  1. What's all this "Chancellor" stuff? Since when was the PM called a Chancellor?
  2. If Sunak hadn't run off to suck up to netanyahu, and had called for a ceasefire in the UN instead of a gutless abstention, and if he wasn't sending munitions to kill defenseless civilians in Gaza, likely there wouldn't be any "increased" antisemitism.
  3. He was saying they expected to be nuked at the outset, not that the Russians would fight a conventional war.
  4. Oh that's classic. Trump can point to his wall that could have prevented the horde invading, while Biden's record is of allowing, nay encouraging them to enter in the gaps of the wall that Biden himself stopped the building of. I'd have thought Biden's minders would have thought better than to bring him to the scene of what is likely to be his worst decisions of the past 3 years. If the best he can do is burble about a "bipartisan bill" he really is in trouble, IMO.
  5. Let us understand why people may wish to attack MPs, and even more, let us fear the emergence of a government class that becomes dictator while shielded by it's very own militarised protection force. The answer to public outrage over MP behaviour isn't to hide behind a security force, but to start doing a better job.
  6. The OP is only what I've been saying for ages. The alarmism over an aging population and a shortage of workers necessitating increased immigration is pointless when our mechanical friends will be taking over just about every human working activity. All those immigrants will be unemployed and unemployable. I think it's a mistake to make them humanoid though, unless for an industry where it's appropriate, as in the sex industry.
  7. From the Guardian. Just how stupid do the israelis think we are to believe a barking excuse like that? In any event, one needs to look at WHY hundreds/ thousands were trying to get food off the trucks, and that is because, as is common knowledge, israel isn't allowing enough food into Gaza. Whatever the reason they died, no matter if it was 112 or 12 people died, it was IMO caused by israeli crimes against humanity by using starvation as a weapon. Israel will be judged by history, and the millions of Palestinians living outside Palestine will never forget. Israel will IMO have perpetual war as long as it exists. https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2024/feb/29/middle-east-crisis-live-updates-israel-hamas-war-latest-today-gaza-death-toll-hamas-health-ministry There were conflicting reports about events leading up to the deaths. Witnesses said Israeli troops fired on a large crowd of Palestinians racing to pull food off an aid convoy, and Gaza’s health ministry described it as a “massacre”. Israel challenged the death toll and said many of the victims were run over by the trucks.
  8. I'll only add that IMO many scientists find the results that guarantee their salaries. Is it your contention that if we stopped using every form of CO2 creating machine on the planet tomorrow it would prevent the climate from changing? Apart from the fact that if we stopped using diesel engines any time soon the problem of climate would be irrelevant as most people would die of starvation, climate will continue to change regardless. All that CO2 is in the atmosphere and no one has convinced me it will vanish. It would help if people stopped burning the rainforest to make hamburgers and palm oil, but that activity shows no sign of stopping, and is apparently increasing.
  9. Errrr, do you want to revisit the reason the dinosaurs died out? While the meteor impact may have triggered a cold period, it wasn't a "normal" ice age as part of the climate cycle.
  10. I read a great deal of concern for the climate but other than expensive conferences that could be done by VDO conferencing, governments are doing sod all other than introducing as many taxes as they can. Someone is havin' a laff at us- probably the people making loadsacash off it.
  11. What fear and loathing? IMO it's more that they dislike that the LGBTQ community keep thrusting their ideology into the faces of people that don't agree with it. I doubt many or any want them stoned to death like a certain other community do. There isn't any such problem where I live because the LGBTQ keep the propaganda out of sight. No gay parades or such like.
  12. "There is no doubt", but unless you have a working crystal ball you have ZERO way of knowing that.
  13. You guys are just hilarious. It's like you believe that a president can change the constitution just because- so funny.
  14. ? Are you claiming that Trump was saying he wants to commit a fraud? Even for Trump, that seems somewhat erroneous.
  15. I agree that both are too old, and IMO too divisive, too risky to vote for. If anyone wants an example of how broken America is, just look at who the two current candidates for POTUS are. In what sane society would such a thing be allowed to happen? Where are the candidates offering a bright and shining future for the country?
  16. You seem to believe that having a college ( is that American for university? ) degree equates to increased intelligence which is a nonsense. Some of the most stupid people I have known had a ( university ) degree, and visa versa.
  17. Never going to happen without some provision for mandatory health insurance along with it. Thais are sick to the back teeth with foolish farangs that arrive without and end up being a burden for Thai hospitals. As for your premise, it may be too late. 20 years ago absolutely, but Thailand just wasn't that good any more when I departed for the last time. I'd still go back, but that's because of my history with the place.
  18. You assume that tomboys are "better" by being female, but I'm certain that there are as many rotten females out there as rotten men. I know, because I met a lot of rotten females at work.
  19. LOL. Women are great at faking it.
  20. Luckily for all the medical staff on the planet, a broken bone, a heart attack, a stroke etc can't be cured with the placebo effect.
  21. There are apparently Roman references to a man that fits that description, but it's irrelevant to what followed as the western "Jesus" is nothing like a man of that region, if you hadn't noticed. The Jesus of religion is probably nothing like the reality. He is a symbol for religion, not a real man, IMO.
  22. Do you believe in "LOVE"? Can you scientifically prove that it exists? I think not.
  23. So what? It's a western conflict and if you hadn't noticed Thailand is no longer a western lackey. If they want to make a few $ by servicing Russian aircraft good on them for not drinking the western propaganda Kool aid.
  24. I know it may not help, but when I had my root canals ( many of them ) done I was so relaxed that I fell asleep ( I didn't take any drugs ) and they had to put a block in to keep my mouth open. I am by nature an anxious person, so that was not because I didn't fear it, but because there was no pain at all, after the injections worked. I suggest asking the dentist to use a topical numbing agent before the injections to make that painless as well.
