works out to Bt7.5/KWH. So, I'm good to go for long road trips since there are plenty of PTT station with EV chargers along major highways. Need to do the same test on the PEA Volta, EA Anywhere, and EleXA which I have also registered on but yet to do an operational test.
  5. I submitted a PDF copy of my U.S. federal return that tax software such as HR Block, TurboTax, etc., generates for mailing/a person's file copy. I did redact (white out) the first 5 digits of my SSN, IP PIN, etc. BoI accepted it.
  6. I'm fully expect you can. Send an inquiry to BoI LTR to be 100% sure. They have been answering with hours over the last few months.
  7. Yes...their aspirational goal of 200K/year over the first 5 years of the program was never realistic like many projections given by the government. But it's a very good visa program for those who meet the qualification requirements.
  8. In the Passenger Car category below are the top 12 selling in Thailand for Oct 2023---3 of the 12 are BEVs....the BYD Dolphin at #2, BYD Atto at #6, and Neta V at #11. Strong showing for BEVs. https://autolifethailand.tv/sales-report-best-seller-passenger-cars-oct-2023/
  9. Yes...the Chamchuri Sq Immigration Office stays pretty busy but based on my experience in Dec 2022 when initially getting my LTR visa and last month when getting a certificate of residence to buy a car when they know you have an LTR visa you get priority service....front of the queue type service.

  11. It will only take an hour or two....probably closer to an hour. Yes, you need trousers and a shirt with collar....like a polo shirt. Suit and tie "not" required. If you don't collect the visa within 60 days you get to start all over.
  12. Feed your Seal an Energizer treat (preferably a D-Cell) just before doing the run....it will beat 3.8 seconds for sure!!!
  13. Below are LTR Visa applications snapshots as of end of 31 Oct 2023 and 31 Aug 2023 to give an idea of activity over the last two months....from the BoI LTR website. Seems to be around 300 applications per month. Please note this is applications (applies); it does not say how many of the applications were endorsed (i.e., approved). The Pensioner category is still the most popular closely followed by Work From Thailand Professional category.....Dependents category in third place. Through 31 Oct 2023 Through 31 Aug 2023
  14. In translation of vehicle sales (like the news article I posted a little earlier) I often run across abbreviations of RY.1, ,etc., and wondered if it was just Google Translate not being able to figure it out or was it indeed a correct translation and meant something specific. Sure enough it was a correct translation...and RY.1 means Sedan (not more than 7 passengers). See below for more. https://tdri.or.th/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/M35.pdf
  15. Below is a better translation of above....earlier I simply couldn't get Google Translate to work well on the article. ****************************************** https://autolifethailand.tv/ev-bev-register-thailand-oct-2023/#respond Registration Total electric train registrations 100% in Thailand: October 2023 Accumulated vehicle registrations in the 100% electric vehicle group (BEV : Battery Electric Vehicle) Month of October 2023 Total 7,727 vehicles (Accounting for 16.10% of the total car registrations in Thailand, RY.1, totaling 47,998 cars) Top 14 rankings with the highest number of registrations in October 2023 Rank 1 BYD Dolphin 2,413 units Rank 2 BYD Atto 3 1,427 cars Rank 3 NETA V 951 units No. 4 ORA Good Cat 641 units No. 5 MG EP 608 cars Rank 6 MG 4 Electric 553 units Rank 7 Tesla Model Y 281 cars Rank 8 MG Maxus 9 104 cars Rank 9 MG ZS EV 96 cars Rank 10 BMW iX3 93 cars Rank 11 Wuling Air EV 90 units Rank 12 MG ES 89 cars Rank 13 Volvo XC40 EV 80 cars Rank 14 Volvo C40 48 cars Cumulative registrations for January - October 2023: Total 58,074 vehicles. 16. The article says 16.1%. That a very healthy percentage in my book.
  17. BEV "registered" sales stats for Oct 2023 and calendar year. The BYD Dolphin most sold for Oct....no close 2nd although the Atto 3 is still selling very well and was the 2nd most bought BEV in Oct. Surprised no BYD Seal sales listed, but maybe since it was only released for sale in late Sep none of them have completed the DLT registration process yet. *************************************** https://autolifethailand.tv/ev-bev-register-thailand-oct-2023/ Total vehicle registrations in the 100% electric vehicle group (BEV : Battery Electric Vehicle) in October 2023 Totaled 7,727 vehicles (representing 16.10% of total vehicle registrations in Thailand, RY.1, totaling 47,998 vehicles). 18. Thanks for the clarification. In your standard range Dolphin buy did you get the free home/wall charger like listed below for the Dolphin? I've heard that getting the wall charger when buying a Dolphin might also depend on whether a person is paying cash or financing. A neighbor of mine who bought an Atto just a week before I bought my Atto told me such. This was almost 3 weeks ago. https://www.reverautomotive.com/en/model/dolphin/overview
  19. What's your source regarding your statement of:"....don't include a wall charger, window film, and some other enticements that other brands offer." The ReverAutomotive website (the distributor of BYD models in Thailand) still shows a free wall charge and other enticements. The same deal they gave me for my Atto 3 buy a few weeks ago. Now the Dolphin may not come with a free wall charger. When it comes to window film there was no free film for my Atto....that was a option you paid for....they offered many choices of window film. https://www.reverautomotive.com/en/model/seal/overview
  20. Below is my 26 Sep 2023 bulletin (a.k.a., 26 Sep AseanNow post) based on my facetime with BoI and Chamchuri Sq Immigration regarding the annual address reporting. Bottomline: in-person (or your authorized agent) or by mail to Chamchuri Sq Immigration....no online capability yet for 1 year reporting. A person can try their local/nearby immigration office which may or may do it....must use the TM95 form which is for 1 year reporting. Was hoping that by now some folks you got their LTR visa in the Sep-Nov 2022 and hadn't left the country since getting the visa would have reported whether they was able to accomplish the report online or at their nearby immigration office, but I haven't seen anything.
  21. To any LTR visa holders listening in who got their visa say in the Sep-Nov 2022 time frame have any of you attempted/successfully accomplished an online 365 day address report?
  22. I want to get some facetime to ask some curiosity questions...plus Chamchuri Sq is pretty easy for me to drive to in about 30 minutes. Also as a retire I got time to kill. 😎
  23. Congrats on getting an LTR visa inked into your passport. I know it's a good feeling I got my LTR pensioner visa in late Dec 2022/last year. For this year/2023 it was truly a good feeling in not needing to reapply for an "annual" Non-O type visa like I had been doing for 15 years. And no 90 day address reporting was nice...I will do my annual address report in-person since Chamchuri Sq immigration is not too far from my home. And the LTR tax benefits is turning out to be a real bonus based on the latest Revenue Dept policy change regarding foriegn income.
  24. My Atto does the same thing when checking for a software update....after 10 seconds or so of checking it just stops. The dealership said this means you "do" have the latest software as I went thru this process/check during my acceptance inspection. If you do have the latest software it does not come back with a message such as You Have the Latest Software or something similar.....it just seemingly stops the check...but that is OK as it supposedly means you do have the latest software.
  25. Yes, I know/agree Where I said "I may switch to a TOU meter in the future" the operative word is "may" because I already know from considering a TOU meter 15 years ago when I bought my Bangkok house which showed TOU probably would save me very little (or maybe nothing) based on how much electricity I use and when I use that juice. Just a few days ago I did another quick analysis using the MEA online Electric Monthly Calculator which is accurate to the stang based on KWH usage you enter and based on my current usage (approx 1200KWH per month)....then increasing that to 1400KWH due to EV charging along with an estimation of how much of that 1400KWH would occur during the On Peak and Off Peak periods and the TOU service would result in approx Bt300 saving per month...that is, Bt6,421 with TOU compared Bt6,715 non-TOU. But this Bt300 savings does on take into acct any upfront/switch over costs that might be incurred. AND, unless I did charge my EV during the Off Peak period (i.e., night time) I probably wouldn't save anything...TOU might even cost me a little more than I pay now due to how/when I use electricity. I may not want to charge my EV at night when I'm sleeping; instead prefer to do it during the daytime when I can keep an eye on things. TOU is definitely good for those folks who can concentrate the majority of their electricity use to the Off Peak/night time....like maybe "not" running a couple of air cons during the day ---just sweat it out---but run the air cons at night when you sleep to recover from sweating out a hot day.
