It was tourists being blamed for all the garbage a few months ago. If the infrastructure can't cope with the tourist numbers then cut back on the numbers. Forget about counting the baht and think about the environment. If it isn't sustainable there won't be a single satang to count.

charge a fee on every tourist coming to samui on the ferry or arriving by plane at the airport. efficiently collect the fee and then use it to form a committee on how to solve the problem. pay expensive consultants to look into the problem and then hope the problem goes away on its own. only took 10 years to get me thinking like a thai. you will all think i am crazy but i actually understand them and how their systems work now. its so beautiful, now i need to study up on becoming a consultant that specializes in waste disposal incinerators.

wonder of the guy he got in a fight with was his girls new man. bar girls are amazing at manipulating their customers. you never know what a thai is thinking behind their smile. i know a couple guys who thought they had great relationships who got dumped and told their girl always hated them. i have 2 kids with a thai girl and we get along ok. i pay her a monthly salary. i am worth more to her alive so hopefully it will stay that way.

not sure i understand you. she spends what she has to on the kids and does what ever she wants with the rest. i dont have any say over what she spends it on and i dont care as long as the kids are looked after. this is all getting a bit off topic.

Definitely an increase in traffic volume between mae nam and lamai...sometimes difficult to go 30klm.per hour.

More and more westerners,including koreans,chinese phillipino's now living on Samui..cant blame them its a nice place,but road congestion is a problem maybe accounting for more road rage and aggressiveness from the local thais.

I decided to get out a year ago (my best days of samui were over and time to move on).Bye bye Samui thanks for the good times..

Yes and this is the crux of the matter.Of course thai ladies will love their partner,thai or farang,but there is the expectation of the man taking care of her financially,and if possible her mom and pop too..Many times here on TV we here of the farang running out of money,cannot support his lady anymore.So what is she to do?...she may still love him but they've got to eat.And if she has no decent qualifications her salary will never be enough to support her,her farang man and her mom and pop.There lies the problem...the same would apply if her partner was thai.

The younger thais are certainly getting fatter with all their sugary drink,food and no exercise.I have relocated to a village in Isaan and very rarely see a fat person(except young children)We have a 711 and a tesco express.Nearly all the houses have enough land to grow vegetables and fruit which they sell at the local market.Old men and women out cycling everyday,Everyone looks lean and healthy.Some old guys grow their own tabacco,but yes not a lot smoke these days.Isaan style food is a handicap,most of it absolute rubbish,too much salt,sugar and nam pla.

Just wait till the Alzheimers kicks in. The educated classes won't be feeling so smug then. Society should be encouraging people to smoke, drink, and eat fatty food. Do your bit, once your productive life is over, die and go away, quickly. Seriously, I'd rather die quickly of a stroke, than live few years longer and drag it out with Alzheimers. trouble is most stroke victims dont die but suffer the consequences...loss of speech,body movement and loss of vision etc..if you want to die quickly a heart attack would be better

there's a good dentist chinese thai man speaks good english,i have been there to get my teeth cleaned for 600 baht,did a good job.It's on paduang panit road left hand side before temple,If you were coming into roi et on road route 2044 you would keep going straight over the the klong go over 2 traffic lights drive 1 klm more keep looking for dentist sign on the left.
