  1. 2. IMO no males will be able to prove to the israeli's satisfaction that they are not Hamas supporters, as right now the desire of every able bodied male in Gaza is to kill as many israelis as possible. 3. The rest can then ............... surrender Never going to happen. They have nothing to lose, and IMO desire to kill as many israelis as possible before they are killed. IMO they are ready and waiting for the land invasion, where the Israeli military superiority is negated by the rubble that the israelis have created. If they did surrender, their fate is not something any would want- death would be preferable.
  2. The junk got dumped. It's like waking up from a nightmare. I had to check that it was true and not just a dream. Hurrah.
  3. You already said you know nothing about NZ politics so should not assume anything. Words like 'far 'left' ' authoritarian ' 'power freaks' are a good description of adhern's government. This was not a "normal swing" at all, it was a rejection of everything the labour party has done in it's last term. They alienated a large part of NZ, and did things I can't discuss on here. Many people were not just tired of them, they absolutely despised them. The only thing I'm surprised at is that so many still voted for them. The junk got dumped, hurrah, hurrah, hurrah. Hopefully they were not able to embed things not wanted to the extent that Nat/ Act can't get rid of them. It's going to take a lot of work to get NZ back to a country for ALL. Plenty of barking "green" policies that need to go first, and the farmers need to stop being penalized. My happiest moment last night was seeing a visibly defeated Hipkins making his final speech as PM. It was a moment I've waited for since adhern won with Peters joining her in what had to be the greatest political betrayal of my lifetime in NZ. That wasn't putting NZ first, it was putting Peters first.
  4. No. National and Act have an absolute majority, short of special votes changing it, but hopefully that will not happen. NZ first leader has agreed to support National if needed. My greatest fear was that NZ first would again backstab us and join labour, but that would not give them the majority so highly unlikely. I'll never forgive Peters for inflicting adhern on us.
  5. and israel has behaved exactly as they expected. It is happening slowly, but more people around the world are becoming revolted by israel's siege of Gaza, and it's going to bite them really hard, IMO.
  6. Actually it's entirely understandable and is nothing new. History is littered with similar events. Make people hate enough and the result is as seen. Is the bombing of a defenseless people in Gaza not similar with hundreds of children blown to bits, despite being carried out from high up in the sky, rather than face to face? In a previous intifada, israeli soldiers broke the bones of boys for throwing stones- every time they did so they created someone willing to murder innocents in israel. Hate just goes round and round. The israelis humiliate Gazans and Gazans kill israelis, then israelis blow children to bits, which makes millions of Arabs hate israel, which will result in.............................. The whirlwind is coming. The world is watching and the world will not forget. I disagree that they have not prepared. I'm sure they have prepared well for the land invasion.
  7. There are always riches to be made in times of trouble. Wonder how many weapons manufacturers JP Morgan is invested in.
  8. On that I can agree. Much fear and much desperation now that they realise the horde has been sacred off and they have been trying to get rid of farangs for decades by making it harder to stay.
  9. and you have your opinion because....................................? You have no idea of what I did back in the day before Thailand was ruined by Thaksin.
  10. pay 1.5x for the extra two hours. Provide extra for transportation Dreaming, right? The dancers already earn over minimum wage and have done so for a long time, though poorly frequented places may not be able to do so.
  11. I'm always puzzled by assertions that the price of booze puts people off visiting LOS. Are all potential visitors to LOS alcoholics?
  12. You must be new. They have been chasing the "rich" tourist for decades, but given that Thailand is less than "high end" with broken infrastructure, rubbish everywhere, congested cities with bad infrastructure, insane traffic, scams and dual pricing those rich tourists just keep staying away. American tourists have never been a common sight IMO, but Thailand's problems never kept European tourists away before. There were a small number of rich tourists, but they only stayed at 5 star places and didn't mingle with the common herd.
  13. Rubbish. I was a regular visitor in the days when bars were open longer and such was exceedingly rare.
  14. Expats don't need festivals. What they need is easier ways to stay.
  15. I guess they realised that expats exist in the country. No doubt they only care now because the horde isn't coming after all. If they want expats, they could issue 90 day visa exempt arrivals back to back, like I used to get long ago. I used to hate going anywhere near immigration office.
  16. He should be treated like any other 74 year old criminal.
  17. Just seeing his name makes me angry. I won't get angrier reading this thread.
  18. I certainly do. I want him locked up eating fish heads and rice till he dies. IMO he was the worst thing to happen to Thailand since the Japanese invaded.
  19. Ex-Thai PM Thaksin Undergoes Medical Scans, Health Condition Confirmed Stable That's a shame. How many criminals in Thai jails get a medical scan? That vile man needs to be put in one of the big rooms crammed with bodies, a hole to do one's business in and leg shackles.
  20. Who are you to decide who is a quality tourist?
  21. Before Thaksin, there were no bars along Sukhumvit, as the gogos were open longer, and dancers didn't look for customers outside the bars.
  22. New arrival? You don't seem to know much about it with that opinion. 4am is just going back to what it used to be before Thaksin's henchman tried to destroy farang nightlife. I used to frequent a gogo that was open past dawn, and it wasn't the only one by far. In Pattaya there were always bars open 24/7.
  23. If they are sending Iron Dome missiles to Israel which has had to defend against thousands of rockets, are there enough for the US to continue supplying Ukraine? The US has to keep enough for it's own defense. Since the israeli/ Gaza conflict started the news about Ukraine has stopped.
