  1. Given the senate will not vote to convict Biden, any attempt to impeach him is just politicking. Turley is just pointing out the obvious.
  2. and even when "awake" seems to be only half so. That guy needs to be retiring for a long rest, not looking to be POTUS for another 4 years, if that is even the plan, and not to just hand it over to harris after the election.
  3. I just had a good chuckle. I was watching an Al Jazeera item about Biden and his warnings against Trump, and the commentator mentioned that Trump had 90 something charges against him, and 4 indictments, but his popularity just keeps increasing! I'd love to be a fly on the wall of the Democrat HQ meeting room to hear what their reaction is to that situation. Seems the plan to litigate Trump into oblivion is having the opposite effect. Trump also visited the Detroit Autoworkers and seemed to be having a lot of support, which must be a worry to the bumbler in chief.
  4. Given the length of time that has elapsed, on some of the complaints it seems more likely that it was consensual in the heat of the moment and regret in the aftermath, than rape. If I were a woman that had it off with Brand while in the heat of the moment I likely would be somewhat disgusted with myself in the morning light ( rather like a man that woke up next to an ugly woman after the beer goggles wore off ). Having all the evidence as to women lusting after celebrity men that one could possibly need, it would take a LOT more proof than a female's assertion that she was raped for me to take her seriously. That if it involved a non celebrity man it's more likely to actually be rape is because women rarely lust after Joe the plumber and throw their knickers at him ( as with Tom Jones ). As for myself, I had an unfortunate affair with a using woman that trashed me and left me emotionally scarred about 40 years ago. Now that she is a successful lawyer, should I look to the courts to get some payback, and a bit of money to boot?
  5. Indeed. Given I and everyone on here is NOT psychic, who can tell what tomorrow will bring, let alone in a year, two years, or longer?
  6. Ah, perhaps I missed that you were only talking about taking the rest of Ukraine. I thought you were talking about rest of Europe. Having been well trashed in the initial attack on Ukraine, does anyone think it even possible that the Russians could take all of Ukraine, even if Putin wanted to? Putin has been in charge for a very long time, but can you share which other countries he has invaded in that time, not including Chechnya, as I think that was from before his time as leader. Likewise, the irrational nature of Putin's initial invasion does not argue for rational behavior going forward. Putin would not be the only leader to have overestimated his military's ability, but perhaps you could point out what was "irrational" about the initial invasion from a purely military basis. Seems quite rational to me that they would try to seize the capital as soon as possible.
  7. Thanks for posting that, but it supports what I said which is that it's not a large scale "aggressive action", but rather a small scale counter attack, as in this bit from the article. NB the word I bolded. Quote "The airborne guards of the 247th Regiment have initiated a counterattack, driving the enemy out of several key positions and seizing the initiative". Unquote BTW, it would have been helpful to have had a date on that.
  8. He was in court today to plead not guilty. Let the games commence.
  9. Is it significant that he didn't try to manhandle or kiss her mother?
  10. Errrr, saying "Dumped yet again, and banished to the wilderness" is a statement, not an opinion. One needs an IMO or suchlike to make it an opinion. I think you will find that all my opinions have an IMO added.
  11. Farewell and God speed. Good luck in your travels. This thread was indeed a great ride while it lasted and was even revived from the dead for a while, but without posters willing to discuss without the bickering and stupid posts it was never going to last. 596 pages has to be a forum record. Like always though, good things end. While I haven't posted on here in a long time, this is making me a bit melancholy, as I did spend many hours on it and I learned a lot. Sayonara, adios, sawatdee and goodbye.
  12. Early 90s tv series. Compulsive viewing.
  13. Yes, I misunderstood. Agree that western governments are treating their citizens disgracefully. Not going to end well, as such gets extreme right wing governments elected.
  14. I very much doubt that, unless they want WW3.
  15. It's been proven that Russia was not prepared for a conventional war against a tenacious enemy, so if he was actually stupid enough to attack a NATO country it would have, IMO, to involve nuclear munitions. Do you think Putin is mad enough to get into a nuclear exchange with the US?
  16. I am well aware of Chamberlain and his "piece of paper", but he was likely speaking from a place of weakness. Britain was hopelessly unprepared for the war, and IMO it wasn't till Churchill took over that they started to prepare seriously. Dunkirk was the example that proves my point. The British were completely outfought by a superior force. BTW, if Britain had the atom bomb back then, do you think Hitler would have invaded Poland?
  17. I have no idea if that's just sabre rattling, but IMO any idea that Russia would actually attack a NATO country is just insane. I'm sure certain individuals in NATO are just waiting for an excuse to get militarily involved, as they were in Iraq, and look how that turned out.
  18. As I have been saying all along. IMO it will eventually come to that after western countries get tired of supporting a never ending war.
  19. Get back to us when the Ukrainians do "breakthrough". Winter is coming.
  20. That would not, IMO, qualify as an "aggressive action". That's just normal defensive actions to prevent a small breakthrough becoming a channel to allow enemy troops to envelop the front line. Aggressive actions are what the Ukrainian "counteroffensive" was supposed to be, but seems to have become stalemate. Only a few villages captured does not represent a "breakthrough" IMO. Winter is coming, and with it the likely end of any Ukrainian offensive actions and allowing the Russians to get even more entrenched.
  21. LOL. I can remember more than a few of your side's opinion that post meaningless insults directed at a certain individual. Pot, kettle, etc.
  22. No prizes for guessing the correct answer. Has Joe EVER joined a strike action in all his decades in the US government in the party of the "worker" 5555555555?
  23. I've been back for a while. I was just resting while waiting for the US election cycle to begin. Seems to have started much sooner this time though. Some of the posts make for entertaining reading.
  24. Agree 100%. They annoy me a lot because every time one of those losers gets caught it makes it more difficult for farangs that don't break the law.
  25. He's very good at "fridge magnet" comments.
