How many die now of old age surrounded by loving family? IMO more likely to be in hospital hooked up to machines squeezing the last breath of profitability out of the living dead. The ones that die quickly in a accident are IMO the lucky ones.

It's the wrong technology anyway. Hydrogen eliminates oil and doesn't require a massive infrastructure rebuild- no batterys costing $22,000 either.

The IMO insanity of American juries. Did they actually think he could pay that much? All that has happened is that apparently those that would have got some money will get nothing. -
Lady Susan Hussey quits over remarks to charity boss Ngozi Fulani

Oh dear. I thought I was pointing out that people's minds when old are not the same as when young. I'm sure that 30 years ago she may have been more cautious in her questioning, but we are not talking about 30 years ago. I'd say she absolutely didn't think she was being racist; I don't think she was being racist, many don't think she was being racist. IMO she was taken advantage of to generate a bit of publicity for a "charity". -
A battle lost doesn't mean the war is lost. Only need to look at Britain beginning of WW2, Disastrous retreat to Dunkirk and almost the entire army captured, but rebuilt over next 3 years to defeat the Germans. IMO some posters read far too much into too little. One has to look at which side can last the distance in a long war. If the NATO countries currently sending arms decide the cost is too high, and stop- what then for Ukraine? If the current financial situation deteriorates, will taxpayers continue to accept spending billions to support a war they are not even fighting in?

I'm still waiting for him to acknowledge that he was accusing me of saying things that you actually did! -

There is nothing in the post you quote to say that people that despise the UK are not British. -

Just as well I'm not holding my breath waiting for a correction on the falsehood in that post. -

If you are going to attack me best get your facts correct. I didn't say anything about "regional accents"-that was a different poster. So, you saw black people in Dublin- so what? It doesn't mean I'm lying. I didn't, and I traveled around all of Ireland, not just Dublin and Co Kerry. -

I live in an area where many foreigners come to work., and I've asked some where they come from. I didn't get accused of racism for doing so. In Thailand when on a baht bus I've asked tourists where they were from and non gave me evasive replies, and none took offense. Certainly, I don't take offense when asked where I'm from, but I don't have an agenda, and nor have I accused Charles of being mean to Harry's wife. Bottom line, it's all great publicity for a certain charity. -

She's old and old people make mistakes. I'm old but nowhere near her age and I say things that may not be appropriate, so I'm not going to condemn her for saying something that isn't really a big deal. IMO this is someone with an agenda seeking to cause problems for the Royals, and the woke jumping on a bandwagon. As I've said before, if she were actually racist it would have been picked up long ago. -

IMO there is nothing important in any of this much ado about nothing, except for those that seek to attack the Royals by any means possible. Important is the NHS in strife; an old woman saying something someone didn't like is not important. -

IKEA kitchen assembly DIY or let them do it?
thaibeachlovers replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in DIY Forum
LOL. Last thing I put together actually had more fasteners supplied than needed. Luckily the instructions specified the number needed, so I knew I had surplus. What is really annoying is to take something apart to fix it and THEN find some left over screws when assembled again. -
IKEA kitchen assembly DIY or let them do it?
thaibeachlovers replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in DIY Forum
I'm not bad at DIY and been doing it all my life, but sometimes I get something with instructions that don't make sense, so have to do it by trial and error. BTW, in a previous life when I had a house in NZ I had a professionally made kitchen installed. The kitchen itself had some defects that I didn't pick up till too late ( so check everything before installed ) and the builders that the kitchen maker sent were cowboys. I had to redo everything they had done ( which was when I started doing things myself ). They couldn't even put up a wall that was vertical. I also had to sack the electrician they brought and get my own instead. The <deleted> had the cheek to comeback later and ask if they could take photos. Luckily I wasn't there at the time, but my partner had to tell them that nothing they had done was still there. Another time I had some alterations done, and the builder sent a "plasterer" to finish the wall board gaps, but he only did half the job ( very badly ) and never came back, so I learned to plaster myself.
