Chiang Mai now world’s third most polluted city
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Another clickbait Headline by the Thaiger. There are many types of pollution, Chiang Mai has an air quality issue part of the year, and it might be the third worst in the world But that's for air, and for part of the year, there are many other places in the world that are more poluted from other sources and year round. -
Absolutely right!! Not sure why the doctor would tell you to stop taking the medication? It makes no sense. If the medication was working and you had concerns about the dosage, he should have told you to cut it in half, and have another test a month later, If your cholesterol went up after a month then go back to full dosage, if it remained the same. then the next step if you so desired would be to further reduce the dosage or frequency and see how that worked out after a month. That's what my heart doctor did with my PVC medication,(No not plastic LOL) we reduced to half and since I had no PVC episodes we reduced it to every other day, next month if I still have no PVC episodes I will stop taking it. If the episones return after I stop taking it , I will go to every other day again.

Swiss national opts for jail after assaulting Thai woman in mall
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These Thai people, what are we going to do with them? Why can they be philoxenos and tolerant like we are towards foreigners in our countries. Notice how I managed to work the word "Philoxenos" in there? Dude I have been dying to use that word ever since I got to the Ps on the dictionary but the opportunity neve presented itself. Apologies but when will I ever get the chance again?- 173 replies

PM Srettha to Address Wildfire Crisis Upon Return from Europe
sirineou replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You would have to arrest half the country country. Burning is part of the Thai culture in the countryside. The people that do it are not some sort of deranged pyromaniacs, they are doing what they have to under the circumstances. These were techniques that worked when the population was smaller, and climate change had not reared it's ugly head. The only way that the problem is resolved is that the "circumstances" are changed. Things got to change. The old way of doing business is no longer viable. An this is not some Ivory Tower opinion, two days ago we were almost burned out , we got the call from a neighbored to run to our farm because we wood were on fire and ti was heading for our farm, we got there as the flames were on our fence abs starting in the corner of our storage shed which was cluse to the fence, tried to get the well going but the wire to the pump had melted , quickly i found the burn cut the cable and spliced the wire. I was able to put the fire mostly out around our property by the time the fire truck arrived, and the worked on the woods. Now I have to go to the farm and replace sections of PVC pipe that melted. Lessons learned. Controlled burns around your perimeter to remove fuel. burry pipes, burry cable to the well, -
First-time traveler to Thailand has many questions
sirineou replied to franzen101's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I remember the first time I came to Thailand. I asked the same question, and by the time I got here I was paranoid. People seem to report the negatives , and like any other place there are some and you should be aware of them but put it all on proper perspective. Millions of people came here every year without having any problem. Come , have fun, enjoy!! Of course you are going to come to Bangkok and see the Royal Palace, Wat Arun, take a boat river and see some other temples. I like Chatuchak Market , one of the biggest flea market in the world. Maybe a day trip with a tour company to the bridge on the river kwai. do the old train ride, maybe an elephant preserve, or a bamboo raft ride down a river, Agoda is a good place to get a good price in a hotel. Go to PiPi island for a day, Kho Samui is nice. Have a good trip. -
We came close to it at our farm, Don't know how it started, but I can guess. But we almost got burned out. Got to the farm just in time as it was on our fence, Our storage sead was gust starting to get a bit of fire on it. Again we have a day where you can hardly see a couple of miles away from the smog.

I am not from Jomtien so I dont know of any but If they have them in Khon Kaen where I am I am sure that there must be some in your area, But if you wanted to get started on the basics, why not an online beginners course? But I did a google search and found several https://www.google.com/search?q=thai+clases+in+Jomtien&oq=thai+clases+in+Jomtien&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIJCAEQIRgKGKABMgkIAhAhGAoYoAEyCQgDECEYChigAdIBCDU1NjRqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#rlimm=11922439377144589514

Isn't funny how Thai politicians overthrown by the military become convicted criminals. If one did not know better one might think that the justice system in Thailand is corrupt. Of course I am not one of them, Personally I am thankful to the military for getting rid of these criminals for us.
