Thai Navy plans to salvage the sunken HTMS Sukhothai
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A different group has been doing that since Sunday. There is always the possibility that the missing crewmen are still in the sunken ship. -
Jeremy Clarkson says he is 'horrified' over Meghan column
billd766 replied to Scott's topic in World News
I find your post to be completely off the topic and a poor attempt at diversion. The topic, in case you had forgotten, is this, "Jeremy Clarkson says he is 'horrified' over Meghan column" -
Did you see where he was at the time? quote "US President Joe Biden has condemned antisemitism at a White House party to commemorate the second day of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights."

Thai Navy plans to salvage the sunken HTMS Sukhothai
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The search is still continuing at the same time as HTMS Bang Rachan will go out with a submersible to carry out a survey of the sunken vessel. It is quite possible to do 2 things concurrently. There are enough ships, helicopters, drones and aircraft to do that task, whilst another ship is given a different task. -
Jeremy Clarkson says he is 'horrified' over Meghan column
billd766 replied to Scott's topic in World News
It all depends on who you class as "Most People". I have just had a wander through Google Search, and it seems as though more Brits support the Royal Family than support Harry and Meghan. Personally I am one of those who don't support Harry and Meghan. I think that she saw a greater opportunity and the chance to be a real princess and an outside possibility of being a queen, instead of what she was, which was a relatively unknown (outside of the USA) actress. That didn't happen so she has fallen back on simply being a drama queen instead. As for Harry, he was big enough and old enough to make his own mistakes, and IMHO, Meghan is one of them. I have not seen or read the Jeremy Clarkson article, but I think as with most of his stuff, he over exaggerates. It is simply who and what he is. Again IMHO Meghan is not the nicest person in the world, and seems to have a huge chip on her shoulder because she couldn't get her own way. She comes across to me as one of the "Don't you know who I am" sort of people. -
I have just read a report in the "other" newspaper, that the extra people on board were a detachment of marines who were heading back to Sattahip. It is unlikely IMO that they would have been issued with their own life vests and if they were not normally part of the ships compliment and unexpectedly shipped on board during the voyage, then the ship would not have provisioned extra life vests before it left port.

8.1 million Thais are poor, 4.4 million below poverty line – NESDC
billd766 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well IMHO, they cared a lot more than most other politicians before or since, and certainly more that any coup government. -
It depends on how many life vests there were. If there enough for the normal crew, that would be fine. In hindsight, extra life vests should have been provided for the extra people. That they may not have been is an error of somebody's judgement. OTOH it has been decades since the last time an RTN ship was sunk. The Titanic should serve as an example. There were not enough lifeboats provided as she was said to be "unsinkable". That was changed very quickly afterwards.

Well he must have done a lot right for them as he won his first term at a free election by the Thai people and at the next free election he did it again and won an overall majority. How was he removed from power, By a coup, naturally. How was his sister removed from power when she was on track to win a second election? By a coup, naturally, once again. -

You did miss it. It was among the dozens of other "extra' public holidays given by the loveable Prayuth over the last 8 years. -

Besides that the PTP has not been in power for 8 long years, and the current government doesn't give a damn about the poor, especially those below the poverty line. -

People To Rise Up Against Senators-Picked PM: Thanathorn
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We should also not forget that just after the last election Thanathorn's party was dissolved and over 6 million voters were disenfranchised, and their votes simply thrown away. We should also not forget that a lot of minnow parties were given party list seats even though they did not reach the ECs own level of votes to obtain those seats. Very many Thais DID know what they were voting for, but cheated out of it anyway. -
I am sorry. I meant to say which country did you test drive it in?
-
How much is a set of new batteries going to cost, and how long will the batteries last? I would suspect that a Tesla will devalue far more, and far quicker than a Toyota Camry over the same period. quote "I've driven a 2021 Model S Plaid. 0-60 in 2 seconds. Unreal." Where did you manage to drive the Tesla that quickly?

America’s biggest shale operator says more drilling will hurt the industry

Here is an interesting piece about shale oil from the Encyclopedia Britannica. It is too long to copy and paste but interesting.
