Unchecked Migration Threatens Britain's Social Fabric
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Unless he is or wants to be a Thai citizen he is not an immigrant. Are you not aware of what NON IMMIGRANT on our visas means? -
I had to look up who Borrell is, and seems he's just another EU time waster sucking on the taxpayers tit. When they say things like "Europe is a garden. We have built a garden. Everything works. It is the best combination of political freedom, economic prosperity and social cohesion that the humankind has been able to build – the three things together," Borrell said during the event." one knows they are idiots that live in a bubble divorced from reality. If Europe worked it wouldn't be full of people that hate everything the west is.

Thanks for posting that. Very interesting. If true it must be exercising western tank makers, as that is a pretty shoddy performance considering how they were going to win the war. We don't hear much about that any more and have not heard about how the orcs are losing either. Could it all be falling apart? Oh no, the orcs might win, the sky is falling. It was a bit amusing that Zelensky wants the west to front up with hundreds of modern tanks, considering the west doesn't actually have many and they might just possibly need them themselves. One of the bases I worked on had a working Centurion tank, but they rarely drove it because it's too thirsty. Takes a lot of petrol to move something that heavy. Another takeaway from vdo is that the Leopard is a better tank than the Challenger. Considering the Brits invented the things, one might expect them to do better, but I've seen a few British WW2 tanks and was not impressed. However, can anything match the Sherman for it's ability to catch fire ( the Germans apparently called it a Tommy cooker ), and who thought it a good idea to use petrol in a tank? Anyway, tanks are probably going the way of the battleship. One guy with a shoulder mounted weapon can immobilise any tank simply by damaging the suspension or drive wheel. Millions of $ worth of tank immobilised by a guy with an RPG.

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
As long as Russia is banned an israeli should be banned. As usual the organisers came up with some BS excuse to allow her to compete. I hope her song gets drowned out by booing. BTW there is going to be more media attention to outside than inside, and a good thing too. Draw as much attention to israeli war crimes as possible, wake those that are asleep up. -
While I was a privileged white child, the world I grew up in was better than now. Kids were safe to play away from home all day, crime was minimal compared to today, I wasn't fearful of being beaten up for being white, and when it came time to get a job I had loads to choose from, without needing a barrow load of qualifications. I left school with no qualifications and still had 3 different careers. We wanted less, and had a better life for it. No personal computers, no mobile phones, no amplified noise masquerading as music, and best of all no social media, no twit thing or x as it is now, no facethingy, no fast food, no plastic Maccers, cars looked different, even if they needed more maintenance, and we could maintain them ourselves. We had people in banks instead of a machine, no one was thinking of getting rid of money and forcing people to use a machine. But better than all that, greed didn't rule the world.

There were as many horrible posters on TV as there are now on AN, but I never felt the need to put them on ignore, as I do now. Seems that the insults got more vicious. I have a theory about that but not permitted to post it. I certainly spent a lot more hours on it than I do on AN. There were more interesting posters IMO, and more interesting threads. However, everything changes or ends, and not normally for my benefit, so put up with it ( or use the ignore function a lot ), or join the many that chose to leave.

My little contribution to forum guidelines

Unfortunately this forum is populated by many that think they can personally insult other posters. Most of them inhabit my ignore list. -
Are you saying that we should be OK that israelis have blown up thousands of children, because they are Jews? It doesn't work that way. If anyone is going to blow up thousands of children, oppress the legal owners of land they want to steal, carry out collective punishment and starve millions, don't expect to be given a pass because of your religion.

Unprecedented: Oceans' Record Heat Streak Surges to 13 Months
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Have you ever been to Auckland? If you have you'd know. IMO it should be bulldozed into the ocean, and good riddance. A "luvvie" thinks they are saving the planet by driving an EV. In Auckland they ignore that the the electricity they use to charge them comes from Huntly, which burns dirty coal from overseas because the last lot banned us using cleaner NZ coal. -

Where on earth did you get the idea that I want to "solve the problem by more taxes"? Who have you been confusing me with? I think it's all made up BS to make Elon and his fellow 1% rich. I don't think it's possible to change the weather, so I don't care about doing anything, as nothing we do will make a difference, IMO. I made the only sacrifice for the future worth a damn- I didn't have any children. I probably make less pollution than you too, as I recycle as much as possible, and I rarely use my car. I even have an electric scooter to go to town on. My electricity is generated by hydro. I do none of that to "save the planet". I'd do it anyway. Haven't been in the UK since 2009 when I moved to Thailand. I never had a vehicle of my own there as public transport is good enough. Likewise in Thailand, though in Lamphun I used my wife's m'bike as non existent local public transport. Don't need a car, could just get an E-MC. What are you blathering about? how would I transport 6 sacks of dirt on a m'bike? I moved several 3 meter planks recently, so how would I do that on a m'bike? I picked up 4 large shopping bags of kiwifruit rejects from a farmer I know the other day. How would I carry them on a m'bike? You have no idea what I carry around in my car, or what I use it for. -
Thai Airways Confronts Social Media Storm Over Faulty Seats
thaibeachlovers replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Given the mechanicals are looked after by a different mob than the interior cleaning, and have to pass checks to fly I think you are being somewhat alarmist. I used to fly Saudia, and on one trip part of the wing fell off. Rather more important than if the seat legs got cleaned properly. I never had a flight on Thai when part of the wing fell off. NHS hospitals were pretty filthy when I used to work in a few, but the important bits, like the theatres were pretty good. The cleaners didn't maintain the operating equipment. -
Thai Airways Confronts Social Media Storm Over Faulty Seats
thaibeachlovers replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not when I was flying with them, and I did so for 10 years. I swore never to fly again with British Airways and Air NZ after experiencing their terrible cabin service, and Thai was just fine. However, I didn't like the seats on the 777, preferring the 747. -

Given the cost of an EV, the only way I'll ever have one of those if it's a mobility scooter. Till then I'm driving on petrol and happy to do so. NZ probably pollutes less, with all it's cars added together, in a year than London does in a week. An EV will be a rarity here, IMO, but I don't live in that cesspit Auckland, the home of the luvvies. -
Why the hush money case against Donald Trump is on shaky ground
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Given my opinion that all the 91 or something cases against Trump were cobbled together after Trump decided to run again, it's not surprising to me that they are rubbish have problems. -
Had I had an affair with one of my patients I think I'd have been trouble as I'd be accused of using my position to influence her. Even more relevant because of the longer involvement for teachers. Were it a male teacher and a female student we all know how it would end up, which irks me a lot, as female's that use their position to obtain sex get an easier ride, IMO. Re the impact on the victims involved, LOL. I expect the lads will be quite chuffed at getting a leg over an older woman

Isn't every politician attempting to "influence an election" when they trot out their lies about how much they care for each and every one of us, and how they are going to make it so much better in the future? I'd like to see several politicians in court for false advertising.
