  1. Everything is a good idea till it isn't. It might start there, but it won't end there.
  2. I think you love Big Brother with your support for it. Ever considered moving to China?
  3. and what could possibly go wrong with that? Have you actually looked at the mess of wires above you in the streets, or fiber optic cables that have trees growing around them?
  4. Last time I visited the UK I bought a travel card- think it's called Oyster- at Heathrow. Used on buses and trains/ underground. I paid cash to load the card.
  5. It's happening in China, NOW. Get a grip yourself.
  6. I never keep all my cash on me in one place ( and it stays in my pants after I take them off - no chance of leaving it behind ), and if they steal my wallet, they don't get a card that allows them access to my bank account to drain it before I can get to the bank. Pay wave, a gift to thieves.
  7. As usual, "netizens" commenting on things they know nothing about. Nurses wearing short skirts are schoolboys wet dreams, nothing more.
  8. Load of rubbish about nothing IMO. Every nurse I saw in a Thai hospital wore long pants. Is there anywhere now where nurses wear skirts of any length? Local hospital nurses wear scrubs.
  9. I agree with that, but the people to ask are the clerks at the amphur office. They will know, compared to opinions on here.
  10. You need to ask at the amphur where you will get the divorce. Different offices have different requirements. You may need a translator, or not. The documents are in Thai, so if you want to know what you are signing, get a copy and have it translated.
  11. They were overcharged. I think I paid 20 baht or something like that.
  12. Not if on extension for retirement. That was my situation. Non O based on marriage.
  13. Fair enough, but if they think they can continue to live in LOS once their money runs out I think they are in for disappointment. Can't work, and will the Thai government consider them refugees- IMO not.
  14. Only 12 years? I was in the UK during Gordon's time and IMO he wasn't half as good as he thought he was. Wasting 6 billion quid on the NHS wasn't the actions of an actually competent chancellor.
  15. Sooooo, if the details are released that would be a crime, wouldn't it?
  16. Who said life is easy? It's not. Anyway, Dec doesn't have to take his family, as he can be like millions of other men that support their families from afar.
  17. What are you on about? Did you ignore my previous post that addressed that?
  18. Oh the irony. I guess the greenies will be crying in their lentil soup. Re opening nuclear power plants- it just gets better and better. Wonder what Merkel has to say about that? PS. what happened to all that "renewable energy" certain people are always on about.
  19. They have 2 years lost "tea money" to make up for. What else did you expect? I even commented to expect that on this forum some time ago.
  20. That's the skytrain. I never bothered with the skytrain from Phaya Thai, given how close it was to MBK. I'd just get a taxi to the door at MBK.
  21. Do Buddhists even have something equivalent to a "church service" I know the monks get up early and chant, but while my wife would go to the temple to pray to the Buddha I never saw anything resembling a "service".
  22. Can someone tell me what happens when they can't use cashless eg card or phone gets stolen/ lost/ breaks/ flat battery? Cash never gets a flat battery. It's good to see from the poll that the cashless are losing big time. It's not even close.
  23. I don't care if people want to go cashless, as long as I can use cash.
  24. I prefer to learn from history. The Nazis would have loved that technology. Don't believe the Nazis or similar will happen again? Good luck with that.
