  1. My State pension has been paid from the DWP direct to Wise UK for the last 5 years, and I have had no problem with either of them.
  2. Easy enough. Have a bye election voted on by the Thai constituents at his expense and accept the result. His daughter is eligible. If she wins then she takes his place, if she loses, tuff.
  3. I just clicked on the article in your OP easily and read it. It was easy to do.
  4. But unless you personally know him, or were present at the autopsy. you DON'T know. You guess badly, but have no real idea.
  5. From the BBC News website this morning. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn02pz4wnyro An item from the link. quote "But Israel's prime minister struck a defiant tone, insisting its troops must control Gaza's Philadelphi Corridor - a strategically important strip of land which is a sticking point in negotiations with Hamas".
  6. He was an adult, all grown up, married with a baby on they way. He was big enough and old enough to make up his own mind. Before the split I would think that he sought the opinions and advice of his family and then made his decision. Whether it was the right or wrong decision, it was his alone to make, probably involving his wife. possibly if he had left quietly without insulting his family, he and his children may have been welcomed back, quietly, into the family. But his wife would most likely not be welcomed. I believe that before the marriage, his wife had aspirational dreams that she would be a "fairytale" Princess and perhaps even be a Queen one day. She probably had no idea how hard the work would be, nor of the hours that have to be put in nor of the fact that at some point they would have to entertain, with a smile, people that she might not like, or even detest without complaint. He made his bed and he has to lie in it, like it or not. That is my opinion anyway.
  7. I agree with you except I would call the post double BS. Where you can park makes a lot of difference if you have ANY disablement.
  8. Why do I not need to worry about Thais who are disabled?
  9. I suspect that it will be up to the OPs IO. Some are friendly and very helpful, yet other offices are not.
  10. Even Oliver Cromwell did not last that long. Oliver Cromwell (born April 25, 1599, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, England—died September 3, 1658, London) was an English soldier and statesman, who led parliamentary forces in the English Civil Wars and was lord protector of England, Scotland, and Ireland (1653–58) during the republican Commonwealth. There is an interesting biography here https://www.britannica.com/biography/Oliver-Cromwell His was the last military coup (that I know of) in the UK and that was nearly 300 years ago.
  11. https://www.cfr.org/blog/china-has-become-major-source-sovereign-default-risk#:~:text=Though China began scaling back,Lanka%2C Ghana%2C and Zambia. Though China began scaling back its lending in 2020, it remains the most critical creditor in international negotiations to stabilize the over-indebted nations of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ghana, and Zambia. Increasingly, those politics involve China, whose massive Belt and Road lending initiative, launched in 2013, boosted its position as the dominant creditor to low-income countries—as shown in the right-hand figure above. Does that ring a bell for the HST in Thailand. There is more information in the link. How about this link? https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/us/these-countries-owe-the-most-debt-to-china-is-your-one-of-them/articleshow/112874819.cms?from=mdr There are 14 countries (see the link for details) who are in debt to China for varying amounts mostly for the Belt and Road program. Are all of the countries at fault for the same reason?
  12. Thank you for your advice. However being unable to walk any great distance, it actually does affect me and judging from some of the posts, it actually affects more than just me. It also affects many Thais who are disabled also. They are not guests in Thailand.
  13. I have to use a stick to walk with nowadays. Last Tuesday at BigC KPP both disabled slots were empty so my wife parked in one. As I got out., some numpty in a minibus tried to park in the second slot. It was difficult for him as the pickup door on the passenger side was open and I was walking into the second slot to stop him. Eventually he got the idea and buggered off somewhere else to park. When we came in I saw at least 30 empty parking spaces but of course he would have had to walk further to get to the entrance.
  14. The Chinese would willingly help with financial assistance, until the locals can't pay the bill. Ask Sri Lanka what happens when they default on the loan.
  15. And you won't get rid of the Chinese easily.
  16. Yes there is a retirement extension without 800k thb in the bank. You can transfer a minimum of 65k per month (beware of the forex rates) into your bank account and get an extension. You also need to prove that the funds came in from offshore, easy enough using Wise and Bangkok Bank.
  17. A military coup is NEVER the solution. otherwise Thailand would be among the leading countries of the world, having had so many military coups since 1932.
  18. Of course you could always park a little further away and walk to the 7/11.
  19. Sadly ignorance has no national boundaries, neither does stupidity. I also use a walking stick and on a good day I can manage about 50 metres of walking before I have to stop for a rest. Fortunately I live in rural Thailand where the number of numpties are far less. If I have a problem while I am out there at the shops there are always good and kind Thais who offer to help me. They always offer to wait and let me go first.
  20. Still waiting for your links. I have run 5, you? Oh wait, you just run away! Somebody copy/paste this for suzy as she blocked me Aren't you the unlucky one. I blocked it early on along with as many other user names of it that I could think of.
  21. But Hilary Clinton was not the opposition for Trump when he lost against President Bush.
  22. Please don't read this link if that is your belief. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election Nominee Joe Biden Donald Trump Party Democratic Republican Home state Delaware Florida[c] Running mate Kamala Harris Mike Pence Electoral vote 306 232 States carried 25 + DC + NE-02 25 + ME-02 Popular vote 81,283,501[1] 74,223,975[1] Percentage 51.3% 46.8% Trump lost the popular vote by 7,059,526 votes Trump lost the Electoral College by 84 votes No matter how many times Trump lied saying that he didn't lose. He LOST. IMHO it is too late for the gop to dump Trump and Vance and replace them with new candidates, and I don't think Trump would even accept being replaced. The gop are bringing about their own self inflicted destruction. I think that after the election there will be the official gop, and a hardcore offshoot who believe that Trump will become their saviour.
  23. Does Trump even have a platform, other than ignoring all the advice given to him by his advisors? Never mind. You just keep on supporting him.
  24. As the election has not been held yet, how can Trump who is not the President, call out the National Guard. He is, believe it or not, an ordinary citizen with no authority.
  25. Please explain what benefits the illegals are getting.
