  1. Some people may not realise that you are talking about Soi 7 Beer Garden, Sukhumvit.
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 179 seconds
  3. The 1003 looks like this in daylight ...... I'm not sure that this is the exact location of the crash, but the whole length of the road is like this from Buddha mountain to the 331.
  4. And, if you use the Financial Times, you could get some investment advice from the resulting impression - but you may have to hold it up to a mirror, depending upon who was on top.
  5. 20 years for rape and another 20 years for blackmail. The "friend" Jun should get at least the same.
  6. I don't know, but my guess would be the Thai Excise Department.
  7. In the top photo the car is straddling the double white line that separates the bike lane from the main road. Unless the car was moved after the impact, it does appear to be on the wrong side.
  8. I just looked again at the labels in the OP. The TLC is rated 1 star for energy efficiency but the older Mitsu is rated 5 stars. That seems like a huge difference.
  9. I'm not an expert, or even close, but I have a couple of comments. 1. AFAIK it's the frequent restarts of the older unit that consumes the most power. So I think you will get better results over a longer period, say overnight. 2. Using 2 units in one room at the same time. How can you know which unit was more/less responsible for the drop in temperature. Is it possible that the new unit was working harder to get down to the set temperature?
  10. The Department of Employment (DOE) is part of the Ministry of Labour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Labour_(Thailand)
  11. In the link to Thai Customs ... https://www.customs.go.th/list_strc_simple_neted.php?ini_content=individual_160503_03_160905_01&lang=en&left_menu=menu_individual_submenu_01_160421_01#individual_F01_160426_04 There are 3 categories: 1. Cigarettes and alcohol. Limit is 200 cigs and 1L alcohol. Any more must be put in the bin (you lose it). If you don't put it in the bin you get prosecuted (and lose it) 2. Nothing to declare. Self explanatory. 3. Goods to declare. Anything except cigarettes and alcohol, which are already covered in the first category. I.e. - handbags, watches, perfumes, etc above the 20,000 baht value limit. If you insist that alcohol can be declared and duties paid at the airport you need to put up a link.
  12. It's there in the rules. Importation of Alcoholic Beverages and Cigarettes The alcoholic beverages and cigarettes exempted from duty are listed as follows: No more than 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco or 250g of all types combined No more than 1 litre of alcoholic beverage The excess quantities of cigarettes, tobacco or alcoholic beverages must be dropped in the box provided by Customs, otherwise prosecution will be carried out.
  13. This is incorrect. The actual rule is posted by @marin a couple of posts below yours. You can not declare alcohol or tobacco above the allowed limit and expect to pay the duties.
  14. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 94 seconds
  15. No problem, it's downhill both ways.
  16. AFAIK importing alcohol (more than 1L) requires a licence, and it's not possible to just declare it and pay the duty..
  17. Fast and Furious 50 Not so fast, but making everyone furious.
  18. From previous posts regarding 90 day reports, he is living in Thailand. I'm wondering whether he just needs info about accessibility to immigration buildings.
  19. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 130 seconds
  20. No reason why they can't have a QR code tattooed on their arses.
  21. It was a washing machine from Lotus's online shop. It was delivered on the back of a pickup by 1 guy alone. The machine probably weighed more than him. He dropped it. When they came to collect the damaged machine it was another guy on his own. I paid our security guard 100 baht to help him load it (I had visions of it falling on him as he struggled). After that I decided to buy from homepro.
  22. I don't know what species it is but ... pedant alert ... it's unlikely to be poisonous - venomous, maybe. Sorry.
  23. Looks like it was CNG, poorly installed.
  24. I had the same problem 15,000 baht refund sent to my wallet, and I couldn't activate the wallet. Lazada gave me the answer (only works using the phone app). Go to "account" then "wallet" Tap on the amount - don't try to activate. Choose "withdraw" then complete the deposit/withdrawal form. I can't remember exactly, but I think I got a OTP from my bank, then the withdrawal was received a few days later.
  25. When the currency is strong, exported goods (and tourism is an export) become less attractive.
