It's called the electoral college and it was enshrined in the constitution by wise men. Basically it stops the populous coastal states dominating the elections over the less populated central states. The US is not a homogeneous nation, in case you had not noticed. I'm sure google can help you understand it better.

I find it completely bizarre that it's even a "thing". Apparently it's only a "thing" in America. For some strange reason, killing foetuses is so important to American women that a presidential election could be decided because of it. Happily I live in a country where it wasn't even mentioned in the last election. Perhaps women here are aware of contraception, and they are not in the US.

While I had a lot of experience with children ( I worked on a children's ward for a year and lived with a woman that had two preteen children ) I have nothing but gratitude for never having any of my own. If I had wanted a pleasant life with a dependent I'd have got a dog.

Simples. The only realistic alternative is Harris and IMO they rather be decapitated than vote for her. Just not voting would allow her to win, so they will vote for Trump. Blame the Dems for putting up someone that is so unpopular that people would rather vote for Trump.

I had not thought of that and I have no doubt that it's being considered. I don't think they'd go through with it though, as even they must see what the result would be.

Why would he? He's been around as long as I can remember with his tv show and his first wife. Even if he loses I doubt the media will let him retire quietly. They need him for their ratings ( will CNN survive without Trump? ).

It's a bit too soon to count on robots, though androids will certainly be the answer when they are perfected, but that won't be till AI actually exists. Euthanasia on demand would make a difference right now. The only problem would be making enough to fill demand. Facing having to go into a rest home for any but the rich is probably enough to have people wanting such. It would certainly be my preferred choice.
