Certainly not in my experience at Mae Sot, Nakhon Sawan and now Kamphaeng Phet. But then again most IOs are the same but differ slightly. From what I have read of your posts in this thread I suspect that you have an attitude problem. They have a job to do and if you think that giving them a hard time is good, then remember that the harder that you make their life, they can make your life far harder. But it is your call, and your problem, not mine.

Absolute rubbish. Were you there, and do you know exactly what happened? I think that you were not and have just let your mouth run off into a fantasy world. Facts are the things that matter in the real world and not stupid suppositions from people who were not even there and have no idea what happened.

I suspect that some the engine room crew are among the missing, poor souls. At least the water is a lot warmer that the Artic seas. quote "Then we have their Vietnam war experience where they refused to fight and set up a massive black market instead." That is not quite the way that I read it when I did a little research on Google. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thailand_in_the_Korean_War The Kingdom of Thailand was one of the 21 countries who responded to the United Nations request to send troops to aid South Korea during the Korean War 1950-1953. As well as being one of the first countries to openly express its support for South Korea's cause, whilst also being one of the UN's larger contributors to the war.[citation needed] Thai support was important to battles determining the outcome of the war, including Pork Chop Hill and the Third Battle of Seoul. Legacy Thai Victory Medal for the Korean War. Ribbon of the Thai Victory Medal for the Korean War. During the course of the Korean War, Thailand dispatched a total of 11,786 soldiers to Korea.[5] It is recorded that 129 Thai soldiers lost their lives in the war, 1,139 were wounded, and five were missing in action (MIA).[4] In 1974, the Government of the Republic of Korea built a monument, and a Thai pavilion in Pocheon City, to honour the Thai soldiers who took part in the Korean War. On 4 November 2008, the Thai Embassy in Seoul, with the cooperation from the Office of Defense Attache, hosted the opening ceremony of the Thai memorial at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea (UNMCK) to commemorate the sacrifices made by Thai soldiers during the Korean War. Thailand still maintains, as of 2020, one liaison officer at the Armistice Committee site and six soldiers as members of the United Nations Command Honor Guard Company in Seoul. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thailand_in_the_Vietnam_War In October 1967 the Royal Thai Volunteer Regiment (Queen's Cobras) was sent to Camp Bearcat at Bien Hoa, to fight alongside the Americans, Australians, New Zealanders and South Vietnamese. In 1968 the Cobras were replaced by the Royal Thai Army Expeditionary Division (Black Panthers).[3]: 27–34 About 40,000 Thai military would serve in South Vietnam, with 351 killed in action and 1,358 wounded.[2][4][5] Black Panther Division colors come off USS Okanogan, Newport, 29 July 1968 Thai morale was generally high, with Thai troops taking pride in their roles as "defenders of Thailand from communism" and as Buddhists. Thai forces were generally respected by their American allies and inflicted on their PAVN opponents several times the losses they took; Thai media would often report on the war in terms of enemy killed, similar to American media. One state newspaper during the war had the headline "In 150 Fights, 100 [Thais] Are Dead, 1,000 Viet Cong Are Killed." However you and your military friend may be right nowadays, or not.

People To Rise Up Against Senators-Picked PM: Thanathorn
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think that there would be a Suthep/PDRC shutdown as Suthep is a spent force and the PDRC is now long in the past. I do think That the Thai people have a long memory and remember that Suthep brought on the last 8 years of misery, they would not trust him. He would probably get some support from what remains of the yellow shirts and the ultra royalists, but they are an older breed and dying off whilst the younger generations don't seem to have the same reverence and awe that their parents and grandparents had. They have grown up in a completely different world. A world where information can be obtained world wide at the few pushes of the buttons on their mobile phones. A world that Suthep et al cannot begin to understand. -

But if the PTP did win a majority they would have to go into a coalition with another party or parties to gain more than 375 seats in the house. Now if they could do that, then both the opposition parties AND the Senate can be over ruled. If that could happen, then the senate could be disbanded, and proper elections could be held and the new senate elected by the people. IMHO at which point there will most probably be another coup or an armed insurrection, which will result in many civilian deaths. If the civilians DO win, then the power of the military and the police will be broken forever. -

My son, now 18 is in his 3rd and final year. The problem was that he and nobody else either attended through the Covid years. Would that affect his standing, as it was not their fault? -
Are you saying that the report is not correct? I am not pretending anything. The whole point is all about clickbait and the word yellow in one song. There are many other songs with the same word "yellow" either in the lyrics or in the title and I gave many examples. Why were they also not classed as racist? If it is racist and offensive in one song then it must equally be so in every song with that word in it. That the moaners and whiners have no said so proves to me and I think to the majority of people that the whole thing is male cow excretia and worthy of the Daily Wail. A newspaper in the loosest possible term, that if it were allowed, isn't fit even to wrap fish and chips in.

How did they threaten or humiliate you? It is part of their job spec. If you have a serious problem I suggest that you contact the Head of the Immigration and tell him your feelings. http://www.suratimmigration.go.th/en/command.php#:~:text=Commissioner of Royal Thai Police,.Lt.Gen. Phakphumphiphat Sujjapan http://www.suratimmigration.go.th/en/contact.php or call 1178 from your mobile and ask to speak with him personally I am on a marriage extension in Kamphaeng Phet and between the application and the approval we had a home visit. First they called my wife to agree on a day and time. Three of them turned up on time, spoke to my wife and our 2 neighbours, spoke to me and I had a photo taken with one of them. We offered them cold water or coffee, they chose water. While one IO was doing the paperwork on his laptop the others wandered around, they went into the house taking their shoes off first and had a quick tour with my wife showing them around, came back out, shoes on and left after about 30 minutes. Was I threatened or humiliated? Not in the slightest. That was about 4 years ago and we haven't had a home visit since. Just be polite, smile and go with the flow and life in Thailand is easy.

These bigoted ignoramuses make me laugh crying racist. Do they not know that Johnny Mathis is actually of mixed race himself? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Mathis Mathis was born in Gilmer, Texas, on September 30, 1935,[3] the fourth of seven children of Clem Mathis and Mildred Boyd, both domestic cooks.[4][5] Mathis is of African-American and Native American heritage. And whilst they are screaming about the word yellow being racist, what about the Ringo Starr song "Yellow Submarine", or "Tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree", or the "Yellow Rose of Texas", "Mellow Yellow" or even bitch about daffodils being yellow in colour, or primroses being yellow? Or even these https://spinditty.com/playlists/Songs-with-the-Color-Yellow-in-the-Title https://www.musicindustryhowto.com/songs-with-yellow-in-the-title/ http://tunecaster.com/special/songs-in-color/yellow.html What really gets to me is that are so many things in the world today that NEED pointing out, but they don't care about that. They need to be laughed at and publicly humiliated instead of being frightened of.

quote "The world has gone PC crazy = mad!" Actually the world is a sane as it has ever been, BUT, there are people, mostly in the western world, who live solely to find racist commentary, as they alone see it. It doesn't matter to them what anybody else thinks or believes, they KNOW that they are right and pure, and everybody else is a racist. Personally I feel sorry for them as that is how they live their pitiful lives so virtuously.

Phuket Immigration announces results of their recent overstay crackdown
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
perhaps if the time of arrival is close to midnight and by the time you get past immigration it is the following day. The IO may not have changed the date stamp so you actually got stamped in at the arrival day, and not the day you came through the IO. -
Where did I say that I have no Thai friends near me? What I said was that on ONE side there was a wall. If you cannot read a post correctly and respond to what the poster has written, there is little hope for you. How could I be hiding behind that wall. I am not sure how dense you are but we didn't build it, they did. We helped them out in the early days but the wife over there is the one who doesn't want to know. and she was the one who had the wall built. The Thais from the moo ban would indeed know about me, but they might not know very much and a lot of that gossip would be wrong. quote " If she had nothing to keep her warm how did she survive 80 more years of cold Seasons? She probably was lonely with no family or friends to be with her. " I have no idea as she lives far from me and you have no idea either as she lives nowhere near you.
