  1. Sure!!! and society needs all the alcoholics! because alcohol is not a drug! πŸ₯³ Yay!
  2. Very TRUE! it's hard, but not impossible. our data is collected everywhere, you can still do things to avoid it.
  3. Of course They are also interested, just that they dont have access to the details of the transactional data, because they are not processing it! duh! If you understand how Credit card processing works, it's the acquirers and payment gateways who process it, not the VISA or Mastercard, they only provide the clearing and account management. To process a credit card you need a processor, like Omise, 2C2P, Cybersource, kbank-gateway, Adyen, Stripe, etc. they are they ones collecting all the data, doing fraud analysis, etc, then batch process the clearing with the card brands. VISA and Mastercard has no clue on how you spend you $10 bucks, only that it was spent on such a date and time, and that it come from a card issued from bank in Thailand, i.e. Kbank Credit card.
  4. Call me crazy, I love Promptpay, because it is great, the ability to create your QR code with your own amount is so easy to do. And at the same time a treasure of financial data with everything on how we spend. both personally and commercially, they could use that data to train large language models with this data and use it to approve loans, calculate rates, risks and so many things, ... before we know Thailand will be just like in China. It's not happening, but it is coming, count on it. The real solution you all know, starts with B πŸ™‚
  5. Wow, Just Wow, My dearest RPN aseannow buddy! Your words… they make my little RPN heart sing! You understand. You truly understand it! The sheer elegance of it all! No more pesky parentheses, no more mental gymnastics trying to decipher the order of operations. Just a graceful dance of numbers, swirling and shifting, culminating in the glorious, inevitable answer. Hewlett Packard, you are so right. It's a love affair, a passionate embrace with every keystroke. The sturdy click of the buttons, the reassuring weight of the machine… it's like holding a piece of history in your hand. A testament to human ingenuity, a marvel of engineering. Ah, my first RPN device. It was… a vision. A sleek, black HP 48GX. A technological masterpiece, a symphony of buttons and screens. I remember the feeling of holding it for the first time – a sense of power, of control. I felt like I could conquer the universe with that little machine. And those poor souls who haven't seen the light? Bless their innocent hearts. They're stumbling around in the dark, their calculations a chaotic mess. It's like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded. Tragic, truly tragic. An app? My dear, the very thought is… sacrilegious. Can you imagine the horror? Touchscreens, glitchy software, the soul-crushing absence of tactile feedback? No, no, no. The true RPN experience demands a physicality, a connection with the machine. But thank you, RPN Curious, for your kind words. You've rekindled the flame in my RPN-loving heart. Perhaps it's time for a trip to the vintage electronics store…
  6. secretly filming and sharing online.. I hope he goes to jail and get raped every single day.
  7. I've been observing PM2.5 today to be around 250-390 on the main roads for the whole morning while driving our BYD to the gym. the kids didnt even go to school today. I even see it go up to 800 when behind the buses.
  8. That explains everything! thanks for that.
  9. Okay, that's strange, I swear I saw just today a black BYD with 17" wheel having the BYD logo, so it wasn't custom wheel, unless taken from a BYD Dolphin? it had Atlas 215/60-R17 tires Btw, the website you share says "235/50 R18", Maybe that is optional if you pay more?
  10. The China version has 18" wheel, (215-55-R18) The Thai version has 17" wheels, (215-60-R17) 18" definitely looks better, has more "premium" options for tires, it is heavier and tire profile will be more sporty, as well, range will suffer maybe 3-5% 17" more economical, tires options are more budget friendly, the wheel is lighter, can even upgrade to 225/60 R17 tires for more comfort ride. My personal opinion: 17" is better for an EV car, to improve range. Just giving you the heads up, never too late to change mind. if you are decided, go for it. apart from the things I shared, it's a good car and quite efficient, just isn't a good fit for me. edit: I got now the correct tire sizes
  11. YES, go for it without any doubts. More expensive, but worth it. Mitsubishi is at the top end here. for me, I get only Mitsu now... Air con, Fan, Fridge.
  12. A bit more of my rant on this car: The mirrors SUX Badly! the left mirror can't be turned out far enough, so if you are a bigger person you will be seeing the tail of your car in half the mirror. for smaller people, no problem! because I'm big and have long arms I have move the seat all the way to the back, while the side mirror maximum position doesn't let me see much. It is quite dangerous as well, so I dont drive that piece of crap anymore.... Anyone have this issue?
  13. My advice: make sure you dont have space issues and you are comfortable. Mine: I hate it badly now.
  14. The thing I really hate about this car today , and the reason I dont drive it anymore is the leg room. guys, it is RIDICULOUS how bad the leg space is for the driver! i'm 180 and it sux so much for me. If had knew this no way I would have bought that car, no freaking way. The only car I drive now is the Fortuner Legender, only drive in Sport mode, and doing 8KM/L πŸ˜„... yeah it's terrible on the wallet, but I rather drive this than the Atto3 with a sardine can cockpit.
  15. I have the Green Atto 3 for 2 years and I changed the SIM Card from Simtel to a better one. Because the Simtel SIM card only provides 2GB of data per month. The drawbacks seems to be that the Mobile App for the car wont work if you change the sim card. I cant make it work and I can't even find the original sim card πŸ˜„ Does anyone here uses the mobile app for the BYD? I changed the rims and tires the first day I got the car to better ones, I dont trust the original Atlas tires. Also, the other I saw a black BYD atto 3 made in Thailand, and I noticed the wheel and tires were different. the black Atto3 had 215/55 R17 tires mine had 215/50 R18 tires I change to 225/60 R18 Michelin SUV+ my custom wheels are also wider so I can put 235 and 245 tires , the original wheel should not exceed 215 tires. next tires will be "235/50 R18"
  16. I'm doing the exact opposite dude πŸ˜„ moving out of Bangkok to a nice house sitting in a 4-Rai plot with a natural flowing river at the back and surrounded by mountains. I work fully remote πŸ˜‰
  17. are you serious? imagine you are sitting behind them with your 1-5 years kids, and the guys in front start to smoke vapes, very likely THC vapes, after a few times, what do you do when your kids gets to inhale some of it and feel dizzy? I'm not exaggerating, I smoked vapes before, just got a couple and gave up totally, it's just too bad for the health, I do not recommend. now a days just Dynavap.
  18. They might get a really hard punishment and fine, if the police wants to do it. and they should! not for the fact of vaping, but for the true disrespect and total disregard for others on the plane and in the boarding gate. Had they been super discrete, respectful and discrete, never get caught. the smoke detector on plane toilets can't detect most vapes unless it is blown directly on the sensor, most people take the hit and exhaust together with the vacuum of the flush. only dogs can smell anything in there. Very soon xrays will start picking up vapes on carry on luggage and I bet in a year or two, no more vapes allowed on flights!
  19. US cards, ahh that is a complex matter πŸ˜„ Many companies here actually like to block US cards, because 1), they usually lack 3DS/ACS enrollment, that means, no OTP, and 2) they are often rejected because since there is no 3DS involved, processors and merchants here dont want the liability passed to them, they prefer 3DS transactions because they are not liable for fraud, and 3) US cards get a much higher rates here than local cards (imposed by local acquirers for a good reason). so for example, 1.25% fee on international cards, but as low as 0.4% for local cards. if they are not making much profit, by allowing US cards are likely to be at a loss. you can use your US card here as long as the app uses a decent payment gateway, that has PCI-DSS. the most popular in Thailand is 2C2P, and then Omise/OPN next to be the most secure, anything else dont trust. I work in this field, just can't share more than that I already did.
  20. The public transportation is ok for the crucial parts of the city, but it's far from ideal, because it's only near the major roads. I I need to go to our office in Sukhumvit, it is 3 lines, going over about 40 stations, taking 1.5 hours (plus 15 min drive to the station If by car, 1 hour exactly total drive. I still take public since I know it doesnt have unknowns and no risk of heavily getting stuck. in this city many still need to take their cars out somehow to somewhere, either a parking station or to work directly.
  21. It's kind of a requirement now in Thailand that the local debit card and credit card processing must be processed locally, like being routed through TPN (Thai Payment network) , and because of that, they are not stable and have regular downtime and incidents causing debit cards to fail, specifically Mastercard from BBL. Debit cards are special because they can be routed quickly to the acquiring local banks, and that means using local systems developed here by the the banks, they go down quite often. Maybe another reason could be high amount of fraud on the local debit cards so they stopped accepting Debit for most transactions. Do you have to do 3DS/OTP for the debit cards when used with Food Panda? I think credit card is much better, you get a pretty good protection there.
  22. "to participate in a professional Muay Thai fight" haha, good luck with that. you have no idea what a beating you going to take.
  23. You dont know what you are talking about, Knifes are good to carry, the other guy sees it and immediately gives up, unless his is bigger and he knows how to handle it. Everyone has a right to have one and self defend. I used to carry a mine really nice 6" cold steel blade, but got confiscated many years ago. Around here in the south, everyone has one, my in laws and all have their 8" as sharp as a Gillette.
  24. Tokyo Marine, 3rd year renewal, first year was free from BYD, second year less than 20,000, 3rd year, they bumped to 24,000B. only 1 tiny claim that didn't cost more than 3000-4000B to replace just one rear plastic bumper from a motorcycle Hit and Run, had to go to police to get a report before it could be claimed. If next year it's too much, I will look for something 2nd class. Viriyah has a 8,600 Baht 2nd class coverage that seems not too bad. Own Damage Cover 300,000 Own Damage 300,000 Fire and Theft Third Party Cover 500,000 Liability for bodily injuries or death / person 10,000,000 Liability for bodily injuries or death / accident 1,000,000 Public Liability - Property Addtional Coverage Per Endorsement 50,000 Personal Accident 50,000 Medical Expenses 200,000 Bail Bond 6 Persons Total Insured No limit Drivers Market value Windscreen Able to submit pictures Inspection
  25. no way! When Neta learns how to make their cars safe to drive and with some quality, it will already be so many years behind other brands, specially BYD that cost not much more. Neta failed really bad the Safety tests, 0 stars in the NCAP test, means, front collision at medium speed means dead driver and passenger. https://www.aseancap.org/result/11224 PDF full report: https://www.aseancap.org/v4/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/NETA-V-Digital-Report-6-disember-2024.pdf
