Seems he and I served for about the same length of time. I was in regulars for over 10 years and the rest in Territorials ( equivalent to National Guard ). So I have nothing to be ashamed of. Like him I never served on active service, but that was because the war stopped before I got there, not because I resigned before I could get sent. Do tell about this "code"? You make it sound like a secret brotherhood or something, LOL. Can't say I ever noticed anything like that. But then no one ever came up to me in the street to thank me for my service either. Perhaps it's different in the States. I met many US navy personnel in Antarctica, and most were stand up guys. I liked them a lot. They certainly knew how to party.

The POTUS is CIC, which means he is responsible for what happens. If incapable of that he shouldn't be POTUS. You have plenty of excuses for your hero. You blame Trump despite him not being CIC at the time.

While I can agree with that there are those on here that will never accept that Putin is anything but the devil incarnate, the antiChrist and Trump rolled into one. It's because of attitudes like that in western positions of authority that we are closer to nuclear winter than ever before. While I am no Russia supporter I don't trust the cabal that gave us Vietnam, Gulf 1 and 2, 20 years too long in Afghanistan and a proxy war in Ukraine.

Perhaps, but did she talk about her policies? Did she make promises that she can be held to? Talk is cheap, and Ken Dodd got on well with people, but no one would have voted him for POTUS ( had he been an American ).

To be a candidate for POTUS it should be mandatory that they have some experience of running a business or equivalent, and some experience of a job in the real world. People just been in politics or government since their first job have no idea about what it's like for ordinary people.

I agree. If we added up all the posts that are just hate dribble about Trump, and all the posts that discuss his policies the dribble posts would be way more. I even saw one poster that said Trump has no policies, LOL. It's sad, but when posters of a certain mind set have nothing to say they sometimes post "I hate Trump" nonsense over and over and over. It'd be great if occasionally said why they hate him without the usual rant. I've posted many times about hating her, but I try to include a reason along with the dislike. What does concern me though is that they will post something that I dispute, and they'll ignore my explanatory post and just keep saying the exact same thing again. But how would anyone be able to debate with someone that denies Trump has policies, especially when Harris is stealing some of them- tips in Nevada anyone?

I'd say it's Harris's to lose, but she may yet do something on the lines of Clinton's "deplorables" comment. There is yet time for her mask to slip and the real Harris to be seen. If the press was as nasty to her as it is to Trump, she wouldn't stand a chance, IMO. They are covering for her big time.

I can agree with that, but isn't that how US politics works? Harris never became POTUS candidate by her own efforts- she has been imposed on America, and the world ( if she wins ).

Strange then that prior to WW2 most people in western countries had jobs ( leaving aside the depression ) that didn't depend on mega international companies that put profit ahead of humans. The rise of conglomerates has not been good for ordinary people, but like the devil, big business has been able to fool most as to the truth. Sadly I think it's far too late to go back to a better world and our way of life is over, but most just don't realise it yet. Like the Romans, our real rulers suppress the mob with bread and circuses. It was great ride for me, being born at just the right time to get the best of what our society was able to deliver, but it's over. Sayonara baby, it's been real while it lasted.

I hope they catch him before he escapes to a life of luxury in exile. Death would be too kind, so a small cage in a zoo would be a fitting home for him. It'll be interesting what they decide to do with the military. I suspect some death marches may occur.
