  1. Here's a Board of Investment (BOI) English version not requiring translation from Thai. https://www.boi.go.th/index.php?page=press_releases_detail&topic_id=134676&_module=news&from_page=press_releases2
  2. Regarding the wall charger talk above just because a person may have a three phase 22KW wall charger does "not" necessary mean the EV will charge at a 22KWH rate "because the EV's rectifier may not be rated for 22KW"....in fact, it could only be rated for approx 7KW single phase like the Seal, Atto, and Dolphin. For the BYD Dolphin, Atto, and Seal model their onboard rectifier is "not" rated for 22KW...instead, they are rated for single phase 6.6, 6.6, and 7KW, respectively. So, this means a 7KW single phase wall charger will charge the BYD just as fast as a 22KW three phase wall charger....all due to the EV's onboard rectifier being a single phase approx 7KW rectifier. And when it comes to DC Fast charging, the Seal is rated at 150KW and the Atto & Dolphin at 80KW. Now I have seen quite a few Youtubes which show the Atto can reach 88KW...expect the Seal might go a little above 150KW also. But a person needs to ensure the DC Fast Charger they are using can put out the required KW. https://www.ananindustry.com/byd-seal-extended-range-rwd-2023.html https://www.ananindustry.com/byd-atto3.html https://www.ananindustry.com/byd-dolphin-extended-range.html
  3. My earlier posts above talked my registration and "payment option" setup on the Elexa by EGAT charging app. During the payment verification process where I used my Bangkok Bank "debit" card Bt12.42 was immediately debited from my bank acct and supposedly immediately voided/credited by Elexa. However, the Bt12.42 showed as a debit on my bank account with no accompanying Bt12.42 credit. This occurred on 8 Oct. Today (31 Oct) as I was scanning thru my account transactions for the last month I noticed that on 25 Oct I received a Bt12.42 credit....a credit 17 days after the debit. I expect if I had used a "credit" card as payment option (I do not have a Thai credit card) the process of charging Bt12.42 immediately followed by a Bt12.42 credit would have indeed probably occurred immediately....OR, the Bt12.42 charge would have remained in Pending status for a few days and then disappeared. But with a debit card it appears the process works a little differently and the crediting of funds back to your bank acct takes approx 2.5 weeks--at least here in Thailand. Anyway, I got my Bt12.42 back without doing anymore follow-ups after that initial contact with Elexa Customer Support back on 8 Oct....just took a while for Alexa by EGAT and Thai banking system to balance their books.
  4. I know this is a Seal topic but this Atto youtube addresses use of the EPB starting at approx the 27:30 mark. Use of the "manual" EPB basically just allows someone to slam on the emergency brake if needed for some reason. As mentioned before when you press P for park the EPB is engaged. When driving I'm pretty sure if you press P while moving nothing happens....but if you would pull the manual EPB switch it would apply the emergency brake.
  5. Use the Rever Automotive Sophon gave above....Rever is the daddy rabbit for import/distribution of BYD vehicles in Thailand. They are basically Headquarters BYD Thailand. Every BYD vehicle a dealership receives is from Rever.
  6. Just drove by my BYD dealership here in western Bangkok (where I got my Atto)....an 8 vehicle carrier was parked in front unloading. 6 vehicles were still on the carrier...all Seals.....4 white, 1 blue, 1 black.
  7. Based on my experience the last time our Content disappeared due to re-indexing (occurred a couple year ago due to another software upgrade) after the re-indexing is completed your content will "not" reappear. Only when you make a new post in a topic will that topic once again start showing up in your content. I hope I'm wrong this time....just stating what happened last time.
  8. Yes...it boils down I=E/R with the EV controlling the R factor.
  9. OK, the wife just took a call...from Rever she thinks. The only question the caller had was what was our electric service size....our answer was 100A. The wife was then told the installer will call in 1 to 2 days. I expect once that call occurs we'll have better idea when the installers will actually do the installation. If it follows the neighbor's install process the actual installation would be about a 7-10 days after that initial call with the installer. Time will tell. Just glad I now know the installation process is indeed underway versus possibly being stuck in the mud maybe because my dealership hadn't forwarded all required paperwork yet to get the ball actually rolling.
  10. Actually it the EV's onboard charger that has the most control. Both have control but it really the EV that mostly controlling the charge. The EV and wall charger communicate (handshake) with each other when first hooked-up and during the charging process such as the charger telling the EV how many amps it can provide and then the EV decides how much of that to draw. The charger may communicate it can provide 32A but the EV may say "Thanks, but I only need 10A right now as I'm almost fully charged." Ditto for a DC Fast Charger that might be able to put out 50KW (or more) but the EV will vary/control how much it draws....maybe the full 50KW to start with and then start tapping off to 40KW 35KW 30KW, 10KW etc., as it charges. Now this doesn't mean that during the charging process the wall charger/DC fast charger might tell the EV "Sorry dude I going to have to reduce the max amount I can provide (less than what you are asking for) because I'm having an issue on my end....like a brownout.
  11. Yea...it does seem most 7KW chargers do default to pumping out 25 to 32A versus offering a lower amperage. I expect this is simply due to it makes it cheaper to manufacturer and most places will infrequently experience brownouts. Yes, yes, I know it all depends on where a person lives and the use of the word "most" can have a wide variation. I have now lived in my Bangkok home for 15 years and during the first 5 to 10 years brownouts were very infrequent...but you sure hated it when it happened. But over the last 5 years I don't remember any brownouts....and only one blackout caused by a building fire kilometers away and the electric company had to cut power for one hour to a big area like my entire moobaan and other surrounding moobaans. Now for the last 5 years or so brownouts have been non-existent for me here in western Bangkok. Now one thing that is not infrequent....probably happens once a month is when the electric company is balancing/switching loads and the power will go off for only a second...just long enough to where you have to go around and reset the microwave oven clock, that 1 second off-on might trigger your TV to turn on, etc. You can buy EV chargers where you can program a lower amperage output and the Feyree charger below....the 7.6KW charger has 6 different amp settings....all the way down to an 8A granny charger level.
  12. No 2nd meter and no separate ground rod. Correct, he paid Bt800 for the 4 extra meters above the free 15 meters. My neighbor's house, as well as mine and most houses in my moobaan, have single phase 30 (100)A service....a.k.a., 100 amp service. The 30A stands for average/typical current draw for a house...where the 100A stands for the maximum the service provides/max rating of the meter. Seems here in Thailand a lot of people call that 30A service but it's really 100A service. The bigger houses in my moobaan have 3 phase service. From the charger to the main circuit box they ran three wires: Line, Neutral, and Ground and all three hooked to the appropriate connector in the main circuit box. The main circuit box is already grounded---that is, the l....o......n.....g copper stake into the ground when the house was built to create the Ground (a.k.a. Protective Earth (PE)) Some Youtubes show a separate Ground for the charger...a copper stake being driven into the ground close to the charger probably because the house itself did not have a ground. Kinda like the houses in my mother-in-law's village out in the province.....the land of two wires (line and neutral) running from the meter to the house, two wires running throughout the house, and no ground. So, in those cases where the house was built without a ground I expect the charger installer creates a ground for the charger.
  13. Expect Bt25K is the price of charger "and installation." The ZHIDA charger itself (identical to the one BYD gave me) goes for around Bt12K on Lazada. They finished the install at my neighbor's house in about 3 hours. His install required a 19M cable run.....15M is free with Bt200 for each extra meter (wire/PVC conduit/etc). The install includes a circuit breaker/RCCB mounted just above the charger and in his main circuit box they replaced (for free) an unused 20A breaker with a 40A breaker to feed the the charger/RCCB. A few weeks ago I went ahead an bought a 40A breaker (a few hundred baht on Lazada) for my main bax in advance planning for an EV charger and installed it in replacement of a unused 20A breaker. But now that I know they will provide a free 40A breaker in your main circuit box if required I will just reinstall the 20A breaker so I can get the free 40A breaker. 😜 I sure hope I can get the wall charger installed within 2 weeks as I don't want to overwork my granny charger nor go to a DC fast charger.....granny will just need to labor for a few month weeks.
  14. My neighbor also said the Atto and Seal get the free wall charger but not the Dolphin.
  15. Just to give an idea of how long it takes BYD to schedule the free wall charger installation a neighbor on my soi got his Atto on 18 Oct. He said the installer called a few days later to talk/schedule the installation. Today/30 Oct they are doing the install. That's equates to 12 days. Now for me I got my Atto on 25 Oct....no one has called to schedule the install yet. The wife just got off the phone with our sales person asking why we haven't even been contacted yet. The sales person called Rever who apparently is the daddy rabbit for arranging charger installs...the sales person said Rever is looking into the issue, checking why we haven't even been called yet. The sales person said she would follow-up again. Sure 28-29 Oct was a weekend....so maybe that has something to do with not being contacted yet.
  16. I really don't want the mirrors to fold automatically each and every time when locking the car as it just raises the chances of early wear-out/breakage of the mirror closing assembly which ain't cheap to replace. And there are many places a person parks (like at my home and many places I visit) there is really no need to have the mirrors fold even with the car locked. I would prefer to just close them myself "when I think it's necessary" versus automatically each and every time I lock the car I would just use the button like you mention if I was still in the car...just before getting out. OR, when the car is already locked (and I may not have the key on my person) and I decide I want to fold the mirrors then I just manually fold them with my hands. Additionally, whether I had the mirrors set to auto fold or not I wanted to ensure the mirrors could be manually folded which I now now they can be but requires significantly more pressure than what I have been use to on other cars.
  17. Thanks. When I read your reply this morning confirming they would manually fold but required much more effort than another of your cars I tried again with "extra-plus" firm pressure using one hand and they would fold. And I was sure to apply pressure long the rotational axis. I would estimate it requires twice the pressure of my Fortuner mirrors. But I found out if I use "both" hands to fold the mirror by placing one on the outside edge of the mirror (like where the blue arrow is in earlier picture) and the other on the side facing the car/next to the window and then turning that the mirror it will fold without feeling like you are applying too much pressure....afraid you are going to break the mirror. This two hand method seems to apply "a more even rotational force" and the mirror feels like it turns much easier...it doesn't feel like you are turning/pushing so hard you might break something. Using both hands kinda like if you would put both your hands on someone's head by placing your hands over the ears and then turning the head. Yea, the Atto external mirrors take a lot more pressure to turn compared to my Fortuner...and your Scirocco. Thanks again. One more thing figured out as I'm into day 5 of learning/checking out my new Atto.
  18. @BKKBike09 Since you have numerous months of Atto 3 use under your belt can you "manually" folder the mirrors as shown in below snapshot from page 132 of the owners manual. I can't get them to manually fold...and I put some pretty good pressure. They auto close just fine but I'm not sure I want them to auto close every time I lock the car. I'm use to the pressure required to manually fold my Fortuner mirrors which is not that much pressure. Thanks.
  19. Did they send you an email or call you specifically asking for Item #2 "OR" are you just looking at what you submitted earlier which just happens to show #2....and probably show some other numbered areas where you "could" upload/add docs "if required for your application." When you initially submit an application there are some docs that do "not" apply and you do not need to upload those docs. It's just there is an entry/area available for your to Add (upload) certain docs if your particular application requires it. My LTR WP (which was approved/issued) Dec 2022 also shows item #2 when I view the area where you can view all the docs you uploaded. Just because you can "add" a doc does not mean it's required "UNLESS the BoI specifically ask you for it by email/call/entering a request in red text under a certain area. I don't see anything in your snapshot that indicates BoI has requested you to provide item #2.....if they needed it there would be some comments in red text from BoI asking for it.
  20. Heck, I just noticed you said you uploaded the insurance doc on Tuesday....so they have had 3 days to review it. Give them until lunch time Monday morning...if not approved by then I would call them Monday afternoon. Good luck.
  21. It's hard telling. if it meets the requirements in could happen almost immediately assuming it's looked at immediately.....but if they beat around the bush in reviewing the insurance doc it could be weeks. If you don't get approval by this coming Wed I would definitely call. BoI is the only organization that needs to look at the insurance paperwork. It's not like the initial review of your application where BoI does the core look and then some other agencies also take a quick look to ensure you are not on some bad boy list. How fast a person's application takes to reach final endorsement (approval) has been all over the map.
  22. Just as soon as you reach Step 8 Status: Visa/WP Issuance Preapproved. At that time your online profile/status will change to where you can make an appointment...an appointment which will probably have plenty of ASAP openings. Back in late Dec 2022 on a Friday I reached to point of being able to make an appt...I made the appt for Monday morning. Watch your account and email inbox (and spam box) closely....if in doubt call/email BoI.
  23. Yea...I hit send too soon....live & learn.
  24. All settings related to how it works are grayed out...can not change.
  25. Too expensive and dangerous to do so! 😄
