Why do people on here call Thailand the land of smiles?
thaibeachlovers replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The comment refers to the fact that even a prostitute can fall in love, get married and have a good life with a partner. Doesn't matter how many men she has sex with, she can always make love if she chooses to. Having sex does not per se make anyone hard. IMO the prostitutes that fit your opinion are already damaged before they become prostitutes, and probably became prostitutes BECAUSE they were already damaged. NB my discussion of prostitutes refers only to those working in the farang scene in Thailand, not forced drug addled whores that one might meet in such places as London. -

I speak from my own actual real life experience in which prostitutes can be nicer than non prostitute women, and being paid to have sex is no worse than some of the jobs that I did. I also have over 30 years worth of actual real life experience of the world of prostitution. If having non loving sex is a problem, just about every man on the planet probably has that problem, and any woman that had a shag after a night at the pub as well. As far as gold diggers, they are not normal either, so you can't bring them into the realm of normal women. Falling in "love" with someone because of what they have or can give you isn't love but another transaction, and many times when that money runs low, they run away. IMO almost every woman on the planet that has a say in her sexuality would be a gold digger to some extent or has transactional sex in exchange for a ring, house, children etc. In my experience, for most "love" is just lust . -

It's my favourite Thorogood song. Can't believe that it's been so long ago that it came out. Makes me feel that I'm really old. -

Sex is not the same as making love, sex is just sex. It's entirely possible for someone to have sex for money ( what else are gold diggers doing if not exchanging sex for goods? ) and still fall in love. Your view point IMO is too narrow and humans are not bound by such narrow boundaries. We are all different and while we may conform to some rules, we make our own way mentally. I have known prostitutes that were lovely human beings and women that never got paid for sex that were loathsome people. BTW a vagina does not wear out no matter how many times it gets used. -
I wasn't going to respond to any more questions on here, but you raise an interesting point, so: If we believe that people were around before religion, why are there so many different religions around the world? Easy to answer that. Religion is a man made concept, ( unlike the existence of a non interfering God, creator, omnipotent being, or whatever one wants to describe God as ) and IMO religion began as a means to gain power and wealth from the primitive sheeple way back thousands of years ago. What better way to get a "sacrifice" of meat or fruit etc than to tell the gullible that thunder, or lightning, or a solar eclipse were the gods talking and if they didn't hand over the goodies the gods would make life unpleasant. Of course the con artists could "speak" to the gods on their behalf to "save" them, and when the storm passed or the eclipse ended, they could say "I spoke to the gods and you are saved, so keep handing over the goodies" As time went on the con men created "religious" rituals and wore silly hats to identify themselves as "conduits to the gods" and without them, the people were in for a bad time. So, when something bad happened, like an earthquake, the priests could say "you are being punished by god, so give us more goodies and we will fix it for you" As people grew up in different areas of the world without knowing of each other's existence the rituals and gods differed. Jump forward thousands of years, and a few of the rituals were solidified into major religions eg Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam, with a few minor ones as well. The "conduits to the gods" have grown rich ( eg the Vatican ), still wear silly hats and still demand goodies in exchange for interceding with the gods. No matter that we emerged from the cave thousands of years ago, as at heart we are still mentally the same- fearful of the unknown, except for some "god" has been replaced by such as money, celebrity, Chicken Little etc. I believe in God/ Nature but I don't believe that God is going to give me the winning Lotto number if I hand over some cash to a priest. We are, IMO on our own till we return to the creator when our biological transport mechanism dies.

I guess we see what we want to see. You go to a gogo ( or do you just look at photos? ) and see lost broken people. I see the same photo and see ordinary people doing a job that they may or may not enjoy. I don't see "broken" people. I went with many and none of them could be described as "broken". Most were very nice people and most were just doing it to earn a bit of money before moving on to another occupation. My first Thai "GF" did it for 6 years and then left to go to college. She ended up marrying a rich guy. Not bad for a poor girl from Buriram. -

Not suspicious at all. I've seen enough of them to have a pretty good idea when I see one. Doesn't bother me if they are- just saying it might be a surprise for the unwary. -
The masseuse gets sod all. IMO most goes to the establishment. I never regretted giving a tip for a decent massage as it does require a lot of work. I just didn't tip too much.

Why assume he will have kids? Not all of us fall for that scam. -

Feel free to not respond, but as you no doubt know, Russia has NOT invaded any western country post WW2. One can pontificate on the faults of dictators as much as wanted, but nuclear weapons and MAD pretty much guarantee that no western country will be invaded by Russia in the foreseeable future. As to whether Russia invades any countries to the east, that's no concern of mine. Countries have been invaded since countries existed yet the human race has survived and overpopulated to the point it's likely to become extinct.

IMO as long as US politicians keep sticking unrelated expenses into spending bills the problem will continue. If they required clean spending bills it might solve the problem. One of the people's dislikes of congress is the amount of pork stuck in spending bills. If one remembers Animal Farm, "pork" is a very relevant description.

The west needs a boogey man to scare the easily influenced to keep them submissive, and justify the military industrial complex. I doubt China was a sufficient threat at that time, so IMO it had to be Russia. It worked quite well, seeing as how many believe that if "we" don't stop Russia in Ukraine they will take us all over and make us slaves.

Thanks. I thought it was 18 every state. Every reference to legal age I've seen says 18. I guess that's why it's a crime to cross state lines to have sex. I know Jerry Lee Lewis married a 13 year old but that was long ago. -

If you don't know what it means I doubt I could explain it to you so you understood without falling foul of forum rules. -
Yes, the wannabe's in Brussels must be laughing as their ( IMO ) propaganda is swallowed hook line and sinker by the ( IMO ) gullible.
