  1. Lazada is the only one with mostly English options. But I often use it on Google Chrome to get a full translation. Only the comments now have translation which is really good. Then the app could see a lot of improvements. I just wish Lazada would get rid of all the fakes and low quality things. I know... I've already ranted about this so much, but... Try to search for brands, like "makita" the first 10 pages are all fake. same for shoes, clothe, computer, phones, etc. If you don't have knowledge and know to spot fake vs real, It is incredibly easy to buy a fake, tell you haven't gotten a fake in Lazada once? I've got, and I have always been super geeky. except with shoes... I got a fake nike, returned was easy, Lazada accepted my return as counterfeit. Shop continues to sell.
  2. Yep! If this goes on, the RTP is going to be super pissed. massive revenue vanished overnight. They already lost revenue from weed, now this, soon the casinos? 🤣 🤣 🤣
  3. Absolutely True. It's so bad how most cars tires have poor tires.... I like to pay a lot of attention to details in cars, after all I'm car enthusiast, one thing I always do as a habit is check the tires when I pass by one, just a habit. even in my closed Villa when I take kids out, I would say most of the cars have at least one these symptoms: - Overly used tires, never rotated, and some tires already can see the threads (my neighbor Isuzu have the threads already out!) - Under-inflated, some by a lot and they driving it everyday. - Over inflated, you can tell how the center is so much eaten up, and the corners are not. these are very dangerous and easy to blow up. - Too old and already having cracks everywhere. - I once spotted screws deep inside the tire for a neighbor, guided her to not remove and go asap fix it. it's still there today 😄 I once rented a car in Chiang Mai, via those big names in the airport, I got a Toyota corolla with tires at least 8 years old, it was so dry and super slippery. They said it still had a lot of thread left 🤦‍♀️ which was true. Tires would even spin on that 1.5L weak engine, so terrible experience. Then the next time I book a Mitsubishi expander, they gave me a replacement Toyota Fortuner, the car was great, but the tires were really bad, not as bad as the previous time, but enough to make me nervous. I like the PSI a bit on the high end, normally I set 36-38PSI (that is 2-4PSI higher) I get better fuel economy and the steering wheel gets a bit lighter, while still being safe. I change my tires every 4-5 years, regardless of thread level. I go only for Michelin ( I've had Primacy 4, Primacy SUV+, Pilot Sport 4 and 5) also had a really good results with the Continental MC6, used one for almost 5 years, then replaced with Primacy 4, on the HRV. TIP to everyone: Stay away from the new continental EV, and Michelin EV tires for EV cars. They are terrible, they sacrifice wet and dry performance for lower rolling resistance, that in reality only saves a few percent of range. They are not worth it, and they are bloody expensive!
  4. Damn. This is so tragic! I can’t imagine the despair of the parents waiting to know if their little child is one that escaped or died on the fires. This is super sad. i’ve already cancelled all field trips for daughters. No more. Do you trust the life of your cold in hands of a Thai bus drivers and often untrained teachers?
  5. The BYD dolphin does have safety features that was supposed to prevent this accident. They are: Automatic Brake Assist (AEB) Lane Departure Warning System (LDW) Lane Keeping Assist System (LKS) Intelligent speed control system (ICC) Front Collision Warning System (FCW) Rear Collision Warning System (RCW) I do know that some of them can be disabled, and some can't. Would need to check with the dolphins owners 🙂 Edit: I think I'm wrong, it needs to have some Emergency Brake assist, not the Warning System. The Toyota fortuner does has emergency brake assist, it saved me one time from rear ending someone. Just once in 5 years! there is always a first The BYD Safety should be this one: - ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System): This system encompasses several safety features, including Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). These systems monitor the traffic ahead and will give the driver a warning if a front collision is likely. If the driver does not respond in time, the car can automatically apply the brakes to prevent or mitigate the impact of the collision.
  6. Good riddance. VERY good riddance and well done. I just hope she doesnt go to jail for doing the right thing. Some old people think they are gods just because they are old, that younger people need to submit to their BS.
  7. still a very cowardly action by driver. very typical in Thai men. she didn't do the right thing, sure, did she deserve to be humiliated like that?
  8. I've had a front tire blow out on my Toyota Fortuner on the highway at 120kmh. (265/50 R20) Even thou the steering was quite heavy on the direction of the blown tire, it was totally doable and not that hard to control. Any person could do it, unless you have absolutely no muscles in the arms, or if the person had the hands occupied. I dont understand why there are so many accidents from tire blown out.
  9. I would say it's very easy to speed up with these new EV with tons of power and cause wreckage. The one in question is the Deepal S07 with 258HP. I have test driven one, and it's really fast. I didnt get it because of lack of real buttons and tight leg space, went for something else. And then we have almost everyone now a days, texting and using the phone while driving "fast".
  10. Guys, this is a huge problem worldwide, and now in Thailand it's starting to pick it up. How it start most of the times: the abusers start in social media, looking for teens and kids, then make friends and ask a photo or something that makes them shame, such as giving a top-less photo shot. Then, the criminal suddenly change attitude and ask for more, threatening to release that first photo to the school, parents and friends, making the child fear for being shamed. This go on for months or years, they are made do things in the camera and online, even meeting up. In the UK this happened a lot and still happening, also it started in Australia. Those kids and teens are being traumatized for life, they cannot even talk about it before totally breaking down. And do you know where the photos end up? in websites where people pay crypto to get those child abuse content. Worse of all, those websites are incredibly hard to take down. https://www.interpol.int/en/News-and-Events/News/2023/Operation-Narsil-disrupts-network-of-child-abuse-websites-designed-to-generate-profits-from-advertising The FBI and the Interpol are taking down sites all the time, but it's really hard and take a while. I read all about it this book with a lot of details: "Rinsed by Geoff White" https://www.ft.com/content/35867bba-65b5-407d-967e-716ef5cfb633 If you want to know how all this works, this book is incredibly good with mind blowing details. What do parents and schools need to do urgently: 1. Educate and teach children of the dangers in the internet, showing clearly how it's done and how they can prevent 2. Parents need to closely monitor teens mobile phone and social accounts. (parents can even use iPhone in child mode, so that the phone itself has safe guards enabled to prevent child abuse, Apple has child pornography detection. 3. Teens should have all the social profiles locked down to be private and all privacy settings should be enabled. Most parents dont do this.
  11. Just something I wanted to share, and hear your opinions on this. Does anyone think there is really a lot of control coming from countries and governments? Think about, this CRS system is so new and so powerful where all governments can track and assert control, such as denying a marriage visa based on the fact he missed declaring source he had abroad from other means. The end of cash and move to digital wallets is the beginning of the end of privacy. What can be the solution? I read about what Tornado cash did, allowing fully anonymous transactions on Ethereum. This is huge because any blockchain that is private is banned almost everywhere, like Dash, Firo, But Ethereum? I cannot be banned right? In summary, crypto really is the only way the government cannot track and control. and I think the current price of BTC is very much related to the new worldwide agreement for CRS. Could it be real and happening already? What do you all think?
  12. It actually can happen and work well since Thailand has joined and have access to Common Reporting Standard (CRS) system. They just need to be able to use it! How the CRS Works in lame terms: 1. All financial institutions from participating countries have to identify and report all "reportable" account holders. 2. The selection and identification of reportable accounts are based on: residency address, amount in the account, and type of account. - Individual accounts: no exemption, everyone is reported. - Corporate accounts: those with more than 250,000 USD. 3. If TRD need to audit specific people, it can request via CRS if there are accounts abroad, the banks will have to share the information TRD will need to be able to use this system effectively. and as well it will depend on the banks on how "diligent" they are to report their foreign accounts. Sources: - https://www.asco.or.th/uploads/upfiles/files/ASCO article_CRS_ed(1).pdf - https://www.rd.go.th/fileadmin/user_upload/FATCA_File/crs/Thailand_CRS_Guidance_280823.pdf Just my thinking, I could be wrong; I still do believe they left a loophole: Entity accounts with more than 250.000 USD. What if people start signing up for entity accounts and registering a dummy business just to cover the requirements. Then that account can be used to avoid being report via CRS. Also I think there are many other ways people will find loopholes. I Think in the crypto space is where this can't be tracked, and of course, people will look for banks that don't participate in CRS. Another option Im sure people will try to use different residency address. However if TRD request information, they will get it. What I dont know is how effectively the TRD can leverage the use of CRS, just a matter of when!
  13. Take that 800,000 Baht out, buy 0.4 in Bitcoin. 5 years from now you can retire in the Maldives Island. If you're still alive.
  14. What a moronic and idiotic comment. you got a brain smaller than my crock.
  15. Could have just shot the cat. Not the right thing to do, but better outcome than killing them. I have faced the same issue, and sometimes It feels like need going with the fists, because some people just have too much pride to accept they are at fault and can't be responsible for their own animals.
  16. 30 years I would believe more easily. Thailand flodings are not because of sea level rises, it's deforestation, bad city planning and mostly because of the sinking of Bangkok. Sinking of Bangkok is really an interesting thing to read about, there is an amazing research about it and how it started. The excessive Groundwater retrieval from under the 150m-300m deep under Bangkok for the past 100 years is the major cause of Bangkok soft soil and becoming a sinking city. Thailand didn't invest in clean water filtration plants back then. Now Bangkok is paying the price. This is the reason Thai government finally enforced the stop of Groundwater extraction in 2002 I believe. But too late, as always. some sources: https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/special-reports/640784/city-goes-down-the-sink https://www.researchgate.net/publication/267216772_Geotecnical_Engineering_Problems_and_tentative_solutions_in_Thailand https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Bangkok-soft-soil-zoning-map_fig2_359812965 https://www.researchgate.net/publication/223622817_Land_subsidence_in_Bangkok_Thailand
  17. Not really, if it's a budget car, maybe a Mirage or Nissan March, they just need to his the pole between 110-130 km/h to be split in half. And the pole must be concrete. these are speeds we see everyday on 60km/h roads
  18. 100% agree, I do NOT recommend those places, you have no protection, and you are likely to get scammed. I work in the credit card industry, can't say much more, but I can tell you one thing: Most sellers and merchants that have bad intentions, will avoid taking credit cards. Credit cards have a lot of regulations and pretty good protection. Didn't get what you wanted or got scammed, no problem... you can get the money back with some effort depending on how good is the bank from your card. That is why I recommend people to use credit card, and most of the time Thai people are so scared to use credit card online, not knowing that is actually much safer than doing a Promptpay transaction or Internet banking transfer.
  19. Micro-dosing has probably been spoken in here. I switched from smoking 7g/week to less than 2g/week. I can say that much smaller doses is really the best way to consume... It still help me to get rid of the pains, I can function very well, and I still manage to train hard with micro-dosing. However I do micro-dosing with vaporizers only, I use Dynavap. With using less, it cost less, and I can spend on high quality weed. I found a shop that sells really amazing flowers for like 500B per 10g. that last me 1 month.
  20. Ugh, this is so pointless. The government is just wasting time on these fluff pieces that just make them look busy. Prices are bound to go up with this, and I doubt it'll fix anything. The bigger problem is the rampant fakes flooding Lazada and Shopee. It's crazy! Search for a Makita drill, 90% are knock-offs! Collagen Type 2? Forget about it! All fakes. And the highest voltage drill you find? now we are talking 259V! 🤣 Finding genuine stuff is a nightmare because Lazada keeps pushing these fakes every time in the results. At least refunds are easy. Got my money back for everything fake I got on Lazada, including some fake Nike shoes. Refund approved instantly by Lazada under "Counterfeit", returned in 3 days, yet the seller's still selling those fakes! Anyone else feel like this needs a real solution, not a band-aid?
  21. just to check fact. we all know that 0.2% THC doesnt exist right? 🤣
  22. I made a really good amount in BYD stock, glad it was not TESLA 😄 would have lost half. It's true, the USA is really bad at mass-manufacturing products that can be competitive with China even after shipping. But this is old news... this is the past and both countries are not not so worried about that. What they are both worried and competing very heavily and discreetly is the AI and Chip WAR. 1. In AI software development and applications, both US and China are the biggest players by far without any serious competition, the likes of Google, MSFT, BABA, JD.com, Baidu, and others are the examples. 2. Chip manufacturing: there is a lot happening, It's really tight for China now, that they are making new orders for outdated Chip designs (ARM) because the quota to purchase newest high end chips from TSMC from Qualmcom design is very limited and blocked by the BIDEN administration. 3. Biden is dumping a load of money on the CHIP Acts, to bring manufacturing to the US. This wont happen anytime soon. Chip manufacturing is staying in Taiwan for a very long time 😄
  23. Actually this is very interesting, because many people don't know that BYD has been making extremely efficient and resonably reliable Gasoline engines, more efficient than Toyota and Nissan. This new BYD engine has a brake thermal efficiency (BTE) of 43%; the world’s most thermally efficient gasoline engine in production. To achieve this large range you need very good efficiency, and BYD is really good at it, only behind Tesla and German cars.
  24. Best of luck and I have full sympathy, since I also have girls in school. It's really tempting to try to justice with our own hands, seeing our own child getting abused to be traumatized for life is very hard to deal with. I hear this happens a lot in Thailand and most schools will try everything to hide it. PLEASE do everything you can to make those responsible pay for this.
  25. I think the Korean deserved more than what he got. he lucky to have lost only 1 of his teeth.
