  1. Not a prude but you camped on St Tropez nudist beach in the 70’s and kept your shorts on. Hmm……..
  2. Been a bit of a weird old time. Last one, maybe two stories have been about Thais behaving badly, but fortunately normal service has been resumed. And the Brits have got their second wind, forging even further ahead. Lots of Thai pervs about with phone cameras at the ready, so we have barely scratched the surface of crimes that are ready to be publicized. But please, none of that local crap, it’s foreigners behaving badly that everyone is interested in..
  3. I’m sorry. I don’t see how this story relates to foreigners behaving badly. So why is it being reported on?
  4. It’s always been going on, just it’s flavor of the month to highlight it at the moment. Plenty of crap going on with Thai people as well, but foreigners behaving badly is what’s generating click atm. might change in a while in terms of reporting, will continue in terms of reality
  5. Just how many Thai people are there touring around and acting like wannabe paparazzi. It seems like everyone wants to be the one to post a viral video of foreigners engaged in public sex and they’ll go to extreme lengths to do it. There are moral standards that foreigners should observe. And then there are peeping Tom voyeurs who go beyond the norm to look for amateur porn.
  6. Is it fun? maybe choose somewhere with better air quality
  7. “According to Assoc Prof Chalerm Liewsisakul of Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine, the last decade has seen a notable deterioration in air quality in the region, correlating with an increase in lung disease cases.” ya think?
  8. Probably not. Understanding it may be an issue though
  9. Brits are way out in front, out of sight. The rest are jostling for second place
  10. lol. In other words China is doing its thing and Thailand is clinging to its coat tails. FFS, Thailand can’t even make use of its satellite allocation, let alone boldly go where plenty have boldly gone before
  11. Quite right. Start off with that toss bag who was joy riding on Kamala beach in his car. Oh wait, turned out he was Thai. 1k baht fine will do.
  12. Xenophobic hate of foreigners is a current bandwagon that is easy to hitch onto. It distracts from government failure to address major issues, such as air pollution in Chiang Mai, inflation and, in Anutins particular case, the issues raised by unlicensed cannabis use. Providing a common enemy that everyone can rail against, provides a useful distraction.
  13. “Foreigner condemned for driving car on Kamala Beach in Phuket; PM blasted for saying cannabis policy yielded bad results” this headline from the AN of the day suggests differently, does it not?
  14. Hard to revoke the visa of a thai person. could revoke his drivers licence, if in fact he committed a traffic offence
  15. At the time the video went viral, I believe that farang were blamed as being the driver and their were howls for their deportation. oh the irony
  16. I’m not sure you are correct. Only INCOME brought in is assessable to tax. Possibly capital gains also. I see no mention of assessing capital monies that are brought in to Thailand. there is also the issue of whether the person withdrawing cash from an atm is, in fact, resident in Thailand for tax purposes. No details were provided by the op on that.
  17. They always have just barely tolerated us. Just before they needed the money more so hid it better
  18. Similar incidents? Germanic man grabs the collar of a taxi driver. Two Thai guys cut off the arm of a shopkeeper. Other than cigarettes, there are some quite marked differences
  19. Stupider than stupid. check back again when you are broke
  20. The reference to a Chinese national was in relation to a SIMILAR incident that occurred some time ago. Not this incident. it clearly says so in the article.
