  1. I've mentioned it before on this forum, but imagine being able to travel without leaving home? No need to fly to Thailand to see the temples any more- just pop on the virtual reality headset and it's like being there. Perhaps the boffins of the future can also give the happy ending experience without the chance of contracting some nasty.
  2. Fair enough, but after we all go cashless and can't go back what is to stop banks imposing a transaction fee? Even a few cents for each would result in massive profits for the banks. With that much money to be extorted, I fear it's inevitable.
  3. One of my neighbours has no computer, never had a computer, doesn't want a computer and is a happier chap than I for it. He doesn't even go to the library for e mails ( probably doesn't know what an e mail is ). After every problem I experience with my computer experience I tell him how much I envy him. To be honest, if I could go back to 2001 I'd never buy that first computer that gave me access to the great and extremely addictive internet, and consider myself better off for it.
  4. Agreed, but it's always my philosophy when putting anything on here, to consider if I want a spotty geek to read it. If I care enough to not want said spotty geek reading it I don't put it on line. I don't use anything like tok tick, facethingy or such like, so my exposure is limited to things that are of no use to anyone ( or machine ) looking to exploit me, eg for targeted advertising. Do people that use cards to pay for such as clothes, shoes, groceries then get assaulted by internet advertising? I did notice long ago, that after I posted about travel on a certain site, pop up ads on that site then appeared about the country I mentioned. Happily such ads are no longer a problem for me.
  5. Indeed. It's quite often mentioned on news and such that young people are sending "intimate" photos of their body parts to each other and end up being blackmailed. Back in the day when I spent a lot of time on the internet I came across a site that dealt exclusively on revenge porn, on which boys rejected by the ex girlfriend posted intimate photos of the ex girlfriend. Things must have changed a lot since my young days when a request to photograph my girlfriend naked would have resulted in a well deserved slapping.
  6. LOL. I often see a sign in shops stating that there will be a credit card charge.
  7. Alas, the last time I used pharmaceutical boosting it almost killed me, so had to give it up. Pity, as it had worked to give me a sex life after my prostatectomy for a number of years.
  8. Well said, but the indoctrinated sheeple will willingly submit to big banking because "it's more convenient" than cash. I often see old people using cards in supermarket and not shielding the pin number when they use it. Just asking for muggers to steal their cards. Anyway, now that pay wave removes the need to even use a pin just steal the card and go shopping.
  9. I accept that eventually I may be forced, kicking and screaming, to use a spyphone to pay for things, but hopefully I won't be around to see when it all goes wrong. IMO instead of stealing money, the young thugs will be forcing the law abiding to give up their phones and pins or such like. It'll be great for bank profits, but not so much for us.
  10. It'd be luck if assigned to a decent nursing home. Friend of mine works in one as a cleaner. They paid her so little that sometimes she had trouble paying for petrol to go to work. Had to move in with daughter to survive. One of life's unfortunates that got done financially by her ex husband and doesn't have qualifications to get a decent job.
  11. Rubbish. Had I done that I'd be in handcuffs for the remainder of the flight. The flight attendants had no idea as he wasn't behaving badly in a physical way, and it was what he said to me that worried me. BTW, ever actually hit someone in the face? Likely to cause damage to your hand doing that. It's only in movies that such works.
  12. They want to be more than equal. In NZ considering vote for 16 year old, but they can't be conscripted! In the opinion of many- if old enough to vote, old enough to die in a war.
  13. Never had a fat one, but once had a baby in a hanging overhead thing once that if I bumped father got agro ( on a 707 ). Once had to ask for a change of seat as the next to me was a nutter and I feared injury.
  14. Should never do that as might kill someone unfortunate that stepped out at the wrong time.
  15. Looking at that, I'd almost wish for WW3 so that guy at right hand end ( looking a screen ) could be conscripted.
  16. Oh, just looked at it and not the same incident, but same situation of a bunch of entitled young people thinking they know it all and harassing someone they assume to be on the wrong end of the spectrum, because ( old ) white man saying it. I think he was having a hard time not openly mocking the idiots. IMO every time they opened their mouths they displayed how ignorant they were, and these people are supposed to be intelligent. If that is the future, humanity is doomed, IMO.
  17. I think I saw a different VDO about same thing ages ago. Thing I noticed was how unattractive the females were. I think I'd enjoy one having a go at me, as I know what I'd do back.
  18. I used to google thaibeachlovers to see what came up, and there was someone out there that was impersonating me on different websites with stupid posts. On one forum he said I was looking for a present for my girlfriend under 100 baht! He also did hotel reviews under my username. I know who it was as I got him banned off Thorntree for impersonating a mod to fool me. He was also posting on TVF as his own username, but vanished years ago. I'd probably recognise him under a different username as he had a certain style. He certainly came back on Thorntree under new usernames, but I was able to get him kicked off every time as I knew whom it was.
  19. Stop lying! I never mentioned communism in the post you quoted.
  20. Take it up with internationalism. He was the one that made that claim. I was just commenting on it.
  21. AI has the potential to be either the saviour of mankind, or it's destruction. If used for the benefit of all it'll be good, but I fear the rich will use it to get even richer and suppress the unwanted masses. At least one benefit IMO will be the end of movie stars that think they are important. With AI no need for a real actor. Anime movies only need voice actors, which will be eliminated by AI, and Avatar showed that real actors are not needed. Imagine being able to tell your AI computer to make a movie based on an idea you had- done in a jiffy.
  22. My ex wife was my last hope, which was why I held on for so long, but eventually I realised she would not take care of me if I was incapacitated, so that was the end.
  23. Obese people on a plane try to put the arm rest up. Insist on it being down. I always booked an aisle seat for exactly that reason, and I would not have changed it for a fat person.
  24. I'd like to see anyone classify me politically- socialist on rich people and corporations, conservative on immigration and dole bludgers, supported Trump because he was against her, but preferred Bernie as he wanted to do Wall Street, conflicted on abortion- last resort- not contraception, but too many people on the planet so abortion on demand at any stage is OK, don't believe we can do anything about climate change, but want to stop all pollution, want to get away from petrol cars, but only with hydrogen- want nothing to do with battery cars, don't care about renewable energy with windmills or solar, but want nuclear, oppose the death penalty, but want jail for life without parole for third offence, etc. There is more, but you get the picture.
  25. Do people actually put all that stuff on social media? If so I'm boggled. Even if they hacked this site all they'll get is my e mail address. I'm well aware that everything we put on line is available to be read by people we don't know, and post accordingly. I've often referenced a past wife on here, but never her name. If someone wanted to read my thousands of posts on here, they could put together a profile, but it wouldn't do them much good.
