  1. Of course, but what I meant is that if I leave the country for more than 26 weeks in a year they cancel my pension entirely. Then I get zero. I did the 26 weeks thing for many years, but too old to be messing around like than now. It's either there or here and I can't afford there without a pension.
  2. IMO people will believe conspiracy theories because they don't trust the government/ authorities to tell the truth.
  3. I'm tempted to agree, but I'd better not.
  4. Get the popcorn ready, as it's going to be a cliff hanger, unless something really unexpected happens in the rest of the month. It's going to getting real interesting from now on.
  5. So they don't prepare for the worse and be happy if it's not too bad? No wonder they are in trouble if that's the level of intelligence in the people supposed to prepare the defenses in an area that expects storms. We've been told for ages that storms are getting worse, but seems in certain circles that isn't happening, and they are unprepared when it happens. At a minimum they should be prepared for a loss of cell communication.
  6. That was not true when I got divorced. I had no legalised translation of my passport. Just ask at the office one is getting divorced at- how difficult is that?
  7. I didn't need a witness at Lamphun. Just me and the wife.
  8. You can only get married to a Thai if you have a certified passport copy, so why would you need one to get divorced? Luckily the Lamphun office didn't require any of that nonsense.
  9. You'll only know if you ask them.
  10. Herpes is forever. I pity the women that you don't care enough about to protect them from whatever you may have.
  11. That's no excuse for not using a condom with a casual lover.
  12. Errrrr, if a woman has sex with a man not her husband it's likely she has sex with more than one man, ergo she is promiscuous. I'm amused that any man thinks a non married woman is any more likely to be a one man woman than any unmarried man is likely to be a one woman man.
  13. I knew the navy was in trouble, but I never imagined it had got this bad. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/hmnzs-manawanui-on-fire-and-tilting-badly-after-it-ran-aground-off-the-coast-of-samoa-last-night/44PLWNBV6RBVJHLVHARNGMOUKU/?ref=readmore The Navy vessel HMNZS Manawanui sank after catching fire and running aground near Upolu, Samoa, this morning. Head of Navy and Defence Minister Judith Collins praised Commander Yvonne Gray’s leadership during the nighttime evacuation in challenging conditions. As said one woman about another! Not running the ship onto a reef would have been better "leadership". Perhaps we will know why the ship ran aground in the first place after the investigation. NZ seems to be having problems with captains of vessels with the inter island ferries running aground or driving into piers recently. Perhaps the good captains have all left for Australia to get paid better.
  14. Common sense has triumphed as the "5 star hotel" envisaged by the IMO bureaucrat idiots that run Antarctica NZ has been cut by the government as costing too much ( no surprise there ). However the stated excuse ( too risky to transport ) by the numpties is IMO just blatant lies trying to excuse their idiocy in trying to build it in the first place. It's a small base in Antarctica for working people and scientists, not a tourist hotel for millionaires. https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350332203/antarctica-nz-confirms-new-plan-scott-base-redevelopment Antarctica New Zealand has confirmed a new plan for the redevelopment of Scott Base, scrapping a previous design it says was too risky to transport. I actually knew the man that designed the existing rebuild, and he was ( died long ago ) an object of ridicule by the people that worked down there. A shining example of someone that knows nothing about something thinking they know everything about it. Seems his legacy lived on too long. Ref the photo of the ship delivering the modules to the base site. That area was always iced in in the past, and while it may have changed recently, there is no telling that when it came time to deliver the modules that it would be ice free all the way to McMurdo, which would require begging the US to use the icebreakers to make a way for the ship and that would not be cheap. Like I said, bunch of numpties. BTW, in the photo the existing base has gone, so one wonders where the base staff would be living while the new base was installed
  15. Rather than begging for more funds that will have to be added to the enormous debt the US has, it's time to stop spending money on the Gaza/ Lebanon conflict and the Ukraine war. Use that money which will not add to the debt for Americans in need and not for killing people.
  16. Should be easy to disprove- just open the books to public view.
  17. LOL. On one of the islands I ordered an egg salad and got sliced boiled egg, with no salad. My Thai GF at the time didn't let me complain. Probably wise as had I done so and got some lettuce to add who know what "extras" it may have had included? A good lesson I learned in LOS is if have a problem with one place just don't return. Complaining does not work. At least in LOS there are plenty of places to choose from.
  18. If you don't know that US and British humour is different I see no point in spending my time to educate you.
  19. When I was young Japanese products were a joke they were so bad. By the time I grew up they made the best on the planet. I bought a Japanese socket set which cost a great deal of money, because it was better than British best. Makita make tools as good or better than the competition, but they cost a lot, so I usually by cheap junk like B & D as I can probably buy 3 of them for the same price as a Makita equivalent.
  20. Why exclude those in Thailand? They are intelligent enough to dump the western country they come from and move to a better country. The only reason I'm not there is my country refuses to give me my pension in LOS, so I'm trapped.
  21. In an age of AI you must be a bit naive to believe that anything online is secure against hackers. Criminals probably pay better than the government or banks for good hackers.
  22. I thought you didn't believe in God. In any event, even if God cared about humans ( why would God care about a bunch of warmongers intent on destroying the planet with pollution ) it's a stretch to believe that God takes sides in human affairs.
  23. So, when Hamas does it it's bad, but when israelis do something bad in your opinion it's OK. Strange sense of morality you have, IMO.
