  1. Far as I know, as long as no part of the body was earthed one wouldn't get a shock. As I understand it, the heart is affected when such as a hand touches a live wire and the other hand or the feet are earthed, so the current passes through the heart on the way to earth. I have no intention of seeing if it's true, but I have on occasion had a bit of a tingle when accidentally touching something I should not have.
  2. I love my screwdriver with a light that checks for live wires.
  3. Unless wearing rubber gloves not a 100% solution. Best way is to turn the power off at the mains first. I will always remember my Thai family disagreeing with me on the correct way to wire up an outside light, and they hired a village "electrician" while I was away to do what they wanted. Result was 10 meters of melted cable, melted switch, and a melted light fitting. I laughed like a drain when I returned and saw that.
  4. Sounds like they are doing what capitalists always do. Do we expect them to promote an alternative? BTW, if electricity is produced by burning fossil fuel, where is the benefit?
  5. IMO the lower demographic of population has always been exploited by the rich. See the sheeple lining up to buy the latest ***** brand phone at a vastly inflated price, when the phone they already have will still do the job for years to come. My mobile phone is over 20 years old.
  6. If the batteries last longer than the cars, the cars must be <deleted>. With modern rust proofing methods a car should last decades. I was still driving a 30 year old car when I decided I needed a larger car. I still see same cars of the same age driving around.
  7. Get up in the roof space on a sunny day and if there is a crack it'll probably show up.
  8. Agree 100% on jetskis and wish they were banned.
  9. Sadly the western world is full of puritanical wokesters now. I wouldn't care, except they keep trying to make the world conform to their views, with which I disagree.
  10. Farangs that live in LOS and look for things to hate about it. ditto ditto ditto ditto
  11. You're making it up now. Where did I mention "society"? I said that because a lot of kids hate their parents, or at least dislike them. It's said we take after our parents and mine were rotten, so I'd probably have been as bad as they were.
  12. Not at all. My computer often makes things difficult for me.
  13. Agree. Seems that some are "compassionate" selectively. Eg, I know a guy that is extremely concerned about civilian deaths in Ukraine, but doesn't care at all about what is happening in Burma or other such like conflicts.
  14. Unfortunately there are those on this forum that think because they disagree with others it's an excuse to insult them. Given you know nothing about what other posters are qualified to do, what their life experiences are, and what their reasons are for holding the opinions they do, your comments are just your opinions, as are ours, without some evidence to back them up.
  15. I wonder how he feels about guys that have had sex with many different women? Are guys different if it comes to being "sexually experienced"?
  16. I once watched a western guy harassing a Thai passenger on a train about the Thai railways. The Thai was obviously uncomfortable but too polite to tell the farang to <deleted>. Cringe worthy indeed.
  17. It's hot Girls are still feminine The islands and beaches Pretty girls that would have sex with me Not woke and over regulated
  18. Yes, but we can choose to not follow the programming as we get older and hopefully wiser. A programmed computer can only do what it is programmed to do, and can't become independent. If I had followed my childhood program I'd have smoked, drunk a lot of booze, watched sport on tv, be divorced with kids that hated me, and never ended up in Thailand.
  19. That was a breath of fresh air for an American sitcom. Christina Applegate turned out nice, didn't she? She was great in "the sweetest thing" movie.
  20. I just noticed your insulting post that quoted me ie you are insulting me personally. Take note of forum rules, or did you not bother reading them? you have no idea of the basics of health and safety. Given my experience of working in dangerous occupations and areas that is an ignorant comment, and you are being fatuous. If I actually had no idea of health and safety I would likely have died long ago. Frankly, I don't know how anyone that isn't cognitively impaired in some way ( alcohol or drugs etc ) could fall off a balcony that has something resembling a railing.
  21. To the poster than gave me a confused emoji, if computers have to be programmed, how can they be described as "intelligent"? IMO to be "intelligent" they have to be able to work independently without programming.
  22. LOL. That IMO is a very good reason NOT to date someone like her. I'm not cool at all, by choice, as I find those that consider themselves to be cool as not people I want to know. IMO it's a shallow lifestyle with shallow people. I prefer people with a better outlook on life than partying with those that consider themselves special. I used to go to parties, back when I was young and wanting to fit in with the crowd, but thankfully I wised up, and opted out.
  23. No. If you can't see that there is more to sex than a pretty body, that's your problem. I only met one western woman to be friends with that I'd describe as DDG, but she was the exception.
  24. Agree. Best sex ever, and with the sexiest girl I ever knew was with a very average looking girl. Every time I took a DDG girl out it was a disappointment, so I wised up and avoided them. Good decision.
  25. I think Taylor Swift is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, but even if I had the chance to meet her ( not going to happen though ) I would refuse as the reality would no doubt be a disappointment.
