  1. As far as the news goes, it looks like everybody wants to invade the UK.
  2. It took it long enough to leave, and even that process is incomplete. All good things come to those that wait.
  3. Promises (and threats) were made from all over the place but who was in any position to promise anything? Especially when dealing with an affronted and vindictive EU commission. Horrible lot and I'm glad we're out.
  4. Because they didn't bother converting to USD. And why would they? This is a forex issue.
  5. I'm sensing more than a touch of deja vu here.
  6. Try harder, there are ,millions of them.
  7. Like remain were fundless? LOL.
  8. If at first you don't succeed.....
  9. I believe it remains the case that any foreign influence there might had no affect at all. Looks like it's still a case of sore losers. Nag nag. Nanu nanu.
  10. A bigger part of the problem was the communist led unions being allowed too much influence by the Labour governments of the 70's. I was there too and remember so many 'workers" regularly in the pubs at lunchtime while they were still clocked-on at British Leyland. Complete joke and <deleted> cars.
  11. British industry started to disappear well before Thatcher .
  12. Spending trillions of magic dollars on wasteful projects like the ridiculously named Inflation Reduction Act and (selective) student loan relief, while squandering U.S. fuel reserves earmarked for emergencies, during times of historically high inflation. And I didn't see too many complaints from the Floridians. Biden's policies and Harris's inaction have made the whole border/migration problem worse than ever.
  13. This is about filling it, maybe, not emptying it. At $100+ a barrel, really? Pipe dreams.
  14. The deficit halved from 21 to 22. Not from when Biden got in the WH. I explained the 5T already. There is less spending on Covid and related costs in any case.
  15. Yes I erred and looked at the wrong chart (spending/debt). However, if you look at your own (deficit) chart the deficit was not 5 trillion in 2020 but 3.13T. On the same chart the deficit was 2.77 trillion in 2021. That is not halving the deficit. https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-deficit/
