Trump wins, Haley loses, Good result. Let's hope DeSantis gets back in the race. https://www.afr.com/world/north-america/haley-vows-to-stay-in-gop-race-even-if-she-loses-new-hampshire-20240124-p5eznp Concord, New Hampshire | Donald Trump beat outperforming rival Nikki Haley in a tightly run New Hampshire primary election, making the former president the first Republican to clean-sweep the first two state competitions since 1976.

My question would be, "why should the Palestinians live next to a race of people who are intent on stealing all their land"? And besides this, if the war, such as it is, will cease, it will just be back to israeli oppression, collective punishment, and continuing land theft. Seems like a simple solution, so why won't Hamas accept it? The answer could well be in the fact that they don't trust the israelis to uphold their side of any agreement.

Israel and Hamas fight house-to-house battles across Gaza
thaibeachlovers replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
I specifically DIDN'T say "anti israeli" protests, but seems even supporting Palestinians is now anti semitic according to some on here. BTW, IMO the world's oldest hatred predates Judaism by many thousands of years- it is hatred ( fear ) of the other that is not of the tribe. -
Israel and Hamas fight house-to-house battles across Gaza
thaibeachlovers replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
It is a crime against humanity when it's collective punishment. One suspects the word being looked for is "karma". You apparently would like anyone that doesn't support israel to go away. Not going to happen. Around the world Palestinian supporter numbers are growing every day, massive demonstrations calling for a ceasefire. Meanwhile, israel is slowly going broke with the cost of the conflict and it hasn't even kicked off properly in the north or the West Bank yet. https://www.timesofisrael.com/war-is-costing-economy-some-600m-a-week-due-to-work-absence-bank-of-israel/ The absence of thousands of workers from their jobs due to the ongoing war with the Hamas terror group has been costing the Israeli economy an estimated NIS 2.3 billion ($600 million) a week, or about 6 percent of the weekly GDP, according to a research report released by the Bank of Israel on Thursday. -
IMO every Hamas fighter knew at the start it was a fight to win or die. They know what happens to even innocent Palestinians arrested by the israelis, so they know it would be 100 times worse for them and IMO no desire to be captured alive. Given that even the Euros have jumped on the two state solution bandwagon and Biden has stated no israeli occupation of Gaza after, it looks like Hamas might even have won in the end, though at a cost of thousands of dead and wounded Palestinians. Expect netanyahu to resist the two state solution till he is finally ejected from politics, which IMO will be at the next election. No wonder he is wanting to continue the conflict till next year.

Trump wins Iowa caucuses, cementing frontrunner status in 2024 race

If the federal border patrol didn't cut the razor wire to let them through there would be less to catch. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/jan/22/supreme-court-remove-texas-razor-wire-mexico-border-biden The Biden administration is allowed to cut the razor wire deployed by Texas at the border with Mexico, the US supreme court ruled on Monday. -
I hope someone asks her why she never managed to do anything about the southern border, and if she failed there, why she feels she can do better on abortion. Anyway, what is her stance on it- free abortions for everyone perhaps? I think there are too many people on the planet, so I'm all for free abortions on demand, no questions asked, but I'd prefer free condoms or Depo injections instead. I really don't get the American obsession with abortion. NZ had an election last year and I doubt the subject even came up.

Agree 100%. Kids are a pain when traveling. However, the OP may want to support some other man's children for their entire life ( some posters apparently do ), and not have any time to relax with the beloved ( including rumpty in unusual places ). It's not like it's difficult to acquire a small version of oneself later in life if that is desired, after having done the childless thing for a few years.
-
Exactly my thinking. If I get together with a woman I want it to be about us, not a child, and if they love the child/ren it's always about the child/ren.
-
Not necessarily. She might be the one in a million genuine case, though I turned down a genuinely lovely woman that I really liked only because she came with a child. Been there done that and never ever ever ever again.

The heat and humidity....and this is the winter?? Yes, I loved that I never got cold in LOS. 3. Weaving through rush hour traffic on a motorcycle taxi - petrified Are you mad? They have actual taxis in case you didn't notice, where you don't risk getting your knees crushed. Nothing is important enough to take a m'bike taxi for, IMO. 5. How nice and helpful everyone was, everywhere Still wearing the saffron glasses then? Wait till you get conned, or have to deal with immigration! although a somtam dish with a crab in it was whipped away from me, as it would 'make sick' If you ordered that you must have been wanting food poisoning. The crab is raw, and if you saw where the sewage goes you will never eat sea food in LOS.

It's mainly by the better off Saudis who think they are "special". We are just infidels, so it's only right that they can q jump in front of us. BTW, the "poorer classes" would be the "guest workers". Other than the Bedouin ( wonderful people ) I never saw a poor Saudi.
-
It's nothing in LOS compared to Saudi. Just be grateful it's not as bad as there.

I don't like Trump, but I like his opposition ( Biden et al ) even less. If it takes Trump winning to give them a richly deserved slapping, so be it. PS, while I don't like Trump personally I like his policy of not starting wars very much. I also like his policies on immigration, and foreign affairs ( with the exception of those on Israel ).
-
No, I want Trump to win and take revenge on the Dems. They deserve him to win for their 90+ IMO politically inspired court cases. BTW is there such a thing as an anti Trump supporter? IMO one can be anti Trump, or a Trump supporter, not both at the same time. Of course one can BE an anti 'Trump supporter', and there are plenty of them on this forum.

America and Iran step closer to the brink of war
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If you had been following my posts on Ukraine you would know I'm against war. Had America used it's influence on Israel to create a Palestinian state thirty years ago, Hamas would not exist, October 7 would not have happened, the Houthis would not be targeting Israeli linked ships, and we wouldn't be watching 2.3 million people slowly being bombed to bits on tv. Next. -
America and Iran step closer to the brink of war
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I have no idea why you think that would work. For starters they would have thought of that, and any successful assassination would only result in new leaders even more determined to punish America. Do you imagine that if Iran managed to assassinate Biden and the cabinet the US would just roll over and cry about it? -
If It's NATO vs Russia I doubt conscripts will make any difference. BTW, if it did come to that they will have a problem finding fit ones, as looking at porn social media in mummy's basement isn't really providing warriors. Apparently the UK is finding it hard to get medically approved volunteers for the military as so many youths are obese over weight and unfit.
