Because when the US allows illegals to stay, it encourages the liberal idiots in other countries to do the same. We are lucky that NZ is too far for the rubber boats, but I was worried that the last mob would send ships or planes to bring them in. We have enough problems without illegals as well.

I believe he was the last POTUS to actually serve in harm's way as a pilot in the Pacific with 58 combat missions. I certainly respected Carter though he was unfortunate with his military disaster trying to rescue the hostages. Seemed like a decent man, which made him a rarity among POTUS
