  1. While I believe that a conflict is going on "over there", I think it is being spun out by sending defensive rather than offensive weapons, which will keep the war going and the profits rolling in for western arms makers. Follow the money.
  2. IMO they need something to protest about. If the world was perfect they'd be protesting that the clouds were too white, and should be multi coloured.
  3. Saudi abolished slavery in 1962. The black ex slaves couldn't be sent elsewhere, so it was not uncommon for me to see black African citizens when I was working there some years later. I don't recall any protests before 1962 by concerned western people. https://www.quora.com/When-was-slavery-abolished-in-Saudi-Arabia Saudi abolished slavery in 1962 due to immense pressure from Britain.
  4. I remember Rainbow 2 well, if you know what I mean. I liked not having them keep trying to hustle me for drinks. If I liked one I made it obvious I wanted them to sit with me. That's not unusual- Hollywood Royale was like that, Playskool and and G Spot also. I sometimes went into Obssessions as they had better music and the dancers were more enthusiastic, but I had to buy one a drink just to stop the incessant drink hustling if I didn't have one with me- those operations need money! I'm not familiar with Toy bar, so I'm guessing it was on an upper level, where less customers go, and the girls are more desperate. There were a few on the upper levels that were popular, but not many.
  5. Soooo, even though they never saw the OP before, he got allowed in as well, and they didn't ask what room he was staying in to be charged for it, or are they in the habit of allowing any one in for a free brekkie if with a guest? BTW, I never got a wai from wait staff at a breakfast buffet. Is that what they do at expensive hotels?
  6. Since when has Tilac had an upper level? IMO confusing it with a different gogo. If anyone wants to invent stories about Soi Cowboy they need to make sure they get the facts right, and not just read some stuff on the internet.
  7. God is all around us, but most can't see what is behind the image they see.
  8. That's where miracles come into play. Would any have followed a carpenter from Galilee without his miracles?
  9. ?? It's all in the genes, which can be likened to the operating system for our body. The genetic code carries all the information needed to make us "work", but what we become after born is acquired through our eyes, ears and body nerve endings.
  10. 6,000 of them? OK, no doubt some won't- US has many females in military and married guys, so lets say 2,000 needed. I guess there will be queues for the ones there are available.
  11. I reckon they got most of their customers on their phones, which was why they didn't care much about bar customers. BGs were probably the earliest users of mobile phones in Bkk once they got small enough. I didn't see any with a brick.
  12. Ah, the mobile phones! I wuz lucky and did most of my gogoing before those, so even though it was the chrome pole shuffle, they did pay attention to the customers. I don't recall them going to the customers if they were real girls though. That was a ladyboy thing. They usually waited till a guy asked them to sit with them. That was long ago, back when they played proper music at a reasonable level in gogos. Eventually I had a regular GF and went to a beach rather than spending time in gogos, so that was only a few years of my life in LOS.
  13. Back before prostitution went legal in home country I was a regular with a DDG masseuse and had a few conversations about it with her. She also said most of her customers were married and just wanted to be with a pretty girl for a while, as home life was not desirable. Back in the 90s I spent some time in Playskool in the Plaza, and there was one extremely attractive dancer that sometimes managed 2 or 3 short times a night that I was there, but she was very unusual. Many went home alone ( back then they would not go with customers that didn't bar fine them ). I know that because I was often there till the bar closed after dawn ( that was in Hollywood Royale, not Playskool - only 2 gogos stayed open all night, and the Hollywood was the best in the Plaza, but later it changed it's name and went pants ).
  14. Ah the Tilac gogo has happy memories for me from before it went glitzy and horrid, back when the farang owner and his mates played cards or something while the bikini clad dancers shuffled above them. One could actually have a conversation and the music was pleasant back then. My first long time BG experience was with a girl from there and my 4 year relationship was with a girl from there. Happy days back then when there really was a Thai smile. However, everything ends and I discovered paradise on Soi 4. Then things got even better.
  15. It's a lot simpler than that IMO. Early humans were fearful of everything, the tigers, the thunder, etc, and created gods to protect them, which became appeasing the gods by sacrifice to prevent nasty gods killing them. Some humans realised that there was food to be had from the sacrifices and invented religion ( by which they claimed to speak to the gods so people would turn to them to intercede with the gods ) to garner the sacrifices to themselves. That eventually became money, as all religions want tithing. Leap forward to today, and religion has become big business.
  16. Genes dictate as always and genes dictate that the strongest get the best women to breed in. Thus the human race will survive, which is one of the top genetic imperatives. Hierarchies, IMO, were created by humans to ensure the top dogs get the women with the best genes. NB Strongest has never implied "goodness".
  17. Those that believe that God has human emotions are IMO not thinking for themselves. Why is cancer in children worse than building nuclear bombs to kill millions? God created a universe with black holes that consume entire solar systems- so why does anyone assume that God is "merciful". BTW Santa is based on a real person that did exist.
  18. I have had food poisoning only twice, once from a famous chain restaurant in NZ and once from a well known branded restaurant in Bkk. I have eaten from some pretty dire kitchens in LOS, but never a poisoning problem.
  19. LOL. Like they need to go to W S! I'm not sure how it works if they don't have rooms ashore as the bars don't normally have any, but it's all happened before, so there must be a way.
  20. Perhaps Rupert hated Trump all along and waited till he knew he hadn't won before sticking the knife in. That wouldn't surprise me about Murdoch. He's not my favourite human being.
  21. IMO everyone is exploited, to some extent. It comes with being human. I was exploited my entire working life, but I carried on because it enabled me to do what I wanted outside work. I know what my perfect life would be, having come close to it, but even then there were bad people affecting that otherwise enjoyable year of my life.
  22. I agree, but human's are fallible creatures. Even after I divorced my wife she could make me feel sorry for her. Had she not become a horrid harpie from hell, I'd have put up with her other faults, as after all, I am far from a perfect human being.
  23. Fair enough, motivation does not necessarily lead to success, but I'm certain that being unmotivated leads to failure. At least motivated people are more able to handle life's kick in the teeth episodes.
  24. Some years ago, in my lifetime, young people that today would be classified as "depressed" would be told to straighten up, fly right and get on with life. Seemed to work for most. Nowadays of course people take them to the Dr and they get doped up with medications- the pill companies are lovin' it.
