the problem is that the turbo diesel engine is not sold in my home country of Canada.
Haynes and the like will not cut it as they are usually too general. I would prefer the official Mitsu manual if I can find one.
Wonder if the Pajero engine is the same we get in pickups here?
Will look in other export markets.
-
Where can I buy or download an english manual for a Mitsu 2.8 turbo diesel pickup engine.
This time it is going to be done right, rather than a Thai "mechanic"
-
In stand corrected, and Heavens is now making his own frames.
My apologies to Thom
-
hey if I buy a custom frame from the custom Thai manufacturers, can I get a green book without having to pay the import taxes, (since it will be a thai made frame). I can add my own HD engine (and deal with the engine tax issues separately). If I do this can I avoid the really ridiculous taxes the government charges for Harley Davidson? Thanks.
The simple answer is no
The more complicated answer is also no
The answer if you are very well connected and can get a recycled (IE illegal) book is yes at about 100,000 These illegal books are beginning to cause problems and I know of several guys that cannot register due to book problems. Now that there are legal big bike importers expect to see the squeeze being put on these books.
Pay the money if you really want one.

Heavens do not make their own frames but I know who can do it
PM me
Or, go to Pattaya bike week Feb 16 and there will be a couple of frame manufacturers showing their wares

I have a R-1150-RT and a hot rodded Dyna Sport but wanted a little bike for zooming around town and parking where I damm well please. I glorified scooter just wont do, so the CBR it is. It looks like fun and time will tell, but I am concerned that it will be too gutless hence the new parts on order.
Penis envy red of course

Let the modifications begin.
Starting with a nice set of apehangers no doubt, enjoy!
Was thinking of a pipe, 28mm carb, coil-plug wire combo, CDI, and K&N air filter
Now that you mention it, a nice set of apes may be the dogs <deleted>.
-
After hearing all the fun raving about CBR-150's, Hogfather has just bought the smallest bike of his life and it should be here this week.
Let the modifications begin.
-
DOHC lessons and blown Mazdas aside, is there a ROW or domestic larger top end that I can swap out, given a fair bit of mechanical experience in doing such things
-
Will a Honda 250 top end fit on a CBR 150 case? Just looking at it would suggest so but I would like to know a bit more before bring in the bits.
If so what is the preferred model, what else is required besides carb, pipe, ignition etc.
Anyone done this?

The Minister of Energy did an about face on his earlier statement that "petrol would be available as long as there were vehicles incapable of running on Gasohol. The latest statement a couple of weeks ago, was that both petrol 95 and 91 would be replaced by gasohol.
Do not expect any different policy from the new Minister as their buddies own the ethanol plants and have surplus capacity as it is with new plants coming on line.
For example <deleted> is there E-20 for sale when E-20 cars are just now being introduced
In any case I do not know enough about ethanol and 2 strokes hence my question. Injection concurrently with the fuel makes sense for compatility and I would like to know more.
-
Is there a sportier version than the R, or am I just utterly confused
-
maybe thats why I have trouble understanding the dealer.
Can anyone confirm?
-
What is the difference between a CBR 150 and the 150 R?
My dinky little dealer does not have the R model so I cannot see for myself.
How firm are the dealer prices and what is the best price I would expect to pay for both regular and R model
-
I was thinking of a small 2 stroke sport bike until the light came on about ethanol and oil.
Once you can longer buy petrol, E-10 gasohol should kill all 2 strokes

Did a bit of Cheers test drinking on Sunday, and it is not too bad after all.
And anyone looking for stocks of Cheers' Beer can PM Rob as well - he has cornered the market on the stuff. It is good for cleaning bikes, cars and the slime from pool surrounds. For the truly desperate apparently you can drink it also.

We are having a wrap up BBQ for the Toy Ride at my house this Sunday.
All volunteers are welcome as well as those that would like to volunteer for next years event.
PM me so that I can arrange sufficent food and beverage. Dinner will be around 5:30 for those poor sods that need to go to work, so come in the afternoon. Kids are welcome and I have a pool to keep them amused.

I want to buy a front 1/2 cut of a Subaru STI or WRX and all I get in Chiangmai is mai mee. I am willing to special order from Japan and wait but apparently it is too much work to bother with and no one wants my business
I understand that there is an area in BKK that is an auto wrecker market.
Where is it located and any suggestions on who can get this for me.

Looking for a hotel recommendation in Hanoi, Na Trang, and Halong Bay. Something 3-4 star rating would be nice

It seems that there are some good pics taken at this event, and it would be nice if we, the organisers, could get some high res copies for the event website and promotion for next years event
Please PM me if you are willing to give us your pics, or drop a CD off at one of our event Sponsors
On a personal note, I would love one of my bike with Spiderman as I was so busy worrying about the event that I forgot to charge my camera battery!

Thanks to our Sponsors and all the riders who came out yesterday to help these disadvantaged kids.
Last but not least, thanks to the other members of the committee and volunteers without whom it would not have been possible.
I am still tallying up the amount of money raised, but there is no doubt that we can support the 600 kids we comitted to this year. To insure transparency, we will be posting our accounts on our website www.chiangmaitoyride as soon as I get it done.
On Childrens Day, our charity Give & Live, will be giving toys to kids at Vienping Orphanage in Mae Rim starting at 3 pm. Come out on your bike and see the look on these kids faces when they get something on this special day. All riders are invited to attend
We learned a lot this year and next year will be better.

All bikes are welcome from Aprillias to Zundapps. We have committed to supporting 600 children this year, so bring a toy, ride your bike, and help make Childrens Day special for these kids.
We also need voulenteers to help with the event so PM myself or drop by Tuskers or Richco Motorsports.

So is this an additional event besides the big outdoor party on the 16th?
