  1. In another of your topics you complain about the high price of flip-flops ($5 Australian). The 600 baht they saved could buy 5 pairs.
  2. Yes, and (IIRC) her ex-husband (a police officer) is likely to be jailed too - for concealing evidence.
  3. I am British. I support the idea of an Australian republic, provided that a clear majority of Australians want it. In the last referendum Australians rejected the idea of a republic, by a clear majority - but that was 25 years ago. I think it's about time for a new referendum.
  4. The man has (allegedly) raped 2 girls and threatened to kill family members if they tell. They have told. But the police will wait for him to surrender. What could possibly go wrong.
  5. Is the tank properly vented? A blockage in the vent pipe can cause flushing problems. A symptom might be air bubbling up from the U-bend as you flush.
  6. I just selected part of your post for my reply, but I understand and agree with what you are saying overall. As far as I can tell, there were just 6 staff members looking after about 30 kids aged 4-14. That does not seem like sufficient staff to evacuate a bus in an emergency. Maybe recruiting some parents to help is not a bad idea.
  7. Lots of information in a previous topic ...
  8. Free on the steps outside any temple.
  9. A Thai Member of Parliament is on the run to let the clock run out on the limitation of proceedings. He will probably return and take up his seat in parliament on 26th October and nobody will even raise an eyebrow.
  10. 4.5 years later. How is that 30 baht repair standing the test of time?
  11. The English language website that I linked, shows daily buses from CM to Udon.
  12. Some info on this website might help. https://www.easybook.com/en-th/bus/operator/phetprasert-thailand
  13. Or they could be sat on their bums doing their sums.
  14. Some people may not realise that you are talking about Soi 7 Beer Garden, Sukhumvit.
  15. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 179 seconds
  16. The 1003 looks like this in daylight ...... I'm not sure that this is the exact location of the crash, but the whole length of the road is like this from Buddha mountain to the 331.
  17. And, if you use the Financial Times, you could get some investment advice from the resulting impression - but you may have to hold it up to a mirror, depending upon who was on top.
  18. 20 years for rape and another 20 years for blackmail. The "friend" Jun should get at least the same.
  19. I don't know, but my guess would be the Thai Excise Department.
  20. In the top photo the car is straddling the double white line that separates the bike lane from the main road. Unless the car was moved after the impact, it does appear to be on the wrong side.
  21. I just looked again at the labels in the OP. The TLC is rated 1 star for energy efficiency but the older Mitsu is rated 5 stars. That seems like a huge difference.
  22. I'm not an expert, or even close, but I have a couple of comments. 1. AFAIK it's the frequent restarts of the older unit that consumes the most power. So I think you will get better results over a longer period, say overnight. 2. Using 2 units in one room at the same time. How can you know which unit was more/less responsible for the drop in temperature. Is it possible that the new unit was working harder to get down to the set temperature?
  23. The Department of Employment (DOE) is part of the Ministry of Labour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Labour_(Thailand)
  24. In the link to Thai Customs ... https://www.customs.go.th/list_strc_simple_neted.php?ini_content=individual_160503_03_160905_01&lang=en&left_menu=menu_individual_submenu_01_160421_01#individual_F01_160426_04 There are 3 categories: 1. Cigarettes and alcohol. Limit is 200 cigs and 1L alcohol. Any more must be put in the bin (you lose it). If you don't put it in the bin you get prosecuted (and lose it) 2. Nothing to declare. Self explanatory. 3. Goods to declare. Anything except cigarettes and alcohol, which are already covered in the first category. I.e. - handbags, watches, perfumes, etc above the 20,000 baht value limit. If you insist that alcohol can be declared and duties paid at the airport you need to put up a link.
