  1. Actually that is NOT the way it is. If he really was that upset about it, he should have quit the army, stood for an election and let the people of Thailand decide their own future. So far he has never stood for an election and is the PM by virtue of rigging the constitution and packing the UNELECTED by anybody senate with his family, cronies and anybody who agreed with him. IMHO WHEN the general goes, Thailand and the Thai people will start on the long hard road back to elected democracy. Elected democracy by the Thai people, is a term that the Thai military does not understand and is unwilling to accept.
  2. How do YOU know that it is a false statement? Do you have any actual proof or are you making allegations as usual with nothing to back it up? Even here you provide no proof. Still no proof that will stand up in court. If there was, then it would have gone to court a long time ago.
  3. Well there is this tricky little thing called evidence or proof. If you have it and can prove it, then go for it. OTOH if all you have is allegations and no proof, it tends to be a bit tricky. 63 court cases brought by Trump's lawyers, many in front or Republican courts, would be a case in point.
  4. Did you forget the marriage income requirement of 40K or retirement income of 65K thb per month? Perfectly legal provided it can be proved.
  5. He single handedly ( with a little help from the army plus Suthep Thaugsuban and the PDRC, the Yellow shirts and a few hangers on) saved Thailand from an elected democracy to a Thai military democracy. The PDRC, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People's_Democratic_Reform_Committee
  6. IMHO instead of an 8 month sentence suspended for 1 year, Anne Sacoolas should have been extradited to the UK and given 8 years with NO suspension.
  7. You won't change his blinkered mind at all. Thaksin is guilty. Current lot are not. That is his single thought.
  8. Why did that party offer to buy the rice at that price? To help the poor farmers. This is the same party that was subjected to yet another military coup and the current government sold the rice off for a small loss. What has this current government done for the poor farmers? Nothing at all and little or nothing for the poor people of Thailand. What have the done for the military? Squandered billions of baht buying useless things like submarines and now they want to buy 2, count them 1, 2. F35 stealth fighters with no weapons systems.
  9. Less new cars and mia noi's for the obscenely rich.
  10. But I am already only 5 km from the IO, where the staff are farang friendly, welcoming and very helpful. If it takes 30 minutes including travel each way, that would be 10 minutes a month or less than 30 seconds a day. I am sure that I won't miss the time I spend in my busy life as a 78 year old. Especially as my wife will do the driving and humping of the bulk shopping.
  11. I live 70 km from the IO office at Kamphaeng Phet and I slot my 90 reports on the same day that I do a once a month bulk shop at BigC and Makro. The IO is 5 km out of town and a 90 day report generally takes about 5 minutes. My marriage extension took a couple of hours as I had forgotten the bank guarantee letter and had to go back into KPP to get it.
  12. You only need to do that every time you need a new passport, which IIRC is once every 10 years, followed by a trip to VFS in Bangkok. Have you lost the facility of handwriting over the years you have been here?
  13. No, it isn't the end of the story, regardless of what your opinion is on the subject matter.
  14. Twice the square root of SFA.

    Cargo Shorts

One of the best inventions in mens wear in years. If you don't like them, then don't wear them.
  16. There is a shop called Britishop in Ban Lamung, and I believe that they can ship to anywhere in Thailand. https://britishop.com/shop?utm_source=google&utm_medium=adwords&gclid=CjwKCAiAs8acBhA1EiwAgRFdw8qWD3lkH5V5sqGUAF7j2YGM63Lzv_C4NnGaFCXIdPzD8CMFIl0f6BoCOwYQAvD_BwE I am not sure if is of any help to you, but they do have a large selection of stock.
  17. I don't put any stock in any of your posts. Or the Danegeld as a tribute.
  18. I am 78, still driving and I have no idea if I will reach 94 years old. What I do know is that if I have to travel anything more than perhaps 50 km, my 57 year old wife insists on driving me, which is probably a good thing.
  19. That was one of the few bits that I remember from my Christian education. I gave that faith up about 60 years ago.
  20. ????? I have no idea, being a lapsed Christian and never been a Muslim or a Buddhist
  21. There is a vast difference between " interfering in a government procurement process" and a military coup. If you do not understand that or have a problem with that then there is no point in discussing it. One is a civil offence where evidence has to be shown to the court along with proof, and not alleged proof. A military coup is treason against an elected government.
  22. Equally if the boozers had been closed at midnight it probably would not have happened either.
  23. Looking at the video it appears that the crossing has half or a little more barriers. It also looks like the car driver got bored with waiting and decided to drive around the barrier without anybody getting out of the car to check if there was a train coming. I feel more sorry for the train driver as there is no way he could have stopped in time.
  24. I never had much of a problem in the RAF with senior NCOs bullying except at Wildenrath, My chief there who shall remain nameless, used to go to lunch in the SNCO mess and drink his lunch as he was an alcoholic. He would come back late as usual and start to pick on my mate Barry at which point he would then pick on me. I got so fed up with it that one afternoon I threatened to drop him and he went OTT. I ignored him and went to the office and reported both him and me. My WO told me that if it happened again to ignore my C/T and go straight to the office. 2 weeks later I was posted to another section and my C/T was taken aside and given an informal warning. 3 months later he was posted back to the UK.
