  1. If only there was a tradition in Thailand for a higher degree of responsibility, then perhaps someone at the resort would have ensured that they would have been told it was a bad idea to go swimming under those conditions... People from Switzerland are not exactly the most ocean saavy in the world given their geographic position, so its feasible to imagine that they had no idea what they were up against.

Im just asking, where were the lifeguards ?

did n't know chaweng beach had lifeguards, always thought thais were n't good swimmers anyway,so they would n't be much help

  2. seroiusly, finding a good massage lady can be hit and miss, but you should be able to find a good one for 300 baht. You dont have to go high end(1000 baht upwards) to get a proper massage. If the poster would like to PM me i can recommend a very good massage place in fisherman village where i go if i have back problem.

  3. how about everything in moderation,a little bit of what you fancy, small meal portions, gentle, regular exercise like swimming and walking, doing all the things you in enjoy.

to me the topic poster's regime sounds stressful(continually thinking about things to keep him well)and stress is a worse killer than many perceived unhealthy habits.

  4. statistics and figures are a politicians dream as they can be twisted and distorted to assert anyones argument.

60 deaths a month from accidents could be possible, its 2 deaths a day and would not be exessive for the whole island, but i would have thought it coud n't just mean 60 accidents a month surely.I would have thought 5 accidents a day too low a tally.

Samui is a crazy place to ride a bike, you have to be so on your guard looking out for crazy riders, taxis, people movers and heavy trucks, but its probably no more crazy than phuket or pattaya.

And yet to get around the place quickly its a great way to travel.Yes a car is much safer yet so so slow.

  5. When you're in someone else's country, it's best to keep a low profile and not argue with the locals. It's their country and as this incident shows, you really don't know who you're <deleted> with,

And they resent many of us, as we not only have some cash, but we also have the most beautiful women, who want little to do with them.

Are you kidding? Most foreign men take the women that Thai men don't want. Often dark-skinned with kids and over 30!

are you kidding/we love 'em dark skinned.are you saying the kids are over 30?tongue.png

does that mean maenamians only go out collectively one night a weeksmile.png
